We chose an "executive room" for about US$40 extra per night and it was worth it. The lounge on the executive floor serves breakfast, cakes in the afternoon, appetizers in the evening, and beverages throughout the day. We ate out mostly but it was really nice to have the breakfast and beverages included. We're not impressed with the "free internet access" in the lounge, which was only on the one PC--not wireless. You have to pay for wireless (even for the executive room), which is apparently the norm still in Germany. The room is spacious for European standard with a good sized desk, a chair, and a comfy lounger chair. The hotel is in a quiet part of the city center (NOT at Marienplatz). We walked to the nearby sights and took the S-train, with a station directly underneath the hotel, to connect with the U-bahn (underground metro), which takes you absolutely everywhere in the city. Don't worry about the S-train not running as frequently as the metro--with 8 train lines all connecting to the main metro hubs we never waited for more than two minutes for a train! You do have to walk a distance for the connection (all underground), but it's not too far and is typical of "big city" metro systems. The really nice thing is that you can take one S-train directly from the hotel to the airport--all "indoors" and no transfer.

Location and courtesy of staff. Great location and value! Walking distance to some of the main attractions in the city and conveniently connected to the subway. Nice decoration and attentive staff.

the hotel location was perfect, S8 underground train stops underneath the hotel directly from the airport. Perfectly safe for 2 women(my daughter and I) traveling alone. Hotel was within walking distance to center of town. The hotel concierge was very helpfull and eveyone spoke English. The food was excellent however, be carefull as the receptionist told us at check in time that breakfast was included with our room purchased. I did not questioned it as I had read all the reviews on the hotel and the add stated that breakfast was included. However, at check out time they charged me for breakfast at $$ euros per person. I did not like the fact that I did not have the choice to take it or make other arrangements. The receptionist spoke English, so is not that we did not understand her. She made the mistake and I paid for it.

Very convenient to all modes of transportation and downtown. Best place to say in Munich! The staff was very helpful in providing information for sights. I didn't need to book a tour because the staff was very insightful on how to take the trains and subs to the popular sights.

I hesitated in rating this hotel a '3' only because during our stay at the end of May, we realized the hotel had no air conditioning and the temperature in our room was unbearable. When we asked the front desk about our complaint we were only offered a desk fan. Beware when booking during hot/warm months. Other than that, the location of this Hilton is EXCELLENT! It is only two subway stops from the city center. If arriving from the airport, you can take the S8 train directly to the hotel (35 minute ride) In addition, the subway stop is directly below the hotel, so no worries on dragging your luggage around. There are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Hotel staff was average, as it was hard to communicate with the staff, and most of the concierge staff was rude and condescending. If we were not so uncomfortable in our room due to the heat, this hotel would have easily gotten a 5 star rating!

The Hilton city hotel is right on the rail line from the airport. WE took the train from the airport and it stopped right under the hotel. We walked upstairs and were in the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions of what to see. The room was very nice, breakfast was included in price and was very good. I would stay at this hotel again.

Briefly; this is a new, modern hotel super convenient to Munich Transit - is on top of an S-Bahn stop (you don't even have to go outside to catch a train). You can be in the heart of the old city (Marienplatz) in 10 minutes. It is also on the line (S8) that goes directly to the airport (30-50 minutes depending on how long you wait for a train). The concierges were helpful even for basic tourist stuff. The hotel has all modern fixtures, conveniences, internet, flatpanel tv, etc. On the downside, (personal preference) the mattress was too firm, and the mini-bar was overpriced even for a minibar.

This hotel was on the train route (you exit the train and enter the hotel) The executive suite is worth the price, includes breakfast and the executive lounge with tapas and drinks. There is a view of the onion domes at Marienplatz and access to everything via train was quick and painless. I only rated the hotel a 4 because of the mattress problems."

We arrived at the hotel straight from the airport, using local S-bahn train. The hotel sits right on top of a station! What is more, the distance to the center of the city can be easily covered walking. If you don't want to, you can take the same train. The room was very clean, with all the necessary amenities in place. It was kept clean, too. One of the best things about the hotel was breakfast - a very large buffet full of different options. I'm sure everybody would find something for themselves there.

The hotel is centrally located to all major attractions in and around Munich via subway and trains. The beds are very comfortable dressed with down comforters, windows that open, small but efficient bathrooms and great assortment of complementary breakfast

A little off the beaten track, but a nice neighborhood feel. Close to the Deutsches Museum and the S=bahn station (which made it easy to navigate around the city). Easy access to and from the airport via the S-bahn train S-8. If you have Executive Level access, the amenities are fabulous -- great breakfasts and cocktail hour(s). The little sidewalk cafe Bella Italia nearby was also excellent.

Service was great, the rooms were superior, and the location is great. What more can yoiu ask. One of Hilton's best.

The Hilton Munich City has direct access to Rosonheimer Platz, one of the S-bahn stops. You can take either S1 or S8 from the airport. S8 takes about 30 minutes and S1 about 45 minutes. The sticker shock came when I connected with wifi. It is 27 Euros for 24 hours if you want VOIP and VPN. They have a degraded service for only :-) 12 Euros a day. If you get access to the Executive suite on the 5th floor, you can get food and drink and access to one computer with internet access, but it is heavily used during peak hours.
