1st time outside of USA. hotel is located in chinatown. The hotel was great, very clean and friendly. Prepare to do lots and lots of walking. All the restaurants near this hotel are chinese/japanese (there is a mcdonalds right next to this hotel, again, very expensive and just because it's mcdonalds doesnt mean the menu is the same as your country!)

Location to all parts of Sydney we wanted to visit. Proximity to Darling Harbor. Internet access was way to expensive. Luckily there was free access across the street at McDonald's. Good size rooms. Ask for a window that isn't facing a wall for more light. Location is great.

The rooms have high ceilings which gives a spacious feel. The beds and pillows are very comfortable which is important if, like me you stay in hotels frequently.

i kinda disappointed staying here, the room is old and the location is hard to find , is a one way street .. is you plan to have a car while you are in sydney, staying in this hotel is not a good idea.. and parking is not in the same building, you have to walk a block away after you pay and park your car in the parking garage. ...also breakfast in not included, so you end up paying more than you staying in three stars hotel. The good part, the staff are friendly.

The overall stay at the hotel was very good. The staff was extrememly welcoming and very accomodating. The only thing was that the food wasn't the best; it was ok...but the scrambeled eggs were very watery for the breakfast buffet. The great location made up for it. It was a short walk to the Harbour with many restaurants and attractions. I'd definitely reccomend the hotel to someone and stay again myself.

Great location, friendly staff. Price for wireless way too high. Clean, very convenient (if you don't mind walking a bit) with a great staff. The only downside was the price of the wireless internet connection (over $25 a day), however if your room faces McDonald's across the street, they have free wireless. In our case the room didn't face McDonald's so we did all our surfing, email, etc. in the lobby where we easily picked up the signal. I would not hesitate togoto this hotel again!

We found the lighting in our room totally inadequate as it was impossible to read, even with the bedside light on. The wattage should be increased quite a bit as this was very annoying. and would certianly be a factor as to whether we would return or not. Also there was zero drawer space (but ample hanging space). This was also awkward having to go into our suitcase on a regular basis. We would like to comment that the service of all of your staff was exceptional.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn at Darling Harbour and found that it was located in a great area of Sydney. I was a block and a half from Paddy's Market where I could be reasonable gifts. The room was very nice, not much of a view but I was not in the room long enough for that to matter. This hotel was located in the Chinatown area and there were plenty of restaurants to choice from. This was the best possible location for what I was doing.

The rooms at Holiday Inn-Darling Harbour were typical to a Holiday Inn anywhere. The rooms are comfortable but basic, the maid service was friendly and competent, the concierge helped us with directions and luggage, and the meals were overpriced even for Sydney. It is quiet and comfortable and there are 2 washers and dryers on site to keep travelers from overpacking. My teen used the weight room, which had a sauna and hot tub available, and was satisfied with the facilities. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone. Hint - You have to use your room key to turn on the electricity in the room so it is best if all parties have their own keycard. The best thing was the location. Located right on the corner of a tourist bus stop, light train, and monorail, everything in Sydney is easy to get to. Even those with little experience with public transportation can get around Sydney easily from here. (Don't bother renting a car if you are staying in Sydney proper.) Darling Harbour is a very short walk away from the hotel with plenty of tourist activities, including Sydney Aquarium, Chinese Gardens, and many boating excursions. You can catch the ferry from Darling Harbour to get to the zoo or City Centre, where the Opera House is located. Across the street from the hotel is a farmer's market and mall. In the mall is a grocery store that has better prices than the convenience stores around Chinatown. Everything in Sydney is 2 - 5 times more expensive than Missouri so having a cheaper alternative next door is vital. The mall also has an internet cafe that is much, much cheaper than using the computer at the hotel. This hotel is a good choice.

My experience at the hotel was excellent. I asked the employees for advice on places to go and how to get there and received much assistance. Some of their insight even helped me to take a different destination thta I'm quite certain I actually enjoyed more.

The gym was good. The room decoration was a bit old. The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to Chinatown and right next to Darling Harbor. It has public transport within very easy reach. The rooms are spacious.

I would stay here again. The staff was very courteous and customer friendly. Always looking to please the customer. Buffet breakfast a bit pricey and selection limited, but the food was good. Location was accessible to multiple modes of transportation. Easy access for driving, but public transportation was very close. I stopped using the rental car.Location was close to much of the Sydney Center City and sights. There were times that we walked to places because of proximity. Most transportation was close. Shopping a two minute walk awayI would recommend without any reservations.

Clean, convenient, and comfortable - an A Plus! You need to use your key card to activate the elevator. So I need to fumble to get my card to get the elevator moving!

My family and I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, approachable and very helpful, the rooms were cleaned very well every day and the buffet breakfast was substantial. If I was asked to make a complaint about the hotel, I would have to say the pillows were very hard, although I did complain and 4 other different pillows were brought to the room for me to try. But I have to say I really enjoyed my stay. The lobby was airy and spacious and the bar seating area was comfortable. Our room also had complimentary bottled water and fruit every day which was a nice touch.
