Date of Stay:

We had gone for the 2009 Cherry Blossom festival in D.C. This hotel was in a great location, within walking distance to the Metro station and restaurants. They do have onsight restaurant if you did not want to leave the hotel and offered free shuttle service within a 1 mile radius. They also had plenty of parking at the hotel (not a parking garage)and offer free parking on Friday and Saturday. We had 4 adults in 1 room and were all comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful with our needs and questions. If you want to stay away from the crowds and traffic but be within 5 miles of D.C. this is a great location for the price and convienence. We have no complaints and would stay here again.

Location. The air conditioning in the room did not work well making it very uncomfortable to sleep. The room looked great for a Holiday Inn but we were not happy with our stay. Although the air conditioning felt cold coming out of the unit under the window, the vents were pointed straight up. This unfortunately did not cool the room. We sweated all night sleeping with no blanket or sheet. When we explained the situation to the front desk in the morning they were not responsive. They just told us that the manager was not on duty until Monday! Would not consider this a 3 star hotel.

Room was comfortable. Liked the 'fridge, workout room and shuttle. Would have preferred a non-smoking room.

Less than five bloicks to the METRO. Easy trip into DC.The train lines are color coded for easy use. Run frequently. You can buy tickets with a credit card or cash in easy to use machines. There is real live help,if needed. Park the car in the hotel lot and take it in or out at will. Or better still leave it. Free van service within a mile.....Metro, shopping, etc. THE ONE FAULT...THE LIGHTING OR LACK OF IT IN THE ROOM. TWO BEDS, ONE LAMP. TOUGH READING IN BED

Clean and convenient. Has business computer but printer doesn't work.

Everything was really good, except for the bathroom. There was no bathroom fan, so when you took a shower it got really steamy and stood that way for awhile. Also fans are important when you're sharing a room with other people. Another thing about this hotel was that there was no complimentary breakfast. For being the holiday inn, I thought we would get at least a muffin and some fruit, but no, we had to pay for everything. This hotel was comparable to a comfort inn but with a really nice and expensive restaurant inside of it.

The room was clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly, and it was just 2 blocks to the Metro. A great place to stay when visiting the D.C. area.

We just got back from H.I. Ballston. Excellent locaiton. The Ballston Metro is a easy 2 block walk. There is a Ruby Tuesdays & IHOP beside the Metro plus several other dinning places. Parking was easy and only $7 per day, some places in DC charge $*+. Nice size pool, clean rooms, no problems at all. I'm looking forward to staying there again next year. If you are toruing DC, once you park at H.I. you will not need your car until it's time to leave.

The stay was restful, just like we needed after long days of sightseeing. We appreciated the friendly staff and were able to order in from our room which was very convienient. We would definately chose to stay in this hotel if we are in the area again, and would recomend it to our friends.

It was as nice surprise to find how nice and clean this hotel was - I wasn't quite sure - it was also very close to METRO that was a nice surprise! Wasn't sure if the pool was opened, and the dining room was closed one afternoon, not quite sure why. Great hotel! Close to METRO - Loved all aspects of our weekend away!

I flew through Reagan International and was in Arlington for business. The hotel was conveniently located (a couple of blocks) to the Metro, and because I was traveling light and the weather was decent, walking wasn't a problem. The hotel has a free shuttle (one mile radius) that also helped.

Not a whole lot. We had no hot water for two days. I would definitely not recommend it. We had no hot water on Sunday & none on Monday. We called the front desk at 11:00 am on Monday & the Manager said it would be on in 30 minutes. We took a delayed check out & finally left at 2:00 pm with still no shower. Also, at check in we asked if the rooms had a refrigerator & microwave, the girl said yes. It only had a refrigerator. We took our bag of popcorn down to locate a microwave. Stay away from this hotel.

"Aside from the rock hard bed, and the tepid 'hot' water, the room was large, clean and well maintained. They offer room service, which is unusual for a budget hotel. Security could be a problem with an open door to the back parking lot. close to a large upscale indoor shopping mall, quaint local restaurants. Metro is a couple of blocks away. DC is only a few miles down route 50 or 66"

The location was convenient to shopping and restaurants. The metro system was close and getting into D.C. was easy. The pool and exercise room were a nice convenience too.

Friendly staff. Upon checking in I was told that there was a water shut off and no facilities can be used. They were giving bottled water out!

For the price I paid ($* or so a night) I was expecting a bit more than I got from the Holiday Inn. However, it was certainly not a dreadful experience. The rooms were clean, the parking lot behind the hotel a bit cramped and not large enough for all the guest's vehicles, and the views pretty mediocre. The staff were all courteous and friendly, and I was treated with respect. The location is a few blocks away from a metro stop, which makes it moderately convenient if you need to access The Mall and the surrounding areas. Overall it wasn't my wost hotel experience, but not my best either.
