We really enjoyed the rose gardens and Koi pound. Everything we wanted was pretty much on site. The staff were very nice and helpful. Even the restaurant was good. They even had a great coffee shop on site. The three pools made it fun for our kids since it rained and they could still swim.

The features & attractions are incredible. The grounds are beautiful. Nothing really. I didn't care for the bed, but my girlfriend liked it. The historic setting for this hotel is wonderful. The lobby, the dining facilities, the museums, and rose gardens in the court yard are all incredible. All of the rooms in the building we stayed in overlooked the pool, and were furnished quite nicely. This was far more than I expected when I booked the room.

Stayed in a traincar. The room was fun for the novelty, but not as nice as I was expecting. The problem was the room smelled very dusty and musty from old ventilation. The room was clean as far as housekeeping goes, it just smelled dusty. Had to take allergy medication to stay there. Couldn't find a room at another hotel, or I would have left immediately. The bathroom ceiling looked like it was about to fall in. My partner doesn't have allergies and he thought it was okay, but needed to be updated. I don't think the hotel has been renovated since it opened to the public in the late 1970s. It seems like the property was nice in it's day. There are 3 pools and a large complex with lots of activities and restaurants. The staff was nice. It's also kind of in a bad part of town. On the edge of an area with a lot of abandoned buildings.

I brought my wife here for her birthday getaway this year and I was disappointed when I saw how small the room was. I paid too much for 2 nights and it really wasn't worth what I am used to for the price. We also had a plumming problem. When taking a shower the water didn't immediately drain so therefore it pooled around your ankles. The toilet also had to be flushed more than once after each use. The hotel gounds were nice and the free shuttle service is right next door. Our overall stay was good but will stay somewhere different on the next trip. (No DVD player in rm)

The chattanooga choo choo is very decieving for the pictures they show of the hotels do not justify the actual appearance of the hotel rooms. Our hotel room had some safety hazzards, one of them was the sliding trail for the sliding door. This was a huge hazzard because the size of the sliding trail was so huge that one could easily trip and fall over the balcony (hopefully right into the pool). The hotel was very unkept many things in the hotel were dusty, room service items were not picked up within 24 hours, and the elevators were quarky. The hotel room we stayed in gave off a rancid oder. Overall, our stay at this hotel was somewhat unplesant.

My Grandson and I went to Chattanooga to attend the International Karate Championships held in the Convention Center. We enjoyed the Gardens especially when the torches were lit. What a beautiful and peaceful setting. Getting to the Convention Center was also a pleasure because of the short walk to the trolley cars and the ride there. We visited the beautiful Aquarium and ate at one of the nicest restaurants close to the Aquarium. We also took in all the wonderful sights like Ruby Falls, Rock City, etc. Then it was a pleasure to come home to our outstanding hotel-The Chatanooga Choo Choo. f For two very tired people, it was pleasure to come into a very clean, comfortable room with all the space we could ask for. Then off to the restaurant in the Chatanooga Choo Choo, and a pleasant, enjoyable, and relaxing swim in the indoor pool. For a my little Grandson who had never flown before, or stayed in such a large and beautiful hotel, it was indeed a WONDERFUL visit. Oh! My Grandson topped off his great trip with a Bronze medal in his age group in the Competition!! Thank you and the staff of the hotel for such an exciting and delightful experience.

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago. Okay, it isn't the Ritz. However, it is a charming property with a lot of history! I was impressed at how beautiful the gardens were. People talk about not feeling safe here.. but I was walking around by myself in the dark and felt perfectly safe.The rooms are not new but they are clean. My only complaint would be the "room service" which after 45 minutes of waiting I just strolled over and picked up my own dinner. The breakfast is lovely! The shuttle also stops at the property to take you to all the local attractions.I was impressed with the property. As you go in expecting a Holiday Inn I think you will be happy too!

We enjoyed our stay at the Choo Choo hotel. No regrets. The Trains were very exciting and fun for the children. The staff was very polite and professional. The rooms are a little out dated. We enjoyed visiting the hotel, however, the cost is a little pricey.

Staying in the train car. Nothing. This was such a great experience for the price. I upgraded the the train car and my 4 year old twins loved it! The room was clean and roomy for a family of 5. The restaurant for breakfast was well staffed and they were so accommodating. This was a great experience and so close to Rock City.

We were in bldg. 1 with the heated indoor pool. It was great, we took the free bus downtown everyday. We did not rent a car so we were unable to get to rock city but took bus to incline. The Cafe food was not too warm each time we ate there, everything else was great! Took free shuttle to Sticky Fingers for ribs everyday, it was the best ribs ever.

The Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel was very comfortable, with double beds in the rooms and convenient dinning on campus. The location of the hotel in Chattanooga was perfect for our daily tours. Free shuttle access is provided to local attractions such as the Tennessee Aquarium, I-Max theater, and Discovery Museum for Kids. The most enjoyable thing about this hotel, is the railroad themed complex. The complex includes an old time steam engine, a trolly, and the famous Model Railroad museum. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would not only recommend to a friend, we will return there someday.

This hotel had a great train theme with actual train cars as rooms. The gardens were beautiful and great businesses were included on the hotel grounds. Great hotel for the accommodations and family oriented businesses. Great shops and beautiful gardens. Well worth the visit.

Historical, My child liked trains. Hallways were dirty, room needs some repair work. Historical place to stay with a lot of rooms. The gardens were nice as well as the train theme. Restaurants were on site though we didn't dine there. We originally were put in a smoking room which was not suitable but were moved to a more suitable room. The hotel hallways needed cleaning and the swimming pool was being renovated/repaired. The staff was great.

Fun setting and easy transport to downtown. Cockroach in the room. Generally the hotel was nice, the staff was friendly, and it was a really fun atmosphere. Unfortunately our room seemed to be a little outdated, and the shower in the bathroom next door made a lot of noise in our room. The last morning we were there, we discovered a huge cockroach in the bathroom.

Location. Distance from parking to room was excessive. Need to eliminate smoking rooms as the smoke smell does not stay behind closed doors. For non smokers, cigarette smoke stinks and the smell stays around.
