Good value for moneyThis hotel offers excellent value for money. Very central for Birmingham shopping, etc.

Close to train station. The check in staff was too officious and not friendly. Nice hotel that met my needs. The rooms heater did not work and the small space heater I was given did not work. You could not make phone calls from the room and had to be asked to be connected. After I complained about the cold room I was immediately moved from the 2nd floor to the top floor (9th). The phone still did not work.

On business Excellent value for money. Clean and fresh although the carpets are a bit of a 60s throwback and I see what other reviewers mean about the dining room. Helpful staff and a great city centre location. Wifi up to speed. I would definitley stay again.

good location, nice facilities, breakfast was very nice too. Convenient city centre venue, exactly what we wanted for one night. Facilities are fine, room and staff were quite helpful. Not a new hotel but clean and tidy. A bit of noise outside on saturday evening but you can get that in any city.

Pleasantly surprisedHaving read previous poor reviews I was almost minded to cancel my stay and book elsewhere, but so glad I didn’t. The double room I had was very nice, modern, comfortable and clean – clearly one of the rooms that had been refurbished last year. At £55 it was very good value for money and I would definitely stay again.

Holiday Inn BirminghamReally good location with plenty of restuarants local to the hotel, 5 mins walk from the Bull Ring, and New Street Station. Room was fine, nice and clean, no bar in the room though. Parkings a pain, and expensive, so add another £15 on your budget.

Overnight Business TripI recentkly stayed at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City centre.I got a room which was on the 1st floor and to be honest you get a lot of noise at the rear of the hotel from the friendly bin men that come to collect the empty glass bottles at around 4:00am nice!But dont worry... the other binmen will be along soon at around 5:00am to empty the other bins followed by the delivery trucks at around 6:00am.Nedless to say... woke up at 4:00am could slepp until approx 7am then had to get up at 7:30am.My advice - dont stay in the lower floors unless you are the kind of person that can sleep through a hurricane!

The onky issue we found was that the dining room was extreamly crowded and it was embarressing to have to keep squeezing past people as they ate, just to get to your table. not to mention uncomfortable if you are that person being squeezed past constantly. however the food and service were excellent.

Nice hotel, not the best areaHotel room was really nice and clean but the wall the bed was against shared a wall with the lift shaft and with a hotel full of hen parties coming in all through the night I didn't much sleep.

We'd come back againWe stayed at this hotel to be local for a friends 40th, so just slept there and had breakfast the next morning. Room excellent, but tables so close together in the restaurant for breakfast it was like sitting at a table of 20 and was impossible to get past people to get to the self service food counters without asking people to move. I guess if you are not trying to have breakfast at peak time on Sunday morning there's no problem.Good value for money - and excellent city centre location. The hotel was extremely good value for money. Less than 5 minutes from the train station and the Bullring. The room was a good size and spotless. If we are in Birmingham again we would use this hotel.

Good location, Poor InternetThis hotel is slapbang in the middle of Birmingham, couple of minutes from New Street Station. The staff and the check-in process was good. Equally room service was speedy enough and the choice was good compared to other Holiday Inns.The only real moan was the WiFi in the room. It was free which is great but the speed was shocking for a City Centre hotel. The only reason I could think of was being on the 9th floor maybe affected it?? Had stayed in another HI the night before which was fairly rural and the WiFi was excellent.Recommended if you are not bothered about the Internet!
