This hotel is located in a pretty crummy part of Brooklyn. The price was decent, but the location left A LOT to be desired. I requested a room with one king size bed, but ended up with a room with two doubles. Not what I wanted. My room was right next to the door to the stairwell. It slammed shut repeatedly throughout the day and night, and was really unpleasant. The desk in the room did not have a chair. I requested one, but never got one. Most of the housekeeping staff was pleasant, but one particular woman - African American - was extremely rude. When I left, I chose not to tip her at all. She didn't deserve it. The complimentary breakfast was okay, but they repeatedly ran out of things - yogurt, cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this hotel was run. The staff were friendly, they served a great breakfast for free and spoke perfect English. The only downside is that there is only one elevator for the 9+ floors in this building and you can be standing there waiting for a couple minutes.

The beds were very comfortable. My over all stay at the Holiday Inn Express was very satisfying. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the toiletry products they provided were very good. I was concerned staying in Brooklyn for the first time but the neighborhood was fine and I felt safe anytime of the day or night.

My family of 4 stayed for 4 nights in a "two double beds" room. The room was very tight, with almost no room to move about once our 4 suitcases were in there. However the hotel is quite new and clean. The surrounding area is not very attractive, but the hotel is only 50m from the subway station and it is only a few stops to Manhattan. There is a good restaurant district nearby in 5th Avenue (Park Slope). The hotel provides a very good free breakfast, including cereals, toast, bagels, croissants, pastries, french toast, coffee, cinnamon rolls, yoghurt, fruit and juices. The price was reasonable given the ease of access to new York City.Rooms have no refrigerators.

We just needed a place to sleep for an overnight in Brooklyn... it filled the bill! We've stayed here before - it's reliable and has the coffee in the room and the room is clean and that's important!

Location was very convenient to the metro and walking distance to nice Park Slope area. The two apartment buildings between the hotel and the metro are very unsavory. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. It was a great clean/budget find. No frills, good value.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with my husband while we were visiting friends who live in Brooklyn. I reserved the hotel room with a promotion, so we paid a discounted price. We reserved a non-smoking king room. We arrived at the hotel to find out that we had been put in a smoking room that had been cleaned. We were on a smoking floor and we could smell cigarette smoke not only in the hallway, but in our room as well. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff, they told me no other rooms were available. The hotel also had 8 floors, but the 1st floor was partially underground. We were on the first floor in Brooklyn with a street-level window that opened onto the access ramp to the parking garage, so not only did the room not seem secure, we had to listen to cars and motorcycles driving past at all hours of the night. Again, no other rooms were available. Our room was also directly across from the elevator machine room and apparently next to the laundry room. There was not one time in three days that I walked into the hallway and didn't see at least 3 gigantic bins of dirty towels waiting to go into the laundry room. We also heard the elevator running all night long. The wireless internet also didn't work in our room and I was told that the 1st floor (read "basement") rooms don't get a good signal. This hotel may be a nice hotel if you pay full price, but when you're getting a deal they apparently won't give you anything other than a basement smoking room.

The woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Next door to hotel was a rough looking spot off the set of the wire. Decent place to sleep, helpful staff, decent breakfast, found on street parking.

Stayed here right after it opened when service and facilities were exceptional. Now no hot water morning or night. Paid-friendly staff but not smart or particularly capable. Disappointing.

Very nice property, HIE has upgraded their breakfast to incluse hot items, which is a real plus. Only negative experience was it took three phone calls in 10 hours to have bathroom toilet unplugged...staff was very apologetic over delays.

Location was close to my son's apartment. The handicap accessible room facilities. The bathroom was not handicap friendly. The shower water ran all over the floor, making it very slippery and messy. The toilet stool was too low. The shower stall had no where to put your soap or shampoo.

This was our 3rd trip to NYC.The first 2 trips we stayed in Manhattan in very nice but very small rooms for 250-350/night. This trip we were part of a large group (family trip.) I was surprised that we were allowed to use the dining room 2 times for family get-togethers. The staff from the manager to the maids is very friendly and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

We were very disappointed to find our room had not been made up or towels changed after we had been out from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm ie. all day. When we reported this to the front desk that evening nothing was done.

This was the cleanest place I've ever stayed, staff was very nice, parking was safe for neighborhood. There is only one elevator, so it is a long wait at peak hours. I absolutely loved this place, I didn't know what to expect, having never stayed there. My worries were over soon as we checked in, the hotel is the cleanest you'll ever see, the staff is very friendly, the parking was safe, although spaces are a little tight, and my favorite part was they give you three plush pillows per bed. The mattresses are firm and I was out like a light in no time. It is also convenient to subway, and driving anywhere in N.Y.C. I will definitely stay here from now on.

The room was very clean. The bathroom looked brand new. I felt very comfortable there. We loved the breakfast buffet. Being complementary, was even better. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. At one point we needed a taxi to get to our destination and they were very helpful in getting one for us. We also needed directions to get on the train, and the lady at the desk, even went outside of the hotel to give us directions. They were very, very helpful.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast, the bathroom had no heat and the rooms were cold upon arrival. The location was great, the parking was reasonably priced and the hotel staff was helpful. I liked the fruit available in the lobby and the elevator took an unusual long time to come to the lobby. The beds where clean and very comfortable and the room was clean and kept up. I would stay in this hotel again.

The holiday inn express rooms were rather small,but that is the norm for new york. The elevator is shared (guest and staff)and is very slow. The room was clean,and the staff was friendly. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Over all the hotel was not that bad.But!! if you need a ride into town do not use the ground transportation(cost $60.00 to brooklyn). You can get a cab (cost $32.00). The subway is within a block.
