Check in and out was easy. The room was clean and had a microwave and fridge. There was a coffee maker and a hair dryer. The breakfast bar was great with anything you could want. I would definitely stay again. It was very close to the civic center. We came to to go to an event at the civic center.

good location room had a slight musty order at frist. Hotel is good for a Quick stay over. I was unable to check into my room until 3:30 because they took a long to clean.

Something must have changed since the other good reviews! We were specifically promised a blocked non-smoking room (allergies)...no non-smoking rooms avail, because of "over booking." No other rooms at all! Front desk staff didn't care. The security guard was the only guy that seemed interested in the situation (he was helpful & brought some air freshener to the stinking room). Dirty washcloth in bathroom (where's housekeeping?). Stay here only if desperate!

The hotel was simple and plain but for the money it was okay. The location is convenient but the area isn't the greatest. Breakfast was included-simple but good. For a low-cost stay it was okay. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

It was convenient to the location I was interested in. Nothing. It was very easy to access, room was clean, and bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. Next time I go to Roanoke, I will stay there.

I stayed at this hotel recently on a business trip to Roanoke. The best features are the free passes to the YMCA to work out, free computer in the lobby with internet access, and continental breakfast. Great location near downtown and clean rooms.

The Holiday Inn Express on Gainsboro was totally acceptable. It's in close proximity to downtown with clean rooms, friendly staff, and overall was just fine for the price.

I liked the comfort of the room and the beds. Kids enjoyed the pool although it was crowded at first. Upon arriving, I was a little unsure about the neighborhood, but had no problems. This was a great place to stay with my girls for our getaway weekend. The room was very comfortable, the staff was friendly, the pool and facilities were clean, the breakfast was good, and it was convenient to where we wanted to go.

I booked an overnight stay at this hotel at the last minute. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable and clean room. It featured free Wi-Fi for internet access, a desk, couch and queen-sized bed. The front desk was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions about shopping and dining in the area -- both of which were very close. The breakfast was very good -- exceeding the typical continental faire with eggs, meats, and several other items from which to choose. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in the area.

Holiday Inn Express ROANOKE-CIVIC CENTER, Roanoke, Virginia, was a good stop. the front desk gave us insite into were to eat and how to get their. the pool was onsight and easy access. bath room was small but clean and nicely furnished. there was a ymca that you have access to but it was across the steet and you would have to drive. overall i had a good night.most of the places to eat were in a large mall and you could also shop there.

The room was large, Bathroom was nice, great amenities. No rooms with hot tubs in them. Great place to stay if you have something to do in town. If your looking to go to a hotel for romantic reasons, you might want to look else where.

I had randomly found this hotel late at night on a Friday (I had left another hotel due to an out-of-hand party there). I was extremely tired when I arrived. The staff at this hotel were extremely accomodating and pleasant. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I travel this area quite often and will make it a point to stay there again.

The Holiday Inn Express Roanoke-Civic Center is located close to downtown Roanoke and the headquarters of several of Roanoke's main businesses. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Internet service was excellent. The hotel serves a reasonable breakfast free of charge to guests, although I did get tired of the limited choices over the course of my one-week stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. I give this hotel a solid thumbs up for the business traveler.
