Nice rooms and location. Staff need training. TV did not get ABC or NBC. I would not recommend this hotel despite the location and nice rooms. The staff took over 20 minutes to check us in. When we wanted to watch TV in the evening we could not get ABC or NBC, nor was their a correct channel guide. When we called the desk to inquire we were told that is how it is. This is a fine facility but one of the worst hotel experiences I have had due to the poorly trained staff.

this was a very nice, clean and bright hotel. there were no elevators, but only two floors with an easy to get up stairway. the only complaint i had was that we were locked out of our room before check out time.

Nice hotel in a very remote location. Close to the canyon. Staff was very hospitable.

Waitress and one of the front desk clerks were not very friendly. The front desk did not apologize for the overnight failure: phones, internet.

The minute I opened up the room, the odor of the place smelled like dead fish and hot trash. I had to open up the sliding door and turn on the fan to get rid of the smell that took a few hours to ventilate out. Turns out whoever cleaned last and/or stayed never flushed the toilet after he/she used it. Just lovely! It would've been nice if the room came equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave for the price you paid (not sure if there are higher priced rooms have this option). The room on the other hand was clean and tidy. The continental breakfast delivery option to your room is a bit of a joke and very overpriced as they charge nearly $ for a piece of toast, juice and fruit when you can go down into their restaurant and they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for $(not sure what they offered). Overall, the place is okay at best if you need a place to stay after visiting the Canyon de Chelley. There is very little to do around town at all so be sure to bring a laptop to take advantage of the free internet access in the hotel and bring things to amuse yourself.

The rooms all have indoor entrances and the outside wall is windows -- it was spacious, sunny, airy, and secure. The Holiday Inn is located very close to the entrance to the mouth of Canyon de Chelly -- convenient! The restaurant was quite nice, and kids eat free. We were also impressed with the staff's helpfulness and received good service overall. Our experience was very pleasant.

The hotel room was very clean and quiet. We did need to call down for towels. Had the room reserved for 4 adults, only had 3 towels. Hotel was easy to find and close to our activities. Was a bit pricey, but was only one of two hotels in the area, so I guess they could get away with it. The service in the restaurant was lousy. Waitress told us our food would be out in 10-15 min. It was probably closer to 40-45min. Didn't get the right dressing with the hot wings meal, requested a side order of ranch with a sandwhich order, finally went up to the salad bar and dished up what was needed. we were done eating by the time the waitress came out with it. Drinks were not refilled. The food and price was decent, and good atmosphere, just bad service.

Comfortable but small beds relatively clean I would stay here again when in Chinle. Beds were a bit small. Good, pretty clean motel, can easily recommend as a good place to stay in Chinle, AZ.

The hotel was an oasis in the middle of a desert. Staff, food, room and facility were top notch. It was the best place we stayed during our vacation.

The setting was picturesque, close to the canyon, and just outside of town, giving it an Arizona desert feel. Outdated 80's southwest decor. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We got in late and left early,so it was not an extended stay for us, however, we liked the fact that it felt like we were in a rural southwest setting. The decor was a little outdated, but not too bad. We would go back and stay longer another time, and explore the beautiful country and culture!

Clean rooms, excellent service, good staff, good bed andquiet surroundings. This Inn was a welcome place to stay for the two nights we were there on our project. You got to love a clean room and good bed in the desert.

"The slow, lackadaisical restaurant service was exasperating for travelers who need to get on with their day. Wait staff, on 3 occasions simply didn't respond to requests for a spoon, a condiment, refilling the french toast on morning buffet...no morning paper...no internet access"

Was the quality, cleanliness, attractiveness, and friendliness I expected. Weather caused a power outage from approximately 2 pm till 6 am and I still had to pay complete bill. The hotel met or exceeded all of my expectations, including safety and charm. Close to everything, nice restaurant and gift shop, friendly staff, nice grounds. Newly renovated.

The location to the attractions near by. The pool was dirty and not heated.

Excellent location. Able to get a canyon tour from the hotel on a moment's notice. Got a dirty room. Front desk not overly friendly. Exercise room was dirty with old equipment. The hotel was fine overall. My room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. However room was not very clean. The bathroom had enough hair in it to make a wig and the carpet or something, smelled as soon as the air conditioning was turned down. I reported it directly to housekeeping and the front desk and they said they would take care of it. When I returned to the room after a day of sightseeing the bathroom was clean and the smell seemed to be gone but when I woke up the next morning there was a horrible smell that was nauseating. The front desk didn't really care about the problem when I check out.
