We stayed in this hotel while driving back and forth to Vienna, McLean and Herndon. Without traffic it was a 25 minute drive to Herndon. We walked around the mall and Smithsonians and back to the hotel, no taxi needed. Friendly front desk service, clean rooms, good location. YEH for the Starbucks in the lobby!

This was a family Spring Break trip & we were looking for a hotel that was convenient to the sites in DC, this hotel was PERFECT!! We took the Metrorail from the airport & were less than a block away from the hotel (sure beats the cost of a cab!) We were walking distance from just about everything, The Mall, The Capitol, The Museums, etc..The hotel was very clean, the staff was wonderful, the rooms were large. We traveled with two 7 year olds & everyone was very accomodating. We will definately be back!!

We were mostly only at the hotel to sleep. The food at the hotel was okay, but not great. The room was great. Very roomy, clean, lots of towels, air conditioning. I really liked it there

On a number of occasions during our 2 day stay the shower ran cold after a few minutes. But the best part was the freight trains that ran just outside my window very early every morning and when I complained at the front desk the clerk gave me a hard time. never again

This is a great hotel and an awesome location. I loved the idea of the free kids meals but felt like I overpaid on the the adult meals to compensate for it. The pool was cold.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kids didn't swim much because the pool was cold. Also, I had to pay for parking in the garage. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurants had good food and the deli was convenient for a quick bite. The hotel has an outdoor pool and tended to be a little too cold for the kids to swim. I would stay here again.

The hotel was great for our travel party. We used two room, one for a senior couple and the other for two adults and two kids (8 & 5 years old). The Front Desk Staff was great and offered FREE meal coupons for the kids at the hotel's bistro. THe rooms were clean large and included an in-room refrif and free WiFi. In addition to the Bistro the hotel has a nice giftshop and a bar & grill. Also A Starbucks is located on the property with direct access from the Lobby. THe are is immediately adcant to the Air & Space Musem and several government office buildings (Education, FEMA & TRansportation), so after 5pm the area is dead with no real options for late night dining near the hotel. There is a McDonald's at the end of the block which our kids enjoyed. Most landmarks are within a short walk, we walked to the Ford's Theater and it was about 20 min and the White House is about the same or less. Grayline offers a SightSeeing Bus Tour that picks up across from the Air & Space Museum which is less than 5 min. walk from the hotel. We all liked the hotel and would consider when we return to DC.

If you are on the "quiet side," this hotel is the best you can get, especially for the price. Location is the greatest, pool is great, room was great, and staff couldn't have been greater. Other than having to wait to 3:00 pm to check in (already knew that), this place was perfect for a family w/an 8 year old!

I have stayed in the Holiday Inn Capitol twice now and have been very satisfied both times. It's extremely convenient to the museums on the mall and Metro stops. Has multiple eateries inside the hotel (including Starbucks) and two fast food places in the same city block. CVS Pharmacy located in the same city block too. Nice neighborhood, quiet area, although one of the front desk staff told me to ask for a room on the quiet side of the hotel because there is a train nearby. I think I ended up on the "noisy" side of the hotel because I could see the train tracks from my room, but it didn't bother me. All in all I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again when I go back to DC.

The convenience, location and staff were wonderful. There is a gift shop (open late), a bar & food, a little deli style eatery for brkfast, lunch and snacks, also a fine dining restaurant. McDonald's was just a block down the street as well as a drugstore. Starbucks is also available, altho' most of their employees were rude. There was a gentleman in the hotel lobby everyday from 8:00 a.m. til 8:00 p.m to help you with finding tour groups and trolly cars . The hotel location was close enough to walk to the Space museum, the Capitol and the Indian museum. The beds were comfy and the room nicely decorated. Plenty of white fluffy towels were available. A small refridgerator was also provided. I can't say enough good things about the Holiday Inn.

Due to the rates, we could only afford to stay 1 night. The parking rates should have been included in the stay. The person that worked in the gift shop followed us around as if we were going to steal something. I didn't appreciate that at all. I had a hard time understanding most of the the people that worked at your front desk. I also told them about the lopsided bed mentioned above

Location. Had trouble securing a microwave at no charge. The Holiday Inn Capitol is ideally located close to a metro station, closed to a drug store and a 7 minute ride to Ronald Reagan Airport. The staff is friendly and willing to help in any way.

Holiday inn lived up to its name. It is a clean Hotel and very helpful staff. Close to the bus stops and the underground metro. Tha train station. You can walk to the Capitol four maybe five blocks away. Most of the museums were walking distance. There was three of us, and if we didn't want to walk or wait on the bus we would catch a taxi which was always between 8 and 11 dollars. 15 dollars from the airport. The breakfast at the Hotel was very good. My Dad had the buffet which had a very good selection. I ordered off the menu and it was great. There is a drug store right next to the Hotel and a Mcdonalds and sandwich shop next to the drug store. I will stay at that Holiday Inn when I get to go back to Washington D.C.

The location is excellent in terms of accessing The Mall. The room was clean; the air conditioning worked, which was good, considering the heat & humidity. The breakfast for room service was late by 15 minutes, which was frustrating, since the reason for wanting room service in the first place was a tight schedule that morning and not wanting to deal with the uncertainty of a sit-down meal. The pool is pleasant, but two out of the three times we used it in the evening, there were no towels. When I asked the hotel pool attendant for more towels, the first seemed put out; and the second was able to find just two towels for the two of us. The cleaning staff, when we encountered them, were very polite and thorough. All in all, it was a good stay, not perfect, but good.

The hotel is one block from the National Mall. It is walking distance to everything! Nice hotel for a nice price in the heart of DC. Within walking distance of everything. About one block from Aerospace museum. Room was clean and the employees were very nice.
