We selected this hotel as in the past we had a very good experience of another holiday inn express breakfast bar. This hotel was very badly managed. Within half an hour that breakfast began they ran out of food. We didn't get to taste the cinnamon rolls that they ardently advertise. The staff would put out only 8 rolls in the morning and then tell us that they do not have more. Those 8 rolls are as hard as rock as they are frozen and hence avoided by everyone. we stayed for 2 days but were very unhappy with the breakfast. Even though breakfast began at 6:30am nothing was kept ready by the staff. On the second day, I complained to the front desk staff as once again within 20 minutes of breakfast bar being open they told us that they have run out of cinnamon rolls. The front desk staff told them about my complaint and with very unhappy faces they put 8 frozen rolls in the breakfast bar which noone could eat. Wonder how they suddenly got the rolls when they told us that they were over. The kitchen manager was dishonest. The vending machines were almost empty all the time and the vending area was very dirty. The beds and bathroom were exceptionally clean but the hotel corridors didn't smell fresh and were stinking. We had to hold our breath till we reached out room from the elevator. We wouldn't book this hotel ever again.

It's hard to imagine such a hotel as HIE not being considerate enough to install a hotel sign at the entrance to the road. Travelers, turn in at the sign of Hampton Inn. (Believe it or not.) You cannot see the HIE from the road because of the trees.It's the standard HIE except for the pool being accessed only by walking through the back parking lot into and through the lobby of the Hampton Inn. Crazy.This is the first HIE that does not freely give body lotion to its guests.Good breakfast bar though!

The Holiday Inn Express in Chapel Hill was very comfy. I loved the fact that they had no comforters. (I always worry that those things never get washed.) The linens were crisp and white and the beds had lots of pillows! I did not love the process that it took to hook up to my wireless internet. I had to call and let a tech person talk me through it all--a bit of a hassle.

Me and my wife took our son to Chapel Hill for a UNC visit and the stay was great. The hotel had maps at the front desk to help us find our way around. Shuttle servide if needed and free wirless internet so i could still keep up with my off work whike I was away. My son will attend UNC andI will stay at this Hotel evey trip to Chapel Hill

The Holiday Inn Express in Chapel Hill was very clean and had appealing linens--mostly white with no bedspread. I liked that since I always wonder how often those things are washed. It was easy to get to off I-40, yet far enough away that you didn't hear the traffic. This hotel was very convenient to UNC-CH.

My daughter and I visited the area for our first time to visit universities and found this to be a perfect hotel. Convenient location and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was top notch.
