The beautiful snow covered ski mountain and scenic view pictured as part of the Holiday Inn Bangor is no where to be seen. Bangor is the flattest place in Maine, from what I heard the closest ski resort is 1.5 hours away. Nearly all rooms have double good luck getting a king size. Over all the pool and hot tub served its purpose but are kinda scuzzy. The facility must have been built in the early 80's with little updating. There is a Gold?s Gym in the building next door and is not physically connected so you have to walk out side in sub zero temperatures back & forth. Also, the pool is dual marketed as both the Gold?s Gym pool & the Holiday Inn pool. The Gold?s members are kinda have an attitude towards hotel guests. The hot tub is very small, it doesn?t make sense why they built it so small given the amount of room they have to work with. The hot tub is set in the floor and the ribbing along the floor has a lip where dirty water congregates into a swampThe main reason I choose H.I. was for the pool/hot tub which I did use 2 or 4 nights however I closed my eyes when getting into the dirty grey hot tub water.

Got some great advice from the front desk on tourist options. A lot of noise from the gym next door. The hotel is a typical Holiday Inn. Steer away from rooms on the same side as the adjacent gym (noisy all night). Close to the airport but otherwise a pretty average location. Not conducive to taking an evening or morning walk, and if you want to find somewhere to eat, it's quite a drive. The in-house restaurant food was good but the atmosphere is lacking (bar and restaurant need serious updating).

We ended up staying here after getting a smoking room only at the travelodge. So Holiday Inn was the only place with a room open that weekend. We had a beautiful room and service was top notch. One night my 7 yr old had a very bad cough at 11pm, the front desk staff who was finished her shift at 1130, drove to Walmart for us in Bangor and got cough medicine and brought it back. Couldn't have been happier staying here. We did use the pool..very nice and clean as well. Lots of towels there.Louise

We loved the Hotel and the location.. great for shopping in Bangor. The buffet breakfast was supberb and the staff very friendly and nice. Had fun at the lounge and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Would recommend it to anyone!

The room was a good size with two queens. The amenities in the room were excellent. No security or surveillance - rear entrance key entry broken. Area dark. Overall our stay was pleasant and quiet. The room was comfortable and spacious. The room had a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker at no extra charge. My only concern was that there is obviously no security or surveillance. The rear entrance door we used the key entry was broken and allowed free excess to the hotel. There was a car parked across the entrance all night and half of the next day. I reported this upon checking out - they were unaware.

The bartender was very friendly and helpful. Generally could use some updating. This is a basic hotel. A bit dated and dingy. Basically clean.

Bed was comfortable. Very over-priced for what you received. Was not impressed for the dollar value. Room needs repairs.

The location. Not very clean and smelled of smoke. Not bad, but the smoke was terrible. It was in the halls.

The quality of the food in the restaurant for breakfast was very good. Although it was a non-smoking room, there was a strong smell of stale cigarette smoke. It would have been fine had it not been for the smell of smoke in our room (118, I think) which was marked as a non-smoking room.

Location is good - very convenient for us since we were attending an event in Bangor with relatives. Hotel is dated.
