The Holiday Inn Express is a decent stay for a short trip. Although it does not have alot of amenities such as a pool or a fitness centre. It does have wireless internet, which is a plus when you need to do work/email. The B-fast was wonderful. Top quality food. There are both hot and cold varieties with many choices of juices, yogurt..etc.

Hotel staff was very accomodating (except for one instance mentioned below). Room was ready and clean. High speed wireless internet in the rooms was nice and connectiion with laptop took just a minute or so. A good variety of channels on TV showing the diversity of the population of Toronto (French, English, Spanish, and at least one with Indian programming (Not native american, from India)) View was not that great; contruction of new buildings, but there was minimal to no noise we could hear. We were on the 11th floor. We enjoyed the full hot breakfast although the bisquits were a bit hard. Only had one the first day of our 6 night stay. Lots of room to eat, 4 distinct areas so there was always a place to sit. Location was approximately 1 1/2 city blocks from the Trolley to the south and 2 1/2 blocks from the Trolley to the north. Closest Subway (train) was approx 4 city blocks (King Station). Closest Subway (eating) is approx 4 blocks as well (of Yonge Street). We did a lot of walking due to the location but it was ok with us. Someone older might not like the off the beaten path thing. There was a car rental place close though (Discount Car and Truck) that we used one day and it was very close and convenient. Only issue was when we were leaving, I asked the gentleman at the front desk how much it was to reserve a car to the airport (cheaper than getting one on the fly) and he said $55 CAD. That was more expensive than the airport. We were able to reserve one ourselves for $45 CAD. It appeared he got a kick back for working with some car company. Overall, enjoyable stay.

The staff at this hotel was exceptionally helpful and friendly; gave very good advice regarding a nearby Indian restaurant, and how to get around. Breakfast was good with nice variety; overall and excellent value for the price. Only drawback is that there is a street nearby with shady-looking characters hanging around in a very nice park and on the sidewalk.

The Holiday Inn Express was a little further away than we would have liked, but the staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was very nice.

Clean, friendly, good selection of breakfast and it was complimentary which is a nice touch. The parking facility was horrible. The staff was friendly and very attentive. They called our room when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. They called us a cab right away, and provided good directions. The complimentary breakfast was nice a very selection. Unfortunately, there was a group of young adults staying on our floor who were very loud so I got very little sleep. However, that was not the hotel's fault I should have asked for a different floor, because I was only staying for a night I was not going to bother. Overall, it was a good stay. Thank you.

The hotel's location is great - it's in middle of downtown, walking distance to most attractions. The breakfast is pretty decent too. They also have free internet access which was very handy. The biggest problem with the hotel were the elevators. It wasn't unusual to wait 10 minutes before an elevator showed up on your floor during mornings and evenings. Also, don't stay on the construction side of the hotel - it gets noisy in the early mornings.

I visited Toronto in October and stayed at this hotel. When I checked in the staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous from check-in to check-out.The free daily breakfast they offered was very good.I was even given a map on where all the attractions are.The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It's convieniently located within walking distance to all the attractions and eateries in the area.Neighborhood was safe.No car is necessary if you plan to stick in the downtown area and don't want to pay to park in the garage daily. The bus/subway system is awesome and affordable.I asked at the front desk to get me a cab for my departure and when I checked out the cab was waiting for me.All in all I would definitly stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it.

Very welcoming environment, staff, central location, clean. WE enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Express. We have already recommended our freinds of it being a good hotel. The best thing was they had a user friendly map to assist us to the major attractions downtown. Surely a good recommendation from us. Very good Breakfast too.

The hotel itself is a well-run example of the Holiday Inn Express chain. The hotel was clean, the desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was great every day. Even the free wifi seemed to function flawlessly, which is a major accomplishment for most hotels. Now for the downside... the hotel is located directly across the street from a Salvation Army night shelter, and right next to that, a large office building complex is currently under construction. Expect some shouting, police sirens, etc. at night, and don't expect to sleep late in the morning either until that building is finished. I would avoid walking along Jarvis at night unless you want to be panhandled by the homeless. I will say that this wasn't a "bad" area, and it is very conveniently located. There's a gas station/convenience store across the street for water/snacks, the TTC streetcars run on all the streets around the hotel, and the subway station is 2 blocks away. You're also not more than a block or two from St. Lawrence Market or the Eaton Center Mall.

Great location near the center of Toronto. Free breakfast was very good. No health club. It is hard to find since it is on a street that is only three blocks long. Underground parking was a plus and the fee was reasonable. My room was small but adequate. Free wireless and daily paper were appreciated. Also complimentary hot breakfast fresh and tasty. No restaurant inthe hotel but you are within walking distance of lots of great places to eat. It is a very acceptable choice for the business traveler or family on a budget.

Our room was fine but very small and needed some updating. It is adequate if you're just looking for a fairly inexpensive hotel, but it lacks any luxuries. I did really enjoy the free breakfast, though. Great variety.

Location was in middle of all main attractions. Charge for parking. This was a great choice for the weekend travelers. The free breakfast was great. The selection is what you expect (omelets, muffins, bacon sausage etc.) The location was prime we could walk everywhere in the city of Toronto. The only down side is you had to pay for parking which I guess for a big city like Toronto is needed. Overall though I really liked the hotel.

It was a good location for walking to places in the daytime. I didnt like the lack of cleanliness and the view from my room. I had the homeless shelter to look at and didnt feel safe leaving after 8pm. It was not that good. The coffee downstairs was cold, there was never any water in the dispenser for tea, and the room was not clean. There was garbage from a previous guest under my bed and my bed didnt feel clean. The rug was definitely not vacuumed either.

I liked the location, the air conditioning and the friendly staff. I did not like the initial desk staff telling me my VISA was declined when they didn't enter the expiry date correctly. You can find the hotel easily because it is near King and Church. You can see the Church and hear the Church bells every 15 minutes.

Free breakfast. Not applicable. Convenient, clean, nice room, great breakfast, staff was friendly and very helpful. A very nice place to stay.
