Secure parking for my motorcycle. Construction was not the most scenic thing. Good place to find and get to easy access.

Good points: Close to Metro in safe neighborhood, microwave and refrigerator in room, great bed, newspaper delivered to room weekdays, restaurant on site, clean Bad points: Bathroom is small and inconvenient, old chairs, not easy to get back to the hotel by car if you don't have an updated map Unfortunate for Hotel : Major construction going on weekdays with third shift included.

We chose this hotel for a family get together so that we would have an indoor pool for our 8 and 9 year olds to be able to kill time when we did not have other things going on. We had 2 rooms, one group checked in early in the afternoon, the other group did not arrive until 8pm. Upon check-in, the later party was told by the front desk staff that the pool was open until 10pm so there would be plenty of time to catch a bite to eat and then spend a little time in the pool. This was a Friday night, so there was a fantastic seafood buffet going on. The kids ate rather quickly and at about 9:15 headed to the pool where there was only one person swimming. We were greeted by the snottiest teenage lifeguard saying that we had to leave because the pool is closed. She went on to say that she was letting the other person swim past closing time because she was enjoying talking to her. She insisted that the pool closing time was 9pm and we had to leave. We asked to see the manager and the man that checked us in was the one on duty. He agreed that the pool hours were only from 1-9 pm. He asked who told us that it was open until 10 and my niece piped up "You did sir." He graciously allowed the kids to swim for 13 minutes and then booted them out. Later in the trip, a large school group checked in to the hotel and 2 nights in a row, we went by the pool and saw that group swimming well past 10pm. The staff is very inconsistent with their "rules".

The Metro was conveniently located across the parking lot. It was a short walk and we took the Metro everywhere! The pool was great too-we had it to ourselves! Would go back!

The bathroom. The room was dirty, dingy. The bathroom was in disrepair and the shower looked like it was ready to fall apart. They attached a towel rack to the wall using a board and left the ends unpainted and splintered after they cut the wood to size. It was kind of comical how bad it looked for a major chain hotel! Wall paper peeling off walls in room, water pouring on floor from tub leak, poor flushing toilet. Shower tiles loose, mismatched, different color grout. TV reception bad with lost signal several times a minute. Room smelled like an ashtray, although I requested non-smoking. The restaurant in lobby was horrible. The Breakfast food was below poor, lousy tasting, low quality yet high priced. I would recommend to anyone to spend their money elsewhere.

My husband and i stayed here for a quick romantic getaway. The location of the hotel was great. You could see the metro station from the hotel, just a short walk across the parking lot. The hotel is in a good, safe neighborhood, so even walking to the metro at night was not a problem. The metro is absolutely the best, easiest way to get around. We used it to go to Old Town/King Street in Alexandria where there were shops and restaurants to please all tastes and price ranges. We also used the metro to get into DC every day, a very quick ride, and so easy to use. Our room was clean, nothing fancy, but we were not spending much time in the room so a comfortable bed and hot shower is all we wanted, and that's what we got. We only ate in the restaurant once, and it was the breakfast buffet. Not great, and a little pricey, but convenient. Did not use the pool or fitness facilities. If we ever go back I will absolutely stay here again, and i've recommended it to friends and family. Can't beat the price for such a good location.

This hotel is terrible!!! The entire hotel needed to be updated... 10 years ago. It is dark, dirty and depressing. I booked the hotel because it had an indoor pool, but what they don't tell you is that the pool closes for 15 minutes every hour and doesn't open until 1 pm. When we complained their response was "we get that complaint a lot". The restaurant was filthy and the food well below expectations. The hotel is right ON route 495 so it is very noisy. I will never stay at this hotel again, nor will I stay at a Holiday Inn again.

The Holiday Inn in Alexandria overall was a pleasurable stay for a night. If I could change one thing, it would be the Fitness Center Facilities. I felt that they had an adequate amount of equipment, but the room was not large enough to fit all the equipment, there was no towels and the ceiling tile is in need of repair/replacement. My room was nice, the staff was great and the location was excellent to dining and the train.

Very friendly helpful staff. Bonus to have a fridge and microwave. Great! Well situated right by the Eisenhower Metro station which is easy to use and get quickly to all the points of interest in DC. Good value and friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel is well located (near Capital Beltway) with free parking. Metro (wheelchair and stroller accessible throughout) is next to the hotel and brings you in 20mins to downtown DC. We went to the indoor pool every evening, great fun with the children. Number of TV programs very limited.

The Holiday Inn on Eisenhower was great to catch the subway into D.C. We had stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and was sad to see that not much had been done to keep it in good condition since our last visit. The pool was showing its age. There is no continental breakfast. There are not a lot of other choices for eating nearby, so you are stuck with the hotel's restaurant unless you want to venture out into Old Town Alexandria. The price was reasonable for D.C.

We were very disappointed in this hotel. The room had two small double beds and a view of the parking lot. What we didn't expect, however, is that the TV received very few channels, the bathroom had neither a window nor a fan and no towel bar, the coffee-maker never got rinsed and there was no packet of coffee available on the second day, there was no complimentary breakfast (not even a muffin), and the restaurant had only one cook on Saturday night and didn't give us a menu, offering us only an expensive buffet. We would never return or recommend this hotel.

The staff was extremely accommodating & friendly. The breakfast was overpriced & the food was terrible and the refrigerator and blow dryer did not work in the room. The staff at the front desk was great. Polite & accommodating. The hotel room as very clean & housekeeping quickly brought us another blanket when called. Greater attention should be paid to the appliances in the room as neither the frig or the blow dryer worked.

Close to public transit and affordable. Dated facilities. This Holiday Inn is bit dated but comfortable. You can easily see the vintage from the worn out elevator buttons to the multiple remodels visible in the rooms and bathrooms. The age does not detract from the experience however - the hotel is clean and the staff is cheerful and friendly. Coupled with the location (1 block from the DC Metro Orange Line) this hotel is an excellent choice for both business and tourist travelers.
