I stayed here for the Rock and Roll marathon and found the rooms to be very nice.

The hotel is in a great location, central to the gaslamp, the bay, Balboa park, and many other places in the area. The pool is incredibly tiny, and is about 10 feet from the major highway 5. No spa, which was unfortunate. Parking costs $14 a night. The air conditioner was sporadic and not powerful enough to keep the room at a reasonably cool temperature, especially at night. The unit was very noisy too, and woke me up often, but didn't do its job. The worst thing about this hotel was the horrible service at the restaurant bar. It would take them consistently 20 minutes to toast a bagel for me, and I was late to my conference on multiple occasions waiting for them to wrap up my food for me. They also consistently forgot my juice, yogurt, or other simple and easy to prepare food. This was just ridiculous. It was incredibly understaffed, and clearly the people working there did not know what they were doing. Incompetence galore. I was also charged $20 to print some material for the workshop I was attending. They have free wifi in the roms, but you have to pay to print, and there is a $5 fee just to sign on, and then you get charged for ink as well. Not great service here. However, with the location and the price. . . I might stay there again if I was short on funds. Just be sure to leave at least 30 minutes to order breakfast, even if it's just toast. And plan to avoid the pool, and sleep in the buff.

Staff was great at accomidating my needs. The location. There are a lot of one way streets in San Diego and to get to my other destinationsI had to take the long way.

I stayed here for one night after staying in a 4 star hotel here for business and really thought this hotel was better. The room wasn't giant but was very nice- newly redone and had beautiful marble tops on bureaus, nightstand and bathroom, and great curtains, carpet and upholstery. The bed was very comfortable and they offer a selection of 4 types of pillows! a nice touch. They also offer internet access for free (the 4 star place charged $13 a day) as well as a free shuttle to the airport. They helped me with sending a package, directions, and a problem I had with power to my computer - the maintenance person was there within 5 minutes and turned out I hadn't turned on the switch! They all could not have been nicer or more helpful. I would definitely come back.

It was a little far from the Gaslamp district. Hotel management said it was in walking distance, and it turned out to be way to far by foot.

The view of downtown San Diego. The staff was accommodating.

Not right in the heart of downtown, but everything is easily assessible. 4 blocks to Trolley station, 2 blocks to bus stop and Seaport Village and Gaslamp were both walkable. The shuttle service from hotel was very accomodating. The hotel was under renovation, but we were not disturbed by construction. The bed was VERY comfortable. It would have been nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast (free coffee in the lobby would have been nice). Overall, the breakfast grill was good and the price was reasonable. The pool did not look inviting, and did not appear to ever be in the sun.

Went to the hotel after graduation to check out the Gaslamp district. It was fairly close but a good walk away from the main strip of bars. The staff was friendly though they did not tell us about the parking charge which they surprised us with at check out, $14 dollars per car. It was an average hotel for an average price.

This particular Holiday Inn was and okay hotel. It wasn't great and it wasn't bad. The rooms were very clean and very modern looking. Bathroom was nice, everything was new and clean. I wasn't too happy with the front desk staff at check in. Kind of had an attitude. Everytime we asked for a shuttle there would be one parked outside but they would made us wait like 15 minutes. Location was pretty good. Close to downtown gaslamp district and close to old town san diego.

Walking to harbor and little Italy. No restaurant for fine dinning or cocktail lounge no music. House keeping service very good, room very clean, bed was excellent. Drivers that took pick us up at sea world were on time and very polite.

Was leery about the hotel after reading all the reviews. The hotel is in the middle of renovations wich was not mentioned when I called to confirm my stay. A nice hotel - within close distance to everything but far enough away that you didn't have to deal with the crowds or noise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

For the amount that I paid for the rooms, the rooms were not so great. The room was small and the parking was really bad. The space was small so I had difficult time parking. They were renovating and some parts were already renovated so they say and other parts of Hotel was not. They also charged me $12/night for parking even to guests. Overall, won't recommend this hotel to anyone out there.

The hotel was nice, recently updated. Rooms were ok, odd bathroom doors, sliding semi-see through design. Has shuttle service to pick you up at airport. Unfortunately our shuttle went to the wrong terminal. We ended up taking a cab and the hotel reimbursed us. Also have shuttle to the zoo. The location is ok, very central, but no nightlife nearby. Gas Lamp Quarter is about 10 blocks south. Quick cab ride solved that. About $7 one way. Hotel will call cabs for you. Hotel did have a small breakfast area where you could order off a menu. Food was good.

I was at the hotel for one night only for a brief business trip. The hotel is going through renovations. A fast food cafe was the only option for eating. Uneventful and a bit pricey for what it was.

Very clean rooms, helpful staff, convenient location. Room was quite small, full sized bed was smaller than average. This is a typical Holiday Inn property, smaller rooms but well maintained. The full sized bed was a disappointment for two people. Check in staff was helpful and friendly. We had to call the front desk for two issues, firstly the in room hairdryer didn't work and secondly the toilet became clogged. In each case staff arrived to correct the problem within 10 minutes. Really no big deal. Really a very nice room for the price.

This hotel offered complimentary shuttle and breakfasts which was important when not knowing the city to make connections for cruise and airport. The shuttle picked us up at the airport very quickly - not far to the hotel. Looks are deceiving when arriving but the inside and rooms were wonderful. Clean, quiet, friendly helpful staff who took the time to draw maps to what we wanted to see and do. Breakfast is the best we've had at any complimentary breakfast hotel - great saving if you have children. Could be open a half hour later though. 9;30 a.m. is a bit early to close up. Staff were a little slow checking on filling up items for many people who were having breakfast. Great selection! Hotel is within walking distance to GasLamp district with great eating areas and shops. The cruise piers are right there as well. The complimentary shuttle could be booked to take you to the Zoo, Sea World etc. and back to the air port when departing. A person can buy a ticket for $5.00 each for the trolley train, a block or so away from the hotel at the vending machine outside where it stops, which is good to use all day to go anywhere it travels. We took it for the 45 minute trip to Tijuana, Mexico just to see the countryside, have a beer and return. Enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would highly recommend for the price we paid $89.00. Staff were very friendly and helpful
