Shower, taps not working properly. Low quality bed. No air conditioning and no complementary internet access, all of which is a bit shocking for the price. Not a four star.

Modern, 4* with great gym and pool next door included.Very modern hotel (didn't even appear on my sat nav) lovely reception, room was big and comfy. Food was very good. Bannatynes gym and pool next door is included and is worth making time for.

Weekend at Brooklands, 13th June 2009Lovely weekend, the grill is a great place to eat although a little expensive. Be prepared for weddings in the summer, there were two parties of guests staying at the hotel when we were there with young girls throwing up in the toilets! We didn't mind so much as we chatted with some of the guests outside but might be off putting if you were after a quiet time. Room was lovely, breakfast great.

We stayed one night at the Brooklands and had a very pleasant experience. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and had no problems with the late check in. The room was comfortbale and clean. We were about 10 minutes late for breakfast, but the staff were very friendly and accomodating and allowed us to have breakfast. We were able to use the swimming pool at the gym next door even after we had checked out.

Decent place, friendly staff, dirty bath......OK place for a large hotel near a motorway. Staff are all friendly and helpful, which will always make up for any minor faults a hotel has. Food was OK - weird kedgerie, but the steaks we had for dinner were excellent. Breakfast buffet was standard, but good quality. The room was very standard, but the BIG PROBLEM was that the floor of the bath was greasy / sticky. Totally gross. Unlikely to stay here again, but would recommend if you need to stay close to Barnsley, off J37 of the M1.

Accomodation was of an excellent standard. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Location was easy to find. Leisure centre facilities were very good. Only thing I would say is to bring a hairdryer as one in drawer is not very good and a pain.

One DisadvantageThe guest rooms do not have air conditioning...but desperately need it!

I have used this hotel for many years and have always found it to be very good value for money.I use this hotel because it is conveniently placed, i have use of the Gym next door and it is always good value. I would reccommend to anyone.

Decent place - nothing special, but comfortable and clean....Decent place if you're in Barnsley area. Rooms are nothing special - same as any you'd come across in any standard hotel. Food was pretty good - had a Chicken Caesar and it was nice. Got room delivery when I ordered at the bar - very friendly. Breakfast was standard, but all good and fresh cooked. All staff very friendly, including Reception team.

Convenient for M1Overall, generally very good value. Food average but well presented. Good facilities but health club is next door and does not belong to the hotel. Don't know if this happens throughout the hotel but could hear noise from the bar in the room and also doors were slammed constantly throughout my stay both during the day and evening. Can hear guests in adjoining rooms, especially shower and bathroom!

Super Place to stay, spaciousSuper stay at the brooklands we were suprised at the size of our romm which was excellent. Staff were super & I really cannot fault this place.

Good Hotel - Excelent GymReally quite a nice hotel. Room was clean, and in good condition. The only negative was that the TV wasn't great - not even all UK freeview channels were available, and BBC reception was unwatchable. The hotel is attached to a gym club, which has really excelent facilities - if you are a gym freak (like me!) then you will e very happy!

Room fully equipped although internet wouldn't work in room which was a pain! Food in restaurant was poor, and very overpriced!

Accomodation okay, but walls were very thin, could hear everyting in roooms next to me.Staff were always friendly.Bar food was not good - was a bit ill one night from a simple meal of chicken skewers.Would probably not stay here again.

We had no problems here. The hotel is a typical modern four star. No great character, but plenty of space, and does it's job fairly well. Breakfast is a reasonable spread, but all kept warm for hours, and nothing cooked freshly. The health club next door is excellent, and included in the room rate.

Good value for money at the price I paid, recommended for any business travellers.

A colleague had recommended the hotel and it was as he had set out - attractive, spacious room, quiet, good car-parking, easy access from motorway - all in all very pleasant and good value. Didn't try the restaurant but breakfast has good selection.

The hotel evening meal was terrible, did not feel it was fresh, just heated up. I did wonder why very few were eating but now I know….
