had a great time, nice hotel!

Nothing. Everything was completely outdated. I spent more to stay in my hometown thanI would have to ifI drove an hour and a half away. This room was way overpriced! The quality of the room and its furnishings were in total disrepair.
Date of Stay:
September, 2006
We stayed here while visiting Notre Dame. The hotel smells smoky and musty and our bathroom shower was covered in mold. It was gross. They gave us the key to another room to shower in but the hotel is old. The people were nice though.

The Holiday Day Inn in South Bend, IN was very nice, clean and affordable. A hotel change just a few blocks away was almost double the price per night. I would stay at this and other Holiday Inn's without hesitation.

Comfortable and clean. Coffee in the room was really bad.

"Good price for a great location. Plenty of parking, comfortable beds, but we had such a hard time finding a floor with an ice machine. "

location is great..right downtown...poor parking...small parking ramps...entrances not well labeled...poor service at check in...noisy at night..I did call down at 12:39 am and after about 5 minutes everyone seemed to leave the noisy shouting room next door...service was poor for breakfast in the only restaurant...we wondered around for about 3 minutes by the already set-up breakfast buffet before anyone came out of the kitchen area to serve customers.

Nothing. The staff. The rooms were unclean, I had to check 6 floors before I found a working ice machine, and the front desk staff was extraordinarily rude. In fact, we were discriminated against by a manager. In summary, I would not recommend anyone stay here.

"While the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms and common areas were run down and in some cases dirty. Our bathroom has chipped tile and fixtures, water stains on the ceiling. "

The South Bend Holiday Inn was a nightmare. First the put me in a room that someone else was staying in, second they put me on a floor with a school base ball team that ran threw the halls from room to room until 2am, my second room that I went in to the flush was plugged. When I went to the staff about he first room they were very rude and made me feel like it was my fault. I call the 1-800 number and they felt the hotel did what they could about putting me in someone else room. No big deal they were so rude. I would never stay there again.

It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We liked the view from the 14th floor. The pop machine did not work properly. We were in South Bend on a Sunday night to register our daughter at Bethel College (in nearby Mishawaka) the following morning. The staff was friendly and the room clean despite the fact that this had to have been an extremely busy weekend since it was Notre Dame's graduation.

We typically trust and stay at Holiday Inns. We were sorely dissappointed in our stay at this Holiday Inn. The room was dirty and was not serviced for three days. After repeated attempts to have the room cleaned and management address the issues all requests were ignored.

Close to bars, restaurants, and Notre Dame. Spacious and clean rooms. The internet did not work and nobody could fix it. The Holiday Inn had very clean and spacious rooms. It was downtown, but was in a safe area of town. There were restaurants, bars, and Notre Dame near by. Worth the price to stay.

Parking was terrible, confusing stairwells, not much labeling to get to stairs.

We froze, the heat didn't work in our room, didn't realize this until about 3:00 am. The heat didn't work in the room. We didn't realize this until about 3 am. Didn't call because we felt they would not fix it fast enough. Also we had to pay $5.00 to park in their parking garage. Why would they charge for this? The ice machine on floor 9 didn't work. I had to call the desk to find that the ice machines were on 14 and up that worked. The room was clean but I thought we would get 2 double beds not just one king bed.

The view. Check in, go back to your car to put the parking pass in, back to the hotel. Great place to stay one night.

Parking in the building/friendly staff/very clean. Have to pay for parking (although minimal-$5/night). Excellent!

The beds were very comfortable and they had excellent pillows. The front desk was rude. The room was great, the amenities wonderful, the front staff was actually rather rude.

The hotel is great. You get a great view of the city, university and the river. We were also overlooking the hall of fame.
Date of Stay:

Tub didn't drain while taking a shower, beds were old.
