great location to get to shopping malls and local stores. The hotel clerks were friendly and helpful the room was nice and roomy my mother is handicapped and we had a room close to the elevator which was helpful also.

Felt unsafe to walk out of hotel. Very bad neighborhood surrounding hotel.

This hotel is located in a very unsafe area in downtown allentown. We would not recommend staying here.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
The room was very nice. I was satisfied with the king sized bed, television, bathroom, and towel selection. The vending machine options were not good at all. There was no way to acquire late night snacks and few drink options. When I looked at the Amenities advertisement, a Jacuzi was listed. But there was not one at the hotel. That was disappointing.

Great appearance. Restaurant or bar closed too early.

"I am from Northern PA. The sticks/ or the middle of nowhere as some might say. I came down to celebrate an early holiday with my family. They suggested I stay at the Crowne Plaza. I am scared of the city, and city people as it is. The Crowne Plaza was so welcoming and understanding of my needs and concerns. The staff ALWAYS had a smile on their faces and eager to help. Not to mention the rooms! They are the largest rooms I ever saw in a hotel! I can't wait to come visit Allentown again....just to visit and learn more. And I recommend the Crowne Plaza 100%."

This room was very nice and larger than most hotel rooms. It was very close to Dorney Park. Had to wait awile to be seated in dining area.

Friendly desk clerk. Handicapped bathroom, sink layout and door location. It is not very safe for a single traveler. You must go around the block to park in the garage. The hotel provided a list of evaluating questions but we left it there by mistake.

"This hotel has improved tremendously over the past year. Much better management and staff throughout the hotel. I have notified my entire company, as I was the one who took all the business out of the hotel due to service & product issues. "

I pretty much loved everything about the hotel, but there were a few minor things that I frowned at. First, when I got there, it took about 15-20 mins for me to check in. Then I went to check the room which was awesome except for the fact that there were stains in the carpet that I guess they didn't have the chance to properly clean. Also, I asked for asked for a fridge the first day I got their--it was only $10 a day to rent--but I never got the fridge; I did however get my $10 back without a problem. Other than those three minor things, the room service was so efficient, the location was ridiculously convenient--I went to a concert a few blocks down at the Croc Rock Cafe--the staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. I got to use the business area, which I didn't have to pay for even though there was free internet in my room and my parking was validated--only $6 a day which I thought was awesome coming from Jersey. Also, the beds were very comfortable.

Very nice accommodations. It's about 8 miles off the interstate, in the downtown area of Allentown. Good room service and friendly staff.

My whole experience while at the Crowne Plaza was overall satidfied. The staff was very friendly. They didn't pass through you are not look up when you just walked by! Everyone was happy you are there!

The Holiday Inn Allentown City Center was very comfortable and quiet, had a good desk space for a laptop and an especially nice bathroom. It was definitely the best location, because you could leave your car in the parking garage and walk to all the restaurants. The hotel does not come with breakfast, but there is an absolutely fabulous and very inexpensive deli(Deli Plaza)a block south on Hamilton Street.

Hotel was clean, good location, service was excellent, even offered me a free shuttle to the concert.

I chose this hotel for its location. The beds were comfortable and the room was well equipped. Hair dryer, coffee machine, and iron are all available. There is an indoor pool and a recreation center inside hotel. However, the plumbing was less than adequate. Hotel runs out of hot water at times. Had to delay taking bath for an hour. Most of the plumbing fixtures were loose and hard to get turned off. Really needs some work. Everything else was fine. This hotel is in the center of the city. Restaurants, stores, shopping and several points of interest are within a short distance.

I liked the atmospere and decor. Did not like having to pay for parking, plus locale. I like the comfort and it was quiet. Liked the old time decor and personnel.

"Rooms have been upgraded and are large and well-furnished. I have stayed here several times and the beds are marvelous. The reception staff needs improvement, but once beyond that, the hotel is fine."

Great staff. Musky odor. I was worried about the area and crime but it was pretty quiet, no homeless people, no loud noises. I would ofcourse still not venture into unknown parts of the town.

"I was extremely satisfied with the stay! The room was large, bed was super comfortable, the staff was so kind and helpful. The restaurant was excellant and the food quality was the best I had in a long time."
