The location was perfect for us and the free breakfast was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff was very courteous. Location and room staff were all great. I would stay here again but not the same room. Internet access was slow to very slow at times. The breakfast was more than continental and eggs, breakfast meat & biscuits every morning.

November, 2006
Our family of 5 stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday. We had to move 3 times. Maintainence is not the strong suit. Third room had no soap entire time. Beds were only partially made. Broken slats on door, Staff very nice, but a bit clueless. Printer ink cartridge out, no replacement available. Elevator broke down 2 times.

It has a nice location and was clean.

Very comfortable bed! Smoking room. Asked to be changed. Was changed to another smoking room. Very nice, my only issue was that I was put in a smoking room, because the TV did not work in the Non-smoking room.

The staff was friendly and it was quiet. Smoking room and couldn't sleep. Overall it was a good hotel. However, being placed in a king smoking room was horrible. We woke up every few hours to the smell of smoke. Not a pleasant night. The staff mentioned they had no other rooms so we had to take it.

Very close to restaurants and shopping. Hotel has a very strong tobacco smell in the hallway and is very dimly lit. The woman that checked me in was unfriendly and had an attitude. The hallway smelled terrible. The cigarette smell was really strong. The hallway was also dimly lit. I felt like I was at an awful bar. The bathroom was tiny. The room was very small and cramped. The furniture was crammed in there and was hardly any room to walk. The television picture was blurry and not clear and crisp. I have stayed in a number of hotels included one star extended stay hotels and this by far has been my worst hotel experience ever. From the staff to the lobby to the hallway to the room, this hotel was a major disappointment.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Ants in the bathroom. Friendly, and accommodating staff. Close proximity to shopping and dining.

The bedding, including pillows, were luxurious for the cost of the room. The clerk who checked us out in the morning was unfriendly. Perfect hotel for our needs; we got lost on our way to the hotel and the clerk who answered our calls (night clerk) was super helpful and friendly. Our room was quiet and clean, and the sheets and pillows were super comfy. The hotel is undergoing improvements and we could definitely tell. The morning clerk was less than friendly and actually seemed irritated that we needed change for the bus to Wrigley Field. We arrived to the breakfast late and selections were very limited-none of the bacon or omelets mentioned on the table cards. Overall, for what we paid this hotel was an incredible value and we will stay again if ever in Lombard.

Breakfast is wonderful. The beds were double not queen size. It was very nice.

Quick, courteous staff. They were in the middle of construction. The hotel was clean and easy to find. The room itself was clean and the staff friendly.

Location. Elevator and other places stunk of cigarettes. If all you want is somewhere to sleep it was fine, or if you like camping or cigarettes. If you want a hotel in any sense of the word stay somewhere else.

Spacious room with nice couch and chair for lounging. Hallways were very smoky smelling, but did not extend to room. Reasonably modern hotel. Though the halls smelled strongly of smoke the non-smoking room did not. The room was spacious with a sofa and chair for sitting. Bedding and bathroom amenities were above average for a 2-star hotel. Very nice towels and toiletries in the bathroom. Comfortable and varied selection of pillows on the bed, even labeled firm, soft, etc. With free Wi-Fi, I was very satisfied.

The bed was comfortable. Access to the hotel was not marked well. Overall this hotel is clean, friendly staff, and close to food and shopping.

The service was great! There were not any stores near by to get groceries. Very clean lovely rooms great restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel seemed like it was trying to maintain costs by eliminating unneeded excess. The continental breakfast, described as "deluxe" was nothing more than some boxes of bakery. No frills, low cost, clean, friendly, efficient.

Price, location. Hallway smelled horrible like smoke, staff at breakfast was very rude. Nice location, bed was comfortable, nice linens, clean room.1 woman at the counter was friendly, and the guy at the desk was not very nice. The staff at the breakfast was rude when I asked for orange juice they refused to get more; this was at 9:30. The breakfast was to go until 10:00. The hallway on our "non smoking" floor smelled horrible like smoke.

The bedding was excellent, best rest I've had in some time. Impeccably maintained and very clean. Excellent bedding, thick towels, quiet room. This is the hotel that should be used as the benchmark to measure other hotels. I could not be more pleased with my stay at the HI Express.

Price. Breakfast. The entrance. Good service that I want to come again if I'm in the area.
Date of Stay:

Continental breakfast wasn't any good. The rooms were fine, but the continental breakfast was poor. All they had was rolls, juice and coffee. We have stayed at other Holiday Inn Expresses and the continental breakfasts were much better.
