The hotel was quiet, excellent location, however the staff was a little condescending. I used to live and work off of the circle a few years ago, so I know the area, with that said, when I called to ask about parking options they indicated that the only real option was thier valet service for an extra $25 a night, when I inquired about other parking, they acted as if they didnt know there were two parking garages within blocks (easy walking distance) and that you can park on the circle after 9pm (steps from the hotel!!!!!) Things only an Annapolitan would know. When I questioned other parking options thats when I got the attitude, and I encountered the same person at the desk. However, other staff were courteous. Would only stay there for location, rooms were musty

History and culture. Safety concerns with no door man at our building since hotel is split into 3 buildings. Great location, it gives you a complete experience of Annapolis and the historic feel of the town.

We stayed at the Maryland House which is the cheapest of the 3 hotels. I absolutely loved it! Thel room was very cute. Decorated nicely. Bed was very comfy with many pillows and down comforter. I was a little nervous about it from reading other reviews but I was very pleased with it. It is exactly what it says, A historic hotel. Water pressure looked much worse than it was. They had Bath and Body works shampoos and soaps in the room. Only complaint was the parking. We checked in about a 2 blocks away, which i expected and I had no problem with. Just pull up in your car to check in and then drive to hotel unload and then park. However, you can either valet for $24 or find your own parking which was totally unexpected. Hotel clerk stated that the $24 was for the length of your stay but since we were only there overnight it seemed pricey. She did inform us that there was a parking garage down the street from our hotel which was $10. I did also see meter parking but didn't really look into it. The hotel is about a block or so from water and on a main street with food and shopping. We had breakfast at Donna's cafe which was awesome. I recommend the Snug Harbor (eggs benedict with tomato and crab meat and swiss cheese and hollandaise sauce.) I definately recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Governor Calvert Inn mid april of this year and was just amazed. Beautiful hotel, fantastic room, and continental breakfast to boot. The Annapolis Cadets were having a function that evening and it did not stop the staff from being attentive to guests. I was able to secure a promotional rate that weekend for about $89.00. As I was female traveling single, I could walk to everything and felt safe the entire time. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Location. Check in at different building,$24 fee for valet parking. Small rooms, great location, and cool historic building.

There are three buildings associated with the hotel. We stayed at the Governor Calvert house and we were extremely satifsifed with our non-smoking, two double beds room. The room and hotel itself have retained most of its historic charm, with period photos and an enclosed excavated portion of the mansion's foundation available to view. For early American history buffs, you will especially entertained. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and made excellent dinner recommendations, providing us with a map to arrive there and also to see what else was within walking distance. Its location allows for a nice quiet visit so one needn't worry about loud noise from traffic or clubs. The hotel is definitely within walking distance to the pier, shops and restaurants. The hotel has a shuttle service available 24 hours a day which was nice as we had dinner across Annapolis and the weather was a bit too cool to walk back to the hotel afterwards. We only stayed one night but will be staying there again for an extended weekend getaway.

It is a shame because I had a great visit months ago with a bigger room (suite)and my other visits were great. The Calvert building was under rennovation ( should notify us), there was a young man at the desk after 7PM who should not have given advice about a restaurant, made a reservation only to have us told we have an hour and half wait for a restaurant upon arrival and that it was not equivalent to caliber requested. Day desk staff and parking attendents were great. In addition, we had poor lighting as one lamp near the bed was totally burned out even after I changed bulbs. We had two inches of water in the sink and tub as they were both clogged. Needless to say, this was a very unsatisfactory visit which shocked me. I had very good stays the last three visits.

Location. My room key did not initially work - a pain to resolve. This is a great location if you are touring Annapolis. There are actually 3 buildings and only one of the buildings contains the front desk staff. This can be a problem as my key did not work and I was 2 blocks from the front desk staff. Expect an older but clean and well furnished room with outdated heating and air (window unit).

Just off the main drag of Annapolis and across from the historic capital building, this is a very nice hotel. The room was comfortable and the service was excellent.

A charming hotel, full of history! After staying at the Maryland Inn, it would be the only hotel I would return to. The rooms are small, but in Annapolis, you spend little time in your room. It is exceptionally clean, with very comfortable beds. There is a large porch to sit and "people watch" day or night. Free coffee is offered in the morning. The location could not be better! Everything is within a couple of blocks...everything from restaurants, shops and grocery. To check into this hotel, one must go to the Calvert House a couple of blocks away, then return to the Maryland. Although I was concerned about parking, you can park on the street without feeding the meters from 6pm to 10am. It is such a great place, and such a great value, I would stay nowhere else!

Location and room (antiques). Nothing. I really liked it. Beautiful location right on State Circle, right across from the State Capital Building, a three block walk to the harbor/waterfront and/or to the US Naval Academy. Lovely room s filled with antiques or reproductions. Close to restaurants. Check out Chick and Ruth's Delly for fabulous crab omelets (or anything else on their menu) or the Galway Bar/Pub (right round the corner) for great Irish fare.

We stayed at the Maryland Inn August 14th thru August 17. Our room was way too small only room for a bed which when you walked into the room you could go two steps and then you ran into the bed. No chair, No desk, just room to walk around the bed into the bathroom. We did walk by some much nicer rooms but I suggest that you ask for the size of the room before booking. I acually though we were getting an upgraded room but this did not happen. The Inn itself was very nice and location was good to walk downtown.

We spent the day at Sandy Point beach, then went to dinner at Sam's on the Waterfront in Annapolis which was delicious and then walked around Market Square and got some amazing gelato at Aromi d'Italia, a place at the very edge of the square. The hotel was nice: staff was helpful, rooms were clean and price was reasonable. I wasn't wowed. The room did not have a view at all, even tho the hotel boasts the view. I was not able to get a king sized bed, even tho I called ahead and told them it was our anniversary and I am pregnant. The location was awesome and so pretty. It was a nice time. I may go back but I'm not sure. So many tourists in Annapolis. The nicest thing about staying overnight was walking around the quaint and quiet streets on Sunday morning.

The history and location. No tooth brush. The hotel was amazing. The staff was first class. Also the location was perfect. My only complaint is that I forgot to pack a tooth brush and tooth paste. The hotel only directed me to a CVS. Other than that would love to stay again.

The Good Stuff - great location. Can park your car and walk to everything. We stayed in the Maryland Inn. If you love historic buildings this is a great place to stay. Steeped in history. Parking is metered on the street or you have to find a lot yourself. We opted for the valet. They dropped us off in front of the hotel and delivered our car to the door when we were ready to leave. The room was small, but clean and adequate. Flat panel TV in the room was nice. The Treaty of Paris restaurant and pub were located downstairs but we opted to eat elsewhere. There are many good restaurants in the area. Easy walk to the dock, the Naval Academy, stores, restaurants and Capital Building. The Down Side - the hotel exterior was under renovation. So it was covered in scaffolding and a black curtain. Sort of looked like a shroud. No a/c in lobby, hallways or elevator so it was stuffy. We had a room a/c and the bed was right in front of the window. Needless to say it was either freeze with the air blowing directly on us or deal with the heat. The unit was so loud we had to turn it off to get some sleep.

The Valet parking is an absolute must in this town that has NO parking whatsover. It was a real plus to be able to go in and out with the car as many times as needed with no extra charge or hassle.

My wife and I were very unhappy with our stay at the Maryland Inn, one of the three inns that make up the Historic Inns of Annapolis. The other two locations may provide a better experience, but the Maryland Inn is to be avoided. It is located on a very loud street so we heard lots of people yelling outside all night. I would describe the yelling, but my review can not include profanity. The drunken guests in the room next door weren't very quiet at 2am either. The specific room that we had opened onto a balcony instead of an interior corridor, which made the noise that much worse. I turned the A/C fan on high to try to drown out the noise. Also, the 'cable' television in the room had so much static that it was unwatchable. I booked the pre-paid reservation online, so our bill was supposed to include only valet parking ($20) and the cost of the meal we charged to our room. When the bill arrived, there was a room charge, the meal, and no valet parking charge. The room charge was $40 less than what I paid online, and the room wasn't even worth the lower amount. I spoke to the person at the front desk about our horrible experience and told him that I wanted a credit for the difference between what we paid online and the room rate on the bill. There was 'nothing he could do' since it was booked online. I asked him if he wanted my negative reviews online to say '...and they refused to do anything about it...", and he agreed to waive the valet parking fee. So the final bill included only the cost of the meal. Staff was pleasant. Room was awful.

The history, the age, I loved. Do not have refrigerator in the room. I had a great time, the staff is very nice. It was a pleasure to stay there, in the middle of Annapolis downtown. I loved it.
