First of all the flight was great. We were not happy and satisfied with their bathroom, the floor was not clean and I had to ask them twice. And the tv was not friendly set up for closed captioned and I had to ask them twice to help to set up they finally did at late night.

Close to UCSD and medical centers. This hotel is very close to the university and to all medical centers in the area. The hotel is very close to shopping and restaurants (less than 2 miles by car) yet remote enough to feel relaxed.

Overall the hotel was nice, had great views (except our room some tent thing was being set up outside) and the staff was friendly. Rooms were clean but lacked an updated look (wallpaper in the rooms and chipped tiles in the lobby) and the walls were pretty thin I was very dissappointed at finding out that there was a 20 dollar per night parking charge seperate from the room. We ate Christmas dinner at the resturaunt and the service left something to be desired. our waitstaff was definately not deserving of the 57 dollar tip they forced on us for a buffet meal (4 adults and 1 child) in which we had to almost hunt down someone for a drink refill. Food was decent though. The hotel is not really convenient to many things such as resturaunts or any of the attractions but the staff was helpful with directions anywhere we wanted to go.

perfect location & price for my son's graduation from u.c.s.d., quite, clean and centrally located for the la jolla area, p/s: enjoyed the on-going wedding for that week-end.

Convenient, friendly, professional services, eager to meet needs, great location, great housekeeping. In room dining prices didn't match the in room bill higher, but settled at desk. Needs improved in room dining. We love staying here each year we come to San Diego/La Jolla area. This is our 3rd trip, and we plan to stay at Torrey Pines Hilton through Priceline rates again and again. I am sure as soon as their renovations are complete, the hotel will indeed match the 5 star rating.

property beautiful, pool was very large, unfortunately because it was 4 days after Labor Day they had no service at pool very disappointing, even though the weather was perfect

I wanted to be as near as possible to Torrey Pines Lodge (without staying there), and this hotel was within an easy walk but much less expensive. They have tennis courts as well as loaner rackets and balls (don't expect them to be in great shape, however). The staff, in my opinion, was very friendly and helpful.

The location was great - the views around the hotel were awesome. Our pillows had a funny smell to them - like dirty clothes or hair. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is right by Torrey Pines State Park, which is absolutely beautiful. It was a short run or walk from the hotel, and then several miles of trails that led down to the ocean. The hotel staff was excellent - very friendly and extremely helpful. Only complaint was the stale, dirty smell of our pillows (not the pillow cases, but the actual pillow).

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a great time. We didn't golf, but walked around on the course. I didn't feel like the course was all that great, but I don't golf. We ate at the bar restaurant and the food was awful! Not only that but the service was terrible and when the waitress finally came she spilt my drink. The hotel is in an out of the way location - we had to drive 15 minutes to get to the La Jolla cove beaches. We never did make it to the reserve to walk around, as there were no trails / signs around the hotel that we could see. You must have to drive there. Also not within walking distance to any restaurants. If you stay here you will need a car. They charge some outrageous parking fees, I forget exactly but I think it was around $20+ per day. Also, they had kids activities on the grass directly outside our room. Sure, it's great that they take the kids so the parents can go get drunk and party, but keep the kids contained somewhere where they aren't going to be bothering other guests. This was an extreme nuisance. We could see the water from the room, but it was pretty far off in the distance. The room was nice and the bed was really comfortable. They brought us robes - but we had to call and ask for them. They gave us an hour later check out time when I asked. One thing to note, this is a non-smoking hotel. They will charge you if they even think you were smoking in the room. We were worried about this and made sure to keep the sliding door closed while smoking.

Service. The hotel is beautiful and the location is amazing. If you want to see the sunset over the waters this is the place to be.

"The hotel is beautiful in addition to the view, but is approximately 5 miles from absolutely anything. Transportation is a must. Schedule their free shuttle in advance or rent a car. Gorgeous hotel and area."

They charge an unadvertised mandatory $20 fee for self parking--and there is no other way to get there but by car. I think this is a ripoff.

Great location. No cell phone signal in room. No view from hotel balcony. Water faucets were outdated - had to push down faucet to keep water running.

"$16 dollars a day for parking! we left dissapointed with the additional expense. Then we came home and were again charged for it on our credit card. No beach access, Not kid or senior citizen friendly. Great for couples. Service was great, they really treat you well. We came back from the town and found two girls in the hall way, sitting on the floor. The need to monitor."

I stayed at this Hilton because of the convenience to a business meeting. I was slightly disappointed in the room because of the awkward arrangement of the bathroom and the room setup. The bathroom door was aligned with the room door. The room was clean and the staff was really great. The restaurant was disappointing. The staff was efficient but the food was stale; the lettuce tasted old. Meeting dietary restrictions was a challenge. Unfortunately, because of time restraints, I was unable to check out the pool, or other recreational facilities.

Good location. Overall, we liked the room, but it was not a family friendly.

"This hotel was so clean, the rooms were so clean we were amazed, the view from our balcony was breathtaking, and the service from everyone that worked there was top notch; they made us feel like we were movie stars. We will be staying at this hotel everytime we visit San Diego."

the Hilton at La jolla was a dump.I arrived late after not arriving from american airlines.I was never informed it was 24 dollars to park a day at the hotel, found this oout after the first day. The management said I could park across the street and take my chances.it involves crossing a 4 lane highway, real safe for your customers! The next day i returned to my room to find a BOWEL MOVEMENT in my toilet with the maid cleaning in the hallway! When i informed the staff i was asked if i wanted a bottle of water!WHAT?!?!Upon sitting at the pool i was infested with black birds diving for the food left at the outside table which no waitstaff ever came out to clean! Also to sit next to 5 drunks from out of town that went out and bought their own styrofoam cooler with their own bottle of rum, vodka, cranberry juice, and twisted ice tea because the price at the bar was to steep! The hotel is so worried about getting money for parking the back of the house was going to hell in a hand basket. The place was disgusting, and i would not reccommend it to a soul.

The view. Charge for parking was excessive. The hotel was great.
