Hotel wasn't bad. Very basic, nothing special. They did not offer a shuttle and did not have a newspaper. The room was big. Clean. Would stay again for the price.

Spacious and well lit. Broken tub faucet and hair on bathroom floor, no pool. Spacious and well lit hallways and rooms, continental breakfast was not very good, would not eat it again. Bathroom floor had hair on it and tub faucet was broken, also had to pay to park no matter how long or short the stay was.

I was not sure what to expect after reading earlier reviews of this hotel. I was happy to find a clean hotel, newly renovated rooms, and a friendly staff. The staff at the front desk were very helpful when I needed directions to get to an event. Even the cleaning staff were cheerful and friendly. I plan to stay at this hotel during my next visit.

Awful. Old old old, they are trying to renovate, but that seems to consist of just painting over the filth. The bathroom was dirty, hair on the towels and floor, mildew on the tile. I would NEVER stay here again. AWFUL.

Good location and very large room - very quiet place. The breakfast was not great - eggs were rubbery and choice was limited.

Parking 7/day, although advertised as free. 2 elevators in 6 story building + 2 levels of parking, only 1 elevator working the first 3 days, both broken the day I checked out. No help to carry my bags down six flights of stairs, and no concern, staff more upset over the lobby air conditioner being broken. Continental breakfast nice, esp. the make-it yourself waffles. 3rd St Diner around corner was great. Room nice, housekeeping staff very friendly. Business center and small fitness center nice, also.

The hotel was well situated for a short drive to the VCU-UofR French Film Festival. The coffee maker in the room was not cleaned, and there was no tea available.

This hotel was very affordable-nice hotel for the 's. We needed a hotel when we attended the 0506 Richmond race. It was very convenient to the track shuttle which was great. The rooms were clean/ spacious. I only went by what I saw on the ratings and their website and we were totally satisfied. We had no idea what to expect. It had a refrig and microwave in the suite which is always nice to have. It also had a business center with a computer and printer and copy machine.

The Holiday Inn Express Downtown was comfortable and in a really good location for those interested in going downtown in the night time. The staff was quick to get us through check in, especially since there were a lot of people checking in, and our room was very clean.

Ilike the way the staff checked on me good work. May be some waffles at breakfast. Very well maintained the staff was very friendly make sure housekeepers make up the beds.

The Holiday Inn Express in Richmond, VA on Cary Street was very comfortable, the room seemed much larger than most with a desk area and a table and two chairs. The location was very good -- located close to Carytown, the VCU campus and downtown.

My sister and I were very pleased with the size of our room and the cleanliness. We both believe it was more spacious than any other Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in. Plenty of room to dress and move around. Staff was quite friendly AND accomodating.

Finally stayed at a decent hotel operated by American who care and give a damn about the facility! I got a smoking room and I don't smoke and it stunk like a dirty ash tray!

Friendly staff, great continental breakfast. Bathroom commode was thoroughly cleaned. Linen on the pullout sofa didn't appear to be fresh. I really liked the hotel. Staff was very professional. I was given a map of the area/locality which I was visiting. I have to return to Richmond next month and if I have to stay overnight I certainly plan to make a reservation at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Downtown Richmond.

Room was clean and quiet, bed was comfortably firm. The complimentary breakfast made for a very good start for the day. A very, very minor issue. The shower curtain rod was loose in its brackets, so the curtain didn't close all the way. Friendly staff and it was very convenient to the convention center (5-6 Short Blocks away. The complimentary breakfast was very nicely provided with a variety of food choices, from cold cereal to eggs and bacon. Quite satisfying.

Once inside the hotel was fine. The surrounding neighborhood unsafe. Mapquest directions hard to follow due to one way streets around the hotel. Neighborhood around hotel was awful. Once inside the hotel was fine, nice breakfast, staff helpful, great map was given to help find way around Richmond!

The room was clean, towels and sheets new and fresh. Breakfast was varied and good! Room was quiet - that was best! Nothing. Staff was informative and pleasant. Rooms very clean with fresh linens. Rooms were quiet!
