I stayed at this hotel for three days in May. When I returned on the final day, I found that I lost some items. I contacted the front desk immediately. But they told me that they cannot help me because the manager was not there. I had to wait for the manager to solve this problem on the second day. But I had to leave hotel at 5:00am on the next day. They let me contact the manager by phone or by email. I tried contacting them a lot of times. All the representatives told me that manager would contact me shortly. But I never received any feedback from manager. I feel this hotel is not responsible and encourages the employees to do things that other hotels do not allow.

Generally stay was ok,except the drunken bell captain who harassed us!

Great location. Overall the hotel was okay for someone on a budget. I thought the appearance would be more appealing.

Reasonably priced meals enjoyed at the restaurant above the court-like interior of lobby. We'd enjoyed a 12th floor view of the magnificent skyscrapers. Also, the room with two single beds was adequate and closet deep for storage of luggage for two. We had hot water, shower adequate as well; non-smoking was honored, and a hall cove room was quiet. The elevator was clean, concierge service joyful and always ready to comply as bell-boy double. Front desk folks were courteous and knowledgable. NO complaints about the ramp parking...reasonable daily rate of $10 was agreeable. Enjoyed and would consider returning at any point. Highly recommended.

This seemed lie a hotel in flux with maid staff not being properly trained nor restaurant staff being properly trained. However, all the staff were very friendly. For example, beds were made with unpressed sheets and the matching bedspread was found in a cupboard. A curtain was hung precariously and we had to ask housekeeping to fix, which they did. At breakfast the juice was served last instead of first. No saucers for cups.

The room was clean enough but I would not stay here again. The bathrooms were very small and when I turned on the fauset the water squirted brown. They have very old plumbing as well as the furniture....it was scratched and the drawers were falling apart. At night we heard scratching in the walls....may have been rats. At least the front desk was very helpful and friendly....thats the only good thing about this hotel. It need to be fixed up badly.

Old-time aesthetics. Unreliatble Internet connection. The place looks much better on the inside than it does on the outside; high ceiling, marble floors and lots of wood in the lobby. The room was fairly small, just big enough to hold two queen-sized beds and an entertainment center. The hotel restaurant is a tourist trap, with a limited menu and high prices, and it took the kitchen staff a half hour to cook a hamburger, even with the seating area almost empty. The gift shop looks like someone's closet, with piles of items stacked haphazardly in the small room; clearly the owner has too much merchandise and not enough space to display it. And the in-room wireless Internet connection has a habit of dropping out without warning, something that's very frustrating if you're trying to get some work done. On the positive side, the staff was helpful and responsive, the lobby area has an old-world look and feel to it that was attractive, and you can get the best tacos you ever ate at a lunch truck that parks a block down the street every day. To sum up, the Mayfair is a place you visit only if it's closest to your destination. I expected more for the price that I paid.

Ideal hotel for my family and I to stay for a few days and see all the sites and sounds of Los Angeles. The tours we selected from the reception were just what we wanted to do and we were picked up from the hotel exactly on time every morning.

A fairly ok hotel suiting the budget. Good location, walking distance to central. Great historic hotel needing room renovations but otherwise adequate and budget.

close to downtown, staples center, shopping malls.rooms are small, especially the bathroom, coffe shop service was bad!,there was a drunken bellcaptain from my country who try to pickup my wife!

I like the location cause it's in downtown and room rates is affordable. The number printed on the phone like 378 for front desk dept is not updated so it made me dialed another dept to ask which no. is really for front desk. I found it so simple and quite but I enjoyed every moment during my stay cause I like being alone most of the time. When I come back I definitely choose to stay again at The Mayfair.

Not a bad hotel to stay as we got the special fare deal. Need a bit of walking to get to downtown LA.

It was close to my meeting site. I checked out after 6 hours because of cockroaches. The lobby is the best thing they have to offer. The room was absolutely intolerable. I was given a suite and it was disgusting. The mattress was stained. Exposed wires. Cockroaches in the room. It felt like the dirtiest room I had ever been in.

I perosonally don't recomend staying at this hotel at all.. The service was very poor, a lot of waiting time, and also the rooms didn't have heaters. When I was taking a shower the water kept turing extremely hot at one point and cooling down, in a pattern. The towels smelled like it was washed with sweat. The bed was very squeaky and the wood sounded like it was going to crack soon. This is not a lie, I'm just writing for my family and I on our trip to mayfair hotel LA

Great location. This hotel is in LA downtown. One of the towels was filthy. There's no swimming pool. Parking is $10 a night. The lobby was nice and spacious.

Cheap. No refrigerator, no ice-maker on my floor. It is the worst hotel I've been to. The location is not good, air-conditioning doesn't work, shower is either too hot or cold.

It was cheap and secure and close to the LACC. Air conditioning did not work.

Rather attractive facade. Dingy room, noisy corridors, no fridge in the room, no area & city info at the reception.
