Too many people, too few staffI think that they should be more careful with their bookings. The AAAsweekend, awedding and a coach party meant that independent travellers had toqueue 4 deep at the bar and were not able to use the restauant. Suggest they build more bar facilities and have more staff for busy periods if they intend to book like this.

Comfortable accessible. Supper a bit expensive for the quality. Very good, priced right. Would recommend it to any one.

Business tripHotel and food very good . Staff very helpful .Suggest that if booking a taxi to take you to station on morning of departure you allow an extra half hour as hotel is situated on a very busy road with many traffic hold ups

The hotel was an ideal base for Birmingham with our family. It was unfortunate that the restaurant floors were being sanded while we were there, but I suppose these jobs have to be done at some time. Our only big crititism is that the swimming pool was VERY dirty!!!

Bed was uncomfortable. Like sleeping on the side of a mountain!. Otherwise all was fine.

Got free upgrade - rooms bit tired looking but quiet and for the price a real bargain

Hotel was OK generally. Room was dirty and cramped. Bathroom was filthy and very cramped. Spa and pool old and in need of a Refurb but generally good facilities. Location is good, right next to J7.

We booked a double room in mid-May and on our arrival (16th August) we checked in and went to our room. We arrived to discover it was a single room. The person on check-in did not mention it to us when we checked in (it was obvious there were two of us!). We called reception and they said there was nothing they could do about it. In the morning we were offered a 25% discount, and finally agreed on a 75% discount. This seemed reasonable but we were disappointed that they thought it was acceptable to check us into the room without notifying us, or notifying us in advance of our check-in when they realised there was a problem.

We paid £65.00 for the room, which was really out-dated. The bathroom was disgusting, it did not look appealing at all. I made a couple of phone calls from the room to a mobile phone, my bill came to £25.00 just for the calls which i refused to pay. This was a 3* star hotel not a 5* it was a complete waste of money! Also the beds were not comfortable at all, the pillows were tooo soft!

The bar food was good although it took a long time to come and was a bit pricey and the beer was not great. The breakfast had a good choice but we found the quality below par. I think you could find better for cheaper.

Enjoyed our short stay. But did feel that we could have been given a ground floor room outright, as we asked for on our booking request form.

Staff at all levels were very helpful and obliging, room was perfect for our needs, it was even near a short cut to the pool which was excellent. Food was very tasty, miles better than at Chester and Hemel earlier in the year, although they ran out of spoons at every meal! Bed was really comfy. It was a shame they got the bill quiet so wrong at check out, but they did sort it all out without any fuss. There was some disruption in the evening with other guests having an argument!

Hotel more of a travelodge quality but not as good. In need of modernisation and felt very shabby. Hotel brekfast setup was like a typical 3 star breakfast buffet somewhere in Spain..

The staff on the desk were surly. Half way through the evening someone came into our room with a key because the receptionist booked out our room again. When I complained I was told by the duty manager that my husband had locked himself out of the room, and he could not get back in so therefore someone else opened the door for him. Now my husband did not leave the room and we were all watching telly when the other guest burst in. I was then told by the manager it was not his fault but the other member of staff, who had not been there very long. I thought this was very unprofessional of Th emanager to blame the a colleague in front of him. I was then issued another key pass. My room was 303 miles away from the reception. I then went back up to the room only to find the second pass key did not work. My husband came out and said someone had rung the room asking for his name and if we had booked a double. My husband was horrified and told them that we had booked over a week ago on the internet. We then all went back down to the reception to inform them that the second key did not work and we could not get back in the room. The manager gave us another one and assured us it would work. He could not give us any explanation as to why after we had been booked into the room two hours previously, the room was booked out again.Room service was very slow and very expensive. One of our party ended up with food poisoning, obviously we cannot prove this was the hotels fault, but it was the last food that was eaten on Saturday. She is still unwell this being tuesday and has not been able to eat anything since then. The bed was broken and the hairdryer made a burning smell when we tried to use it. I told reception but they did not seem bothered about this.I have stayed in many hotels all over the country, this is the worst one. I will not be recommending it and would certainly not stay again.

Very convenieint location next to Gravelly Hill interchange. Not much to look at, but nice grounds, in the countryside, and suprisingly quiet. Food was OK, if a little expensive and the dining room did not make it seem like a special occasion.. No decent beer in the bar. Gym was small but well equipped. Staff were pleasant. Would use it again Next time Bury FC are playing in the area.
