Both pools were closed which was an issue for us as we had planned to spend some time in the pool. I think that was the most disappointing. The fan in the bathroom was broken so taking a shower created a sauna. Location was very nice, very close to V-Tech. Nice to ahve a refrigerator in our room. Beds were comfortable, better than many hotels we have stayed at.

The sheets and bed were very nice - I was surprised. The bathtub mat didn't look clean enough maybe just old.

You cannot beat the location. It is the closest hotel to campus. The hotel staff is friendly and the hotel has many amenities. We enjoyed the pool as it was a hot summer day.

The Blacksburg Holiday Inn is located right across Prices Ford Road from Va Tech and its new conference center. What do you get at the Holiday Inn? Well even though it's in the process of a terrific renovation, you get lots of glass in your room as you look out to beautiful quiet gardens with both indoor and outdoor pools. You also will experience the nicest and most courteous hotel staff we experienced in a long time (and that includes some of those fancy mountain spas). You also can enjoy a sleeper of a great restaurant/bar with a varied menu and a reasonably priced wine cellar. Stay close to Tech, save money and have a much better Tech experience.

Location, helpful and friendly staff. No coffee in the room to go with the coffee maker. No fan in the bathroom. No bench or rack to hold my suitcase. Great place for the specific intent of my trip. No negative or positive suprises.

We have stayed in a few other hotel that we found online only to be shocked at the conditions. This Holiday is consistently clean and neat. We always know we'll get a good night's sleep when we stay here.

The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed our 2 night stay there as we toured Virginia Tech for a college visit for our daughter. The indoor pool was closed for repairs and the outdoor pool was not heated. So it was very cold. The buffet breakfast was good. It was very clean.

Location - proximity to Virginia Tech and our daughter's apartment. The room we stayed in was worn compared to same hotel staying in a different room last summer. It was fine for our purpose.

The hotel was in the midst of renovation which made the most dreadful smell. There had been no warning that this was going on as I never would have stayed there had I known.

Holiday Inn University in Blacksburg, VA is a good place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Quiet and well located. The staff was nice, helpful and available. Fresh coffee all day in the lobby with small coffee makers in the rooms. The restaurant had a good breakfast buffet which was reasonably priced, and even cheaper with the Priority Club membership and since membership was free, we joined and enjoyed the discount. Walking distance to the VT campus. Walking distance to the University Mall.

The pool was nice. The dining did not have breakfast; they deliver to the room with delivery charge plus tax, plus cost of meal for breakfast.

noisy rooms. No extra blankets available. Hard pillows. Top dollar for a low-buck hotel stay.

I was very happy with this hotel. All the staff was friendly and helpful, it was located right across the street from the Virginia Tech campus, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the room! There was a king bed and a fold-out couch, as well as a small refrigerator and microwave. The room was very clean and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and all the furniture was comfortable and looked pretty new. The vanity area was separate from the bathroom, and the toiletries they provided were really high-quality. The only drawback is that they do not provide complimentary breakfast, but there is a restaurant inside the hotel so there is no need to go far to find food. Overall, this was one of the best hotels I have stayed at for a very reasonable price - I definitely recommend it.

I was impressed with the decor and the cleanliness. The mattresses were quite comfortable. The smokers outside the entrances. Better that, though, than in the hotel. This hotel is conveniently located close to the VA Tech campus. I stayed there while picking my daughter up from her year at the school. My purpose for travel was highly labor intensive: long hours in the car and packing out a dorm room so I was very pleased by the comfort and cleanliness of the room. It is also convenient to eateries so we could have our choice for meals. Though I didn't eat in the restaurant, it looked very appealing.

The Holiday Inn at Blacksburg looks nice from the outside and the room where set up very nice. This was my first stay. My son and I where there for orringtation for Va Tech . It is located in a good part of town and near by the campus. It was several things that I did not like about the hotel. The ice bucket had water left in it. The beds where so used that it was hard for a over weight person to sleep in them. Our phone was not working to dial out local. The air condition was the worst. It made so much noise that you could not sleep , so we turned it off , then it was so hot that you had to turn it on again . The next day we where very tired because we did not get much sleep the night before . I and very sorry but it was not a good place to stay or maybe we just got a bad room ROOM 138

Proximity to University and to son's off-campus housing. Room was very small. Not only would I use this facility again, I would also recommend it to other family travelers and other families with students at Virginia Tech institute.

Convenient to VT campus and shopping. Rooms were well worn. Way overpriced for what you get. Breakfast not included.

Food and desserts in the bar was great. Breakfast was not very good at the restaurant. Well kept and clean, met my expectations for a Holiday Inn.

Convenient , acceptable and clean. Looked old, staff was just okay (not stellar), musty. This hotel was nice. It is very convenient if you are trying to get to VTech (the location is across the street from the school). One thing that was not mentioned however, was that it is still a difficult walk to depending on where you are going. However, the hotel has a shuttle, which I recommend. The hotel was clean, nice, and the staff were fine.

The restaurant and bar were both closed when we arrived at 3:00 pm. Needs some updating. The room was very comfortable, however, it is dated. The toilet seat had chipped paint and cracks. Also, the bar and restaurant were closed at 3:00 pm when we arrived, starving. We had to go across the street to get a sub. Just an inconvenience.
