The sheets were soft and beds were just right.Housekeeping needed more attention to detail and that would be my only complaint. There were many fast food restaurants walking distance.

Easy access to major highways. Hotel was very accommodating. No complaints. Very accommodating, clean, friendly, with easy access to major interstate highway. Close to Madison yet distanced from the main city. Close to small city (Deforest) for your convenient personal needs, such as gas, groceries, laundry, restaurants, etc.

The room was adequate for our needs - a business trip for meetings North and South of DeForest. I prefer a closet rather the open area provided to hang my things, but this was a minor issue. I also didn't like the sink right inside the door, but again, a minor issue. The work area, desk and sitting area were good sized for working and pre-meeting discussions. Our non-smoking room smelled like smoke (the two room across the hall and next to us were smoking rooms), so we requested a room change, which could not be accomodated until the next day because the hotel was full. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful, even lending me a stapler and hole punch when I asked. The fresh baked cookies at the front desk in the afternoon were a warm welcome; however, the number of flies in the 'breakfast area' our second morning made me lose my appetite. The staff seemed annoyed that I mentioned it. The free breakfast was the basics - bagels, doughnuts, fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea. Nothing special but sufficient for our needs. The note in the Guest Services booklet encouraging guests to patronize local businesses and restaurants was a good idea. We tried all the restaurants listed and were pleasantly surprised by all of them - great values and good, homecooked meals. A definite change from the usual chain restaurants and an added bonus for our trip! The complimentary shuttle was an asset as well for our business partner arriving before us, although, the staff seemed confused when he wanted to check in early even though they knew his arrival time since they had the shuttle scheduled to pick him up. Overall, the hotel was a good bargain and we were generally happy with the hotel, despite the few annoyances listed. We will stay here again on future business trips because of the convenience, location and local hosiptality.

Excellent breakfast bar. Very good staff. A bit too far from Madison when roads are slick. An excellent Holiday Inn Express. Staff is friendly and responsive. Room was clean. Breakfast was much improved from our 11/07 visit.

Located close to a interstate highway, getting to and from this hotel is easy. Acommodations at this hotel are pretty much average, nothing fancy. There are smoking rooms at this hotel; I do not know the ratio of smoking v.s non-smoking rooms. The area around this hotel is not impressive, as can be expected of a hotel located away from major cities. But this can work fine for quick stayovers on longer trips. There are gas stations and at least one fast food restaurant close by.

Cleanliness of the room and comfortable beds and pillows. Lack of hot food at the breakfast buffet. This is a typical "motel", a place where you would generally stay one night and move on. The room and facility was clean, Wi-Fi was available as was a small business center, but most importantly, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Not a bad place at all to stay if you have local business or are passing through on the interstate.

We were very pleased with our accomadations. The room was tasteful. The losation was close to the I-39 exit. Check-in was quick. The pool was small but sufficient to wear out 4 grandkids grandma loved the hot tub. Breakfast room was very pleasant and well-stocked. Staff were very friendly. Nice place to spend a night on the way to your destination! I always find Holiday Inn Express a good value.

Clean, nice general area for breakfast and gathering. I requested rooms in the near vacinity of each other but not a large hotel, so it was not an issue.

After a long drive we stopped at the Holiday Inn Express DEFOREST at dinner time. Our room was ready, checkin was quick and easy. Access was good on the second floor via a clean easy to operate elevator. The room was spotless and well prepared. The hotel does not have a dining room, but is close to several fast food outlets, just fine for a casual snack, but not very good for a full meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. (family-like) The continental breakfast was adequate and ready for an early morning departure. We will return if traveling again along the route, although we will dine in a regular restaurant in Madison some 15 miles distant. This is not a resort, but a clean comfortable place for weary travelers.
