Location was good for traveling ,close to the freeways and train station ,also bus stopped in front of hotel, however hotel was next to a vacant building that was boarded up, not sure if it was going to be torn down or to remodel which made the location not so desirable, hotel appeared to be either at the end of town or beginning, again for us we did have a great room with a view of the Capital, We thought it was a little over priced,we booked there for convience since our children lived in West Hartford(10 min) away. The staff was great, perhaps if the prices were less we would consider staying there if we visit next year.

Extremely pleasant people manning the desk. Charge for parking, plus very bad parking facilities. For business travelers, a stay of a day or two, it's fine. Not the most romantic of getaways, but a serviceable hotel.

The room, via an online site, was fifty-eight dollars, (seventy with taxes, etc). It's right next to the highway and the bus station, but noise was not an issue. No issues at all with the hotel - room was clean, everything worked (well actually one elevator wasn't working...). There are one-way streets around it, so it can be confusing getting in and out. Parking is $13/night if you have a car. Not out of line cause you're downtown, but not free. :)

The hotel was close to what we needed but it was very noisy and the room was small with one free electrical outlet (not helpful for 2 cell phone chargers...)

It suited my needs. Slow computer in the business center. Fine for my needs.

I refused to even give this hotel my business after the encounter with the rudest, skankiest front desk clerk! The lobby area was not clean, nor was the mouth on the woman behind the desk. I could not believe the manner in which she spoke to potential customers. Aside from the rude manner in which we were treated, I believe the other hotels in the area provide much better amenities, (not to mention service and amicability) for the money, beyond a doubt! I ended up at the Goodwin Hotel down the street for the same amount of money, and recieved impeccable service and hospitality!

Hotel was adjacent to night club and staff was unapologetic about noise levels. Would not recommend.

It had perfect location to the XL center where I was going to watch the game. The parking was a mess and you had to pay for it. This hotel was a well maintained and great location to downtown hartford. Anyone going to a game at the XL center should stay here.

The hotel was good for the money and location. I was on business and it was very close to everything. The room was very clean. You do have to pay extra for parking.

The hotel is older than some and this particular week one of the two elevators was not in service and had been that way for a month. Since this was the Big East Championship week the Hotel was pretty close to capacity. And with that many people and floors plus workers, you often ended up waiting quite a while. Also, if your room ended up on the back side of the Hotel over the weekend the Bars & Club music were so loud you could not sleep even at 1:30 am. It was better during the week, and the hotel manager offered to move me to the front of the building. Everything else was great, free breakfast, internet access, friendly personnel, close to conference building, you could walk out the building and catch a bus to any place in Hartford or the train station was across the street.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating to what I needed. The bed was so comfortable. One staff member helped me bring my luggage to the bus station next door. This was a total surprise. I found people in Hartford and the staff was very friendly.

We arrived late in Hartford and were confronted with a block party taking place around the motel. Talk about NOISE. When we asked the very nice gentleman at the check-in counter about the frequency of such an event, he told us that it occurred EVERY Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night since the bars were closed the rest of the week. Regardless of the accuracy of that statement, we were hoping for some relief from the cacophany after the crazy events surrounding our flight from DC. Our fine attendant hooked us up with a wonderful room on the side of the motel away from the party atmosphere that gave us a tremendous view of the state capital building. On top of that, the bedding was so comfortable that we purchased the same for our own home. We'd definitely stay at this motel on future trips.

The Holiday Inn Express Downtown-Hartford was very friendly with a great central location! I would stay here again.

The breakfast was incredible, the location and view were perfect. I am not used to city traffic, but it wasn't too bad, just different from country life.

"we stayed here for an anniversary vacation based on the gorgeous views presented on this site. we had a view of the parking lot, a loud, disturbing night of thumping music from a nearby club, and rude service when we asked how to use the internet. not to mention the $12 parking we were led to believe was included. we will not stay here again."

I was satisfied with my stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Hartford. The room was nice although the left handle on the bathroom sink kept falling off & the plug for the drain did not work. I expected my sheets to be changed the next day but they weren't and they did not change the hand towels-just left the ones I had used the night before. The hotel staff was friendly & gave me a map to the downtown area. The location was great as I had not ever been to the area and it was on the free bus shuttle route and also on the regular bus route. There was a nice big park across the street. Good price for a hotel that included a microwave & refrigerator, although there were no ice machines. I would stay there again if I was in that area as it was a good location.

Very disappointed in the parking situation. I would not stay there again.

"The Holiday Inn Express in Downtown was a great deal for the price. It was the best price in the city. The hotel is located directly across from the state capitol building so from my room I had a gorgeous view of Bushnell Park and the Capitol. While the hotel itself did not have a restaurant, there were amazing choices within a few steps, from Black Eyed Sally's to Hot Tomatoes (YUM!). I would definitely recommend this place."

The only thing good was that it was close to the University of Hartford - Hart campus

The location is perfect. The carpet in our room was very dirty and stained. While the location of the property was perfect, the carpet was dirty and stained. The complimentary breakfast was nice. Did not expect to have to pay for parking. Parking should be complimentary.
