Had the most unforgettable vacation of my life. This place is wonderful... the bungalow over the water is perfect... the people so nice and sweet.. and great service...I am planning to go back next year.

Most memorable trip ever!!! We went for our honeymoon, and don't even bother with the garden view bungalow (we had one for a couple hours the day we were leaving as a courtesy room, and they are CRAP in comparison to over the water), upgrade and spend the extra coin on over the water, there is nothing like waking up and snorkelling right off your deck! The food was great, especially the deserts (what else would you expect from French cuisine!)

This is our second trip to Tahiti and second stay at the Moorea Hilton (previously Sheraton). We absolutely love this place. First off... it is Tahiti. Second off, the location of this particular hotel is magical. For as long as you can snorkle, there are shallow waters with fantastic coral all around. Very safe and always exciting. One day we ran into an octopus right at our over water bungalow stairs after an hour of snorkling. We spent another hour watching him change colors and try to sneak away. What a treat. So enough on the location, it is perfect. What is not perfect is the customer service. It is far from bad. In fact it has improved since our visit in 2005. They were very kind when we requested a room - as an fyi, horizon does not mean exactly horizon as we thought we would not be looking at other rooms, but they don't define it that way! So they are never rude, they are simply French and Polynesian combined... exactly what they are and very different from me from the States. I know, some of you may want to sue me for the offense. But, some of you may appreciate my comments. Don't expect 700 dollar a night customer service. Your idea of service is different from people on "island time" and with French influence. By the way I love France... but it can be trying waiting on service in a restaurant. So if you know that going into it, you will not be bothered. It is like this everywhere and the Hilton has good service relative to other hotels. For example, you will often wait a long time (30 minutes) for room service. On 2 occassions, we did not get beach towels and had to call down for room service. I asked for a late check out and was told to call back in the morning, but then she changed her mind and said no - that upset me! We learned that if you tip - which is not expected - you get better service. We tipped 10% and by the end of the trip, breakfast and lunch every day went flawless. When arranging excursions, you only get 1 option for each type of excursi

My wife and I visited this resort for our honeymoon back in May. We had the WORST experience which ruined our honeymoon. First of all, we stayed in a garden bungalow and the HOT water broke. We called 3-4 times to complain about it, and every night around the same time, we would be taking cold showers. The 3rd night we were finally moved to a new room BUT the room had twin beds.... They even made the bed like twin beds. I have proof! To top it all off, the HOT WATER BROKE AGAIN! We were sick and tired of complaining and figured we would do it when we got back to the states. Were we WRONG, the hotel said that since we did not complain about our experience while we were there, they would not honor our complaint. How horrible is that? We feel as if our honeymoon was ruined by this horrible experience. Another issue, a BIG issue is the flies. Flies were all over the buffet and over our food. I felt like we were battling the flies while eating. They would not stop coming and they were flying all over the buffet. I would recommend that if you were considering staying here, please do not. you will be disappointed with the service. Our honeymoon was completely ruined because of this. Please stay at the Sheraton or Le Meridian, you will definitely be happier somewhere else.

The hotel is lovely, and the staff is really gracious. The best part about the hotel is the truly amazing world-class snorkeling right off your balcony. Stay in the over the water bungalows if you can, as they are much nicer than the properties on the beach, which feel a bit crowded. Overall, a wonderful experience, although rooms could use some updating and property is a bit dense with lots of bungalows. An easy bike ride into town which is fun.

This place has to be one of the nearest to paradise. I have stayed on islands all over the world and seen some pretty amazing places. This has to be the best in terms of a luxury quiet hot holiday by the sea. Snorkelling was very good and straight from the beach. The garden bungalows are fantastic... dont waste your money on an over-sea. The boat trip to see the rays is excellent. It is quiet though and more than a week may get boring I suspect...5-7 days is bliss!

Great Snorkeling right off the beach. Calm clear water with great fish. Food was great, try the local spots for dinner. Can't wait to go back!
