The hotel was very nice...the workers were extremely friendly...On the other hand, it was too secluded...And, there needs to be more variety of food. And, oh, the sale tax...Wow! It'll kill you...There's no sales tax outside of the hotel, we discovered..Plus the 10% tip makes for a very expensive breakfast...

Great hotel! Excellent bar and bartender. Beautiful rooms and pools! My advice is rent a car. Taxi's are $$$ and the food at the hotel is as well. car rental is $45/day and well worth it! Also, book activities thru other places than the resort. The resort is ridiculously expensive on everything. The restaurant called El Dorado is very good at the hotel. The other is basic and not so good.

The hotel was gorgeous, the rooms were spacious and beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is built into a cliff which results in very steep hills and walkways around the campus. The hotel was imbedded in a cliff along the Gulf. It had breathtaking views and wonderful amenities. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There were carts/taxis to drive around guests through the large and hilly grounds.

i stayed when it was all inclusive so it was less expensive

beautiful location, right on a peaceful lagoon, set in the hills. staff was great and super friendly. the resort is large, but getting around wasn't a problem thanks to the 24 hour shuttle service within the resort.

We had a great trip at the Hilton. There weren't a lot of people at the resort and so we felt pretty secluded. It was very relaxing.

Great views, very relaxing. The food choices, room phone not working, very hilly and spread out. The hotel was very nice. We loved the views and the spa area was very relaxing with a no kid’s policy. Hilton is putting a lot of upgrades in and so there was lots of construction happening. Our room phone in room #1 went bad after day 1 and they moved us to another room where the phone also died intermittently. We caught them in the transition from all inclusive to ala carte so the food choices were limited and the service mediocre at best. I would be willing to try them again after they work through the transition.

good location- away from the hustle & bustle. Parking is great. Walls are thin- each day our neighbors woke us. coffee pot was not cleaned (coffee still in it at night) toiletries were not replenished. Staff not very friendly. Price reasonable

good snorkeling on west end of resort. good activity effort; sea kayaking, snorkeling, hikes... resort is too far out of town to walk so get supplies; food beverages, snacks... before you arrive if needed. 3$ 1/2 hour internet use.

We took a riverboat tour to see the crocodiles and white faced monkeys that was spectacular. We enjoyed an adventure that included a zip-line tour in the Palo Verde forest with a horseback ride to the water falls and a natural thermal mudbath and mineral spring bath. The hotel itself was lovely on a beach with a beautiful view of the bay at Papagayo. The rooms were marble with granite bathroom countertops. Very clean and quiet. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. The restuarants were excellent but the menus could be a bit more diverse as we got a little bored with the food on a fourteen night stay. The pool area was nice and the beach was beautiful.

Within walking distance to everyting (shops, restaurants, night life) of Commercial St. Park your car and enjoy Proveinvcetown! Rooms are your standard tourist fare... clean with standard amenities & furnishings. Would go back.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the property was utterly beautiful and we were treated like royalty. Probably one of the best vacations I've had in recent history - everyone from the bell-hop to the receptionist, bartender, food server and tour guide were lovely and anticipated our every need. I've been telling everyone I know about the fantastic experience we had at the Hilton Papagayo in Costa Rica.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica. The airlines lost our suitcases and the hotel assisted us in dealing with the airlines. They were always friendly and helpful. I would go back again just not use the same airline.

Tour services offers several excursions. We enjoyed the mega combo, which is 10 zip lines, water slide, horseback riding and hot springs/mud bath! We also took the Nicaragua tour. It was a very long day but very interesting. The staff at the hotel is very attentive and guest services will help with anything you may need. We like to try the local foods when we travel and were disappointed at the availability of dining in the area. You do have to travel a distance but there is food available, you just have to find it!

The staff is friendly, book your rental car early, it is difficult to get around since everything is spread out.
