Check in was quick and they even let us check in early because our rooms were ready. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The hotel was close to all the attractions. We walked to centennial park, CNN building and the acquarium. There was a steep hill heading into the park may be a little tough for someone really out of shape, take it slow. Parking was tough valet was $20. This was a late booking for us around the 4th of July, it was a great location because we walked from the park into our rooms in under 10 minutes. There seemed like a traffic jam for miles. There also seemed to be a rooftop unit outside our window making a humming. Still slept ok.If you are a light sleeper and easily bother by exterior noise you may want to investigate a little further.

The location was great! The GA aquarium & coca cola factory is about a 2 minutes walk away. I didn't like the mandatory $20 a day! Parking fee. You can park for $5 a day ten feet away from the hotel. The overall appearance of the hotel is nice. Not really family oriented. The rooms do not have a microwave or fridge. Only 20free channels. Channels like Disney and others cost money to watch! The extra $20 a day fee to park at the hotel is ridiculous, considering and independent parking lot just feet away only charges $5 a day. There isno continental breakfast. Breakfast starts at $13 a person.

The hotel was located is a great spot, especially if you will be visiting the CNN center, Phillips arena, etc! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean! Overall, the stay was great!

First suprize was the parking cost... a day, Valet Parking only. This substantially increased the cost of the stay. The construction started about 8 am with drilling which sounded like they were in my room. All the front desk could say was "I'm sorry for the inconvience"!! The area around the hotel was ok but not someplace you wanted to roam during the day. The Gift shop was non-existant (completely empty due to the construction). Maybe in a year when the work is completed, the hotel will be suitable for habitation again. I was extremely disappointed with the overall experience.

The first night we could not get back into our room because we were checked in under the wrong name. The second night again could not get back into to our room because they checked us out while we we out for the day. After the a second ask, they fixed the toilet. It would run after you flushed. I took off the cover and reposition the cup several times. At first they ask whether we wanted another room. That was not fixing the problem for the next person. The toilet was fixed after asking twice. The fourth day the swipe card did not work again and it had to be recoded. We did not have it near a cell phone or any other magnetic device. We kept our cards in our wallets. At breakfast, the staff in the dining room was very nice and constantly at your service.

We arrived at the hotel at 3:15 with 2 young children having spent the day at the Georgia Aquarium, ready to relax in our room. Check in was at 3:00, so being 3:15 we thought no problem...Wrong our room was not ready until almost 5:30--and then when we got to the room the beds were still not made. Our stay just continued to go down from there. There was the AC that stayed on at full blast even though it was "off," the toilet that would not stop running, and the total lack of any trash cans in the room. All of which we notifiied the front desk, all of which were NEVER taken care of. Then there was our trip to the swimming pool with our children, that was cut short by a another group who decided to go skinny dipping in a pool full of children--again hotel staff did nothing. Then there was being woken up in the middle of the night by our neighbors trashing their room in some sort of altercation, that had to be broken up by the police--not just hotel security. The next morning we decided to get breakfast in the dining room, and waited over 15 minutes just to get our drinks, when we asked the waiter how much longer our food would be after 45 minutes he got an attitude with us responding that they were busy and we would get our food when it was done. We left.. There are several other chains within walking distance of this hotel, and they might be more a night, but they would be worth it.

The first issue was that the building, and a huge building across the street are undergoing renovations. So, there was a LOT of construction noise during the day. The second issue was that Travelocity doesn't mention it the only parking at the hotel is a 20/day valet add on. So, the total price we had to pay in the end was a good bit more than that "Good buy" price we thought we were getting. The hotel itself was reasonably nice and clean. The fitness center equipment was in average shape. The area around the pool smelled bad, which might be from the construction.

We enjoyed our stay for a weekend long volleyball tournament. Location was terrific and rooms were very nice, quiet and comfortable. The front desk didn't seem to handle their business very well. Not very well staffed. This is a great hotel for a low maintenance visitor.

The hot spa, of course; and their beds are so comfy! The (compulsory) parking valet costs me 20 bucks a day! This hotel is obviously trying so hard to upgrade to somewhat 4 star hotel - the renovations and all are nice since I got a super-comfy bed, reasonably large room, huge bathroom, and the valet service - unfortunately they charge an overnight parking $20 per day. I guess thats how they do it in Atlanta. Hate it though. The hotel is less than 15 minutes walk to the Aquarium and World of Coke, just walk through the Centennial Park. The staff are friendly and really helpful - I learned to like them in no time.

I stayed three nights and I slept like a baby, 'cause bed was more than cozy; and in spite of beeing in downtown, hotel rooms are very quiet and you won't hear the roars of cars, I promise, also room was very clean and the bathroom as well. Hotel's location is more than excellent: two and a half blocks from Peachtree MARTA station, next to the Centenial Olympic Park, short walking distance to the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, CNN Headquarters, Georgia Dome. Surroundings are well iluminated and secure (there's a police station one block from the hotel). The restaurant: they bake the best biquits I ever ate in my life. Breakfast was OK. The bussiness centre is quite usefull and best of all... free, but also there's complimentary Wifi internet access. Rooms have flat TVs and the complimentary newspaper is, sadly, the USA Today (I expected the Atlanta Journal Constitution).

The Holiday Inn Georgia World Congress Center is newly renovated and has finally entered the 21st Century. It has a great location to the sports arenas downtown and to the Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca Cola. The rooms were nicely done and very modern and the new restaurant and bar were nice touches to the hotel. This is one of the only affordable hotels downtown. I caution you, however, that the valet staff is horrendous. They are disrespectful and could care less about being efficient and effective at their tasks. The Holiday Inn Hotel Staff was very accomodating and friendly and should not be confused with the outside valet staff, though. I would stay here again and hope that the valet staff has been replaced...it's just a pain to park anywhere else downtown and I would question safety of your vehicle being away from the hotel.

Everything. Location, cleanliness-Immaculate! Friendliness, helpfulness. Really top notch! It would be great to have a fridge and microwave in room. This was to have been a celebration with a friend though that did not occur. I had a Wondrously wonder-full time of adventure. Exploration and even heavenly rest with cloud nine bedding! It was a true vacation for myself in a most unexpected way! In Gratitude!

Very pleased with stay at hotel. Location was key to choosing this hotel. (walking distance to nearby attractions, (i.g. Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola Museum, Underground, etc...) Staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfartable. My only gripe is with the gift store. I do expect to get over charged for some items when I am on vacation. However, this store commits highway robberry. 20 oz soda, small bag of chips & an off brand honey bun was more than 5 dollars. Definitely would stay here again, just would purchase snacnks for my 6 year-old elsewhere. A suggestion would be to add at least one more kid channel on the cable selection.

The hotel lobby & front are under construction. The elevators were scary to ride in. The hotel staff were freindly and personal. Didn't like paying $20 per night for parking. Surprised that there was not a light breakfast available.

It is in a very good location. No place to get food in house after 10 pm. Have to go down to the lobby to parcel delivery. The hotel was nice enough. It was hard to find. I had reservations at the Holiday Inn on Capitol Ave. As a result, I gave the food delivery person the Capitol Ave address and never got the food I ordered. My husband, child and myself went to bed hungry that night. We had arrived around 9:30 pm and didn't have food by 11:30 pm, so we gave up and went to sleep. I was very ill. We also were not notified that we would have to pay $20/night for parking! Still, if I only paid for the room and $20/night parking, I guess it was okay. I just would have liked to have been told this in advance.

I thought the hotel was very nice. It was very close the aquarium. It was downtown and we had to pay to park for the night I was not expecting that. However I felt very safe there and the staff was very pleasant.

Location was excellent and parking staff was unbelievable! Night desk workers were a little snooty, housekeeping took like 45 minutes to be delivered to my room. Overall was a nice hotel, room was small but was appreciative of the fact that there was a pullout bed in the chair for my son.
