My wife and I were very pleased with the staff at the hotel. They were ready to serve. We did go to the 70' show they had at the hotel. We walked on the beach and on the road. The all inclusive was the deal of the century. We really enjoyed the food. We also did horse back riding off the hotel property but booked it at the hotel. My wife enjoy this too. This trip is right up with some of the other trips we have taken. I must add this to my comment. The person from Cheap Ticket that assisted in our booking of this trip was very helpful. I lost the paper with her name on it, but I know she have two cats. She made sure my wife and I sat together on the airplane, by checking the seating coming and going. She gave a great suggestion on calling the hotel to get an ocean view room. I will say that with the way she assisted us, I will always book with Cheap Ticket. I did speak with her supervisor to comment her.

Maids did tricking things with the towels. Swans, flowery things - something different each day. The food was OK, but could have been much better. Totally enjoyable stay. Everyone was accommodating, especially the concierge, he helped us with everything. I have nothing but good things to say.

Infested with BEDBUGS! Don't stay here! I stayed in room 2304 & I had to throw away all my clothes and luggage. This hotel made this the worst "vacation" of my life. The staff didn't even offer me an apology. I did get moved to room 2310 but that is probably infested now too. It would have been cleaner to sleep on the beach. Please don't stay here unless you want to get BEDBUGS!

when i got to the hotel they had given my room to someone else and was very ugly with me when i asked why since i had already paid for the room back in jan. i booked a king but they gave me a double and told me to come back the next morning to get my room before 10:00 so i did and i was without a room until 2:00 and still did not get the room i paid for never tried to make it right with me. the hotel was so far from everything and the beach was very very dirty not a very good spring break

Nothing. Customer service very rude. Hotel restaurant unrealistically expensive! We were very disappointed with this hotel. The customer service was very short and rude with us. The pool and beach were overcrowded and it was not relaxing at all! The beach was tiny and water disgusting - very muddy!

We had a great time.I can say nothing bad about the staff and their hotel.There was no stealing,nothing dirty,the staff were top notch.IF you wanted a 5 star then walk up the road.Dont put down a hotel that works hard and puts alot of effort into their business.

The resort was very close to downtown Cancun and it was very easy to take a bus there (about 3 KM). We did not do the all inclusive as just my wife and I wouldn't and shouldn't eat and drink that much. We did eat the last night's meal at the hotel and the food was very good. Ate our evening meals in local restaurants in the downtown area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the price was very reasonable. We would recommend this hotel to couples or families as it was a great place to stay.

Very clean and spacious rooms. The exercise room needs more machines. I arrived at the hotel quite late due to bad weather in NYC.The front desk staff was very accommodating, the room was spacious and immaculate with views of the pool and the beach. The staff was really incredible. All of the staff was always willing and ready to assist with any queries. The concierge desk was also incredible in booking outside tours. It was a great visit and I cannot wait to return.

The hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the nite x2 in the week we were there and no one alerted us to what was going on. We were upgraded to an ocean view without additional charge. The only thing we didn't like is; the hotel is a long ways from any resturants, marinas, entertainment. We did not do the all inclusive option, so we left the hotel many times for meals and it was always quite a ways to travel.Price was good. Staff good. Rooms spacious and always very clean. Beach was small, but enough room, as there were not many tourist there at the time we went. [...]- the bellboy was very nice.

We loved the friendly staff. They were extremely helpful. The beach, although satisfactory, was incomparable to some of the other ones that are in Cancun. This hotel was great. It was extremely clean as far a sanitation as well as the aura as a whole. The staff was extremely helpful in all areas. As with going to an international vacation spot can be expected, the language barrier was softened by the staff that was for the most part English speaking.

This hotel work well for us for one night as we were short a night for our timeshare. The accommodations were clean and comfortable with all the amenities of a standard hotel. I am concerned about the safety of you valuables while using the in-room safe. When we arrived to the room with our bellman (x), we found the safe needed to be recoded as someone had locked it. It tock our bellman just 2 minutes to unlock the safe with his special screwdriver and a master key and using a reset code of 1234. I have read other reports from travels who claimed to have money gone missing from their in room safe so we declined to use this service. A few hours after check in our phone ran and someone was asking us if the accommodations were fine, this made me a bit suspicious. I went to the in-house safe and locked it up with no contents and marked the safe door with a small peace of paper and proceed down stairs to the hotels dinner entertainment. We found the buffet and floor show entertaining and would recommend this, there is a lobby bar that is well stocked with domestic drinks and they make a killer slush drinks. On return to our room at 9 pm, I checked our in house safe and found that mark and paper had been moved and someone indeed was in our room and safe. Nothing was taken from our room as we had our valuables and passports with us. I am so happy for the remarks other travelers that have shared as we could have been another victim in this regards. I made it a point to share our experiences with other quests that were staying at the hotel, as it would appear the management was not interested in changing any of their policies.

The Holiday Inn Arenas was a very nice place to stay. It wasn't very crowded at the time we went. Our room was a decent size and it faced the ocean with a balcony. Unfortunateley Mother Nature didn't work in our favor a few of the days we were there. We really enjoyed ourselves and would like to go back one day. The staff were all very friendly and polite. They went out of thier way to make us feel welcome.

Location to airport and spaciousness of room. All restaurant food and bar services, snacks etc were capped under a all inclusive program. We enjoyed the location for the airport and kindness and professional services of the staff. We did not enjoy the all inclusive status of the food and bar services. We could not buy a beer or plate of nachos without paying a set fee for each person that could then only be used at certain times and in certain spaces, i.e. pool area, lobby bar or hotel restaurant. It was my understanding that the fees had to used up and could not be transferred between places.

My husband and I recently returned from staying at The Arenas, and would never return. The hotel wasn't very nice and there was construction going on while we were there. I would check to see that it was all complete if you were to go there. I didn't really like the location it is at the very end of the "Hotel Strip" so to go anywhere outside the hotel you would have to walk, take a taxi, or bus. The food was ok....nothing exciting, and the same food the whole week, not much varity. If you are planning on being at a beach you see in the pictures, don't stay here. There is seaweed all over and it is not a beach I would want to go to again...we actually went to another hotel to go to their beach.The worst part about our stay there was upon returning to our room from dinner that night in the theater, we found out safety box open and 120 missing from it. We know it was locked before we left, so this meant a staff member entered our room without permission and had a way to get into our box. The management was kind and somewhat helpful, but we didn't get our money back, free nights, nothing! Needless to say we were pretty mad and will never return!

Good deal for an oceanfront room! Right on the Caribbean. Beautiful beach, but with some sea grasses. Away from most of the tourist chaos. Right beside the a bus stop. Cheap beer.

The room was great, had a great view. The staff was at check in was not professional. I would stay here only if there wasnt another hotel available. My room with the view was great.

It is a nice looking hotel and on the beach. But one day when there wasn't that many people on the beach and practically no one under thier beach umbrellas, the staff tried to kick out two people from the hotel next door. This is a vacation for many people and just the fact that the staff was so worried about making a point about it upset me a little. I could understand if it was busy and there was many people, but there was not. Hospitality was lame, the first night that we got there I wanted to get a drink at the bar. Since I dont speak very good Spanish, I couldnt understand that the bartender wouldnt serve me a drink without a wristband. You would think that when we checked in that the staff would have let us know that we needs to buy all inclusive wristbands to drink or eat anything. Then the last day we were there, I guess for the wristbands the front desk staff had to cut the braceletts the next day. I did not know that since they are trying to tell you many things and cut the wristband myself. My last day there I was angry, plus they charged me $4.50 for every phone call that was made, all local calls in Cancun, and even an 1-800 number. I would never stay there again just for the fact that I left there feeling like my money was stolen from me.

Nothing. Staff, location, beach, hospitality. It definitely is a lower class hotel with not a nice beach nor nice water and not hospitable.
