The excellent service began at the airport when the shuttle picked me up. The driver was absolutely fantastic-very friendly and social. The front desk staff was very accommodating. I arrived early in the day just hoping to store my luggage somewhere until check in time so that I could go into NYC for the day. They put me into my room right away. The only draw back was I had made reservations for a non-smoking room. Upon entering my room, it had a strong smell of smoke. I returned to the front desk. The minute I stepped out of the elevator, they immediately corrected the problem. As a matter of fact, they upgraded my room and gave me complimentary concierge service for the duration of my stay! The staff were more than friendly and were always available to provide assistance. I would definitely stay again and I have already recommended the hotel to others.

Convenient to transportation, enclosed walkways to food, Starbucks. A self-contained oasis in the city, walkway to Penn Station, walkway to restaurants, Starbucks, shops. Great service, fast check-in and out.

My family was very pleased with our stay at the Hilton PennStation. The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel at home. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of amenities. There are pelnty of shops and restaurants there at the hotel as well as in the train station. We had never been to New York City so being next to NJ Penn Station made travel extremely easy. We felt safe at all times, not only at the hotel, but also while enjoying the city. We will definately be back!

for the most part the hotel was great. it was very convenient to get back and forth into New York city which is why I chose this hotel, and it was very clean. The only complaint is that the walls were paper thin. I could hear everything going on in the halls and other room whether the other guests were quiet or noisy. and there was noise all hours of the night..

Location: directly across from the train station Parking policy was unclear and parking overpriced Good if you have an event in NYC but don't want to pay NYC prices. Great for business travel or if you're heading out of/into Newark Airport. Generally helpful staff.

I chose this hotel based on it's location next to Penn Station. There is a skywalk that connects you so you never have to walk outside. Taking the PATH train to NYC was easy and a very cheap way to travel. I felt very safe. The staff were friendly, rooms were very clean. I'll stay there again. This time I will request a room facing away from the train station, as the noise can be a bit loud during the night.

The Good: Location is great. Room amenities were on par with other Hilton's I've stayed in. The bed put me to sleep almost immediately. Contrary to some other reviews I read, the hotel/room was very clean, did not smell like it had been a smoking room and I found no bed bugs. The Bad: While the staff was very nice... they weren't particularly helpful.

It was of very good quality for the price. Because of its location across from penn station it was a little noisy and had thin walls. I loved it. The price I received on the room was excellent and they did a great job suiting my preferences. When you use the negotiator you do not get to choose what type of room you want on the site you ave to call the hotel and they don't guarantee this. I got exact what I wanted, a queen size bed with a non smoking room. Check in time was a little late though and the walls were a little thin. They did have a catch parking was $21 a night. This is too bad because there are most likely other places in Newark to park for less, we just did not have the patience (it was raining) to find one. Other than that everything was great!

You can't beat the Penn Station Hilton if your going to an event at the New Prudential Center. You can walk Indoors from your room right to the front door to the arena. Also if your heading into Manhattan during the day, it's a quick 20 min train ride from right in front of the Hotel. The Bar food is not spectacular and is over priced. But the Bartender is Awesome, and if your like me on vaction, you'll need to know your Hotel bartenter well. I will definetly stay for my next NYC trip.

This hotel was the best. Staff was wonderful. The room was clean with lots of amenities-the only thing they didn't have were slippers! The bed was so comfortable with crisp linens. I would stay here again in a heart beat!!!

Very accessible to shops and the train station (right next door). Parking is a little pricey, albeit consistent with downtown areas. Check-in process was very efficient and the employees were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and I experienced no problems at all.

Conveniently located on the PATH train line that provides an easy 20 min, train ride into Manhattan for * each way. The hotel was clean and the rooms were well kept. Convenient shuttle service from Newark airport or from JFK via the trains. Beat the NYC prices while still being conveniently located to the city. I will be staying here again. Great deal!

For a Hilton, the room is fairly basic.

Love the location. The Penn Station train took me straight to Manhattan with no problems. Resturants right outside your room and shopping a couple of blocks away. The rooms were nice but you do have to pay if you need a refrigerator. Parking is kind of expensive also but overall everything was great.

The whole holtel was stamped with WELCOME. From the shuttle service (the driver was very courteous) to the threshold (Bell service guys were always available to assist) to the lobby (always ready to greet us when we get in and out of the elevators) and the room attendants we see in the hallways). Although I would rate everything as Best, I really remember the concierge Lounge at our floor(9th). She was really excellent. You got the gem of Customer Service and we will definitely be back. I cannot say the same for the nightime lady though(at the concierge loung 9th flr). She was too busy taking care of ONE client he took most of her time. I had to go through all the drawers to find a knife for my navel orange (I didn't find any) and she didn't even seem to notice. Me and another male guest had to get our glasses from the upper shelf because there weren't any on the counter. It was too high for me though so I had to ask my husband to get ir for me. Still nothing from the lady, didn't even ask if we needed anything. She just sat there by the desk in front of the computer and totally concentrated on this ONE gentleman. I hope something would be done to correct this. This was a personal trip with my husband, but where I worked, I have always strived, worked and achieved 100% excellent customer service. I think it is just fair to all those who were excellent to be rewarded and not be marred by one rotten egg.

Very close to the train to New York City, it was like a hotel in NYC, but more reasonably priced. Traffic adjacent to hotel, and poor parking. It's much betternot to have a car at this property!

Very nice hotel for the money. Went on vacation to NYC and stayed here. Access to the PATH train was amazing, very close to the Airport. A few problems, the airport shuttle didn't show up so we had to take a taxi which wasn't bad. Very nice rooms, comfortable beds, lots of little shops and stuff in penn station. Overall great location will go back if ever wanna go to NYC again. MUCH better than staying in Manhattan.

Right outside Newark Penn Station. No free parking. I have to pay $ 21/day for parking. No fridge in the room. Room service did not provide bath soap, so have to ask for it. Good that I was traveling with a soap. No complimentary breakfast.

If you're looking travel to NYC, but don't want to pay $300 a night to stay in Manhattan, The Hilton Newark Penn Station is a great alternative. The hotel is connected to Penn station via skybridge. You can take the PATH train into the city for $1.75 each way. The only problem with staying outside of Manhattan is that after a long day of sightseeing and random adventures, you do have to manage to find your way back to a subway station that connects to the PATH. Overall the stay at HNPS was nice. I arrived at the hotel at 11:00PM and check-in was a bit rough as the woman behind the counter couldn't seem to find me in their system. I was traveling in town to meet some friends. That was great.
