It's a great hotel to enjoy the 4th of July weekend and enjoy the annual Taste of Chicago. Everything is in walking distance or a quick bus ride away. It rained one day, but we still had fun in the indoor pool. On a negative note for families, the hotel doesn't offer family-friendly pricess for food. Our breakfast of three was $85. Don't eat at the hotel.

I got haircut in the lower level lobby. She was very nice and did a great job. The pub was a little shabby. Nice lobby, staff and room. The Salon is great.

The Chicago Hilton was beyond lovely. It is a historical place with modern amenities. We walked to all the museums and took inexpensive cab rides to recommended restaurants. The staff was great in helping with these recommendations. I recommend a lake view - it was worth the added expense. Make sure you check out the hotel museum and the Grand Ballroom. It was like a trip to Versailles!

This historic and beautiful hotel is located literally steps from Grant Park. Room had great view of Lake Michigan. Registration and concierge service was excellent.

The staff was extremely helpful and professional. There was only one choice for an evening drink and it was crowded. This is a fine traditional hotel with all of the amenities and ambiance you would expect from such a place. The staff was outstanding and the accommodations very lovely.

We stayed at this Hilton for the Cubs Convention that was being held there. We were more than willing to pay the price to stay in the Hilton...we understand it is a high end hotel. However, the extra costs that were thrown in here and there were ridiculout. Everything come at a cost: an hour early checkout, bag storage for us to go to lunch in the hotel. On top of all the extra fees, the elevators were beyond slow. There were times that waited 10+ minutes to go down to the lobby. We were on the 16th floor and contiplated taking the stairs on numerous occasions. It was a common complaint of other guests as well. The rooms were nice but not worth the extra fees and waits that came with it. You can find a nicer hotel at a much more reasonable price.

My first room was small, dark, depressing, and faced a wall - horrible decor and carpet. I paid to ugrade to the executive floor where the room was decent. decor was a slight improvement, but it was near the elevators and ice machine. there is a nice lounge area where the elevators are on each floor so people would chat til all hours and it was close to my room. The room smelled like a combination of musty carpet and cleaning supplies - it was clean though. The staff was very friendly, the ballroom in the hotel, where the event I was attending, was AMAZING! truely a beautiful setting. The beds are very comfortable, and the linnens were nice. They wraped the comforter in sheets which I like. And there was no gross hotel bedspread like in the lower floors. The bathroom was all marble and brass, which was probably very impressive in 1982. The toilet was like a public toilet - no tank on the back, and had a lever that you would step on to flush - weird for a hotel room in my opinion. When I first ran the shower, the water came out brown, but that soon passed. I was shocked that there were no safes in the hotel rooms - they did have a 24 hour security safe deposite box in the lobby though. Not as convenient, but effective.

Old hotel. Not Quaint. Fine if you are looking for the nostalgic type. I ate in the Pub. Corn beef highly recommended but was just alright. Large old hotel in great shape. Hearkens back to an era past. Room decent size for an old hotel.

The hotel was in a good location, although South of where I spent the majoritiy of my time. It was beautiful and very clean in the room and all other areas I encountered. The only issue I had was that the beds consist of fleather pillows and comforter which my friend who I was with is allergic to. We attempted to call housekeeping, guest services over the course of 15 min without anyone answering the phone to assist us with changing out these items. Once someone did pick up the phone we were told they would be right up to the room, we waitied another 20-30 min. We had to call again for them to come up, but this time they arrived in about 5 min. The L is only about 4 blocks from the hotel which makes it very convienent, especially in bad weather. The buffet breakfast was very good but extremely overpriced.

Very comfortable room, very convenient location. The restaurants were unexceptional. I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Chicago very much. I was traveling with my adult daughter, and we were delighted to find the room had two bathrooms. The room was clean and comfortable. It had an extra pillow and blanket in one of the closets, which I appreciated very much, as I often need more blankets in hotel rooms. The staff was very helpful and considerate. I look forward to staying at the Hilton Chicago again.

We have stayed at The Chicago Hilton dozens of times in the last 20 years. It was adequate, but not the usual perfection we had come to expect. The maid left dirty glasses in the room, didn't replace toiletries as they were used or really straighten up desk tops and night stands. It makes you wonder what else she didn't do, that you cannot see so easily. I have stayed at many Chicago hotels using various budget on-line reservation services and always felt I was treated as well as any guest who has paid full-price. This was our first "Orbitz" booking and I wondered if we were flagged in some way. I always tip the maids based on the full-price of the room, not on the discounted price, but not this time.

The room was spacious and comfotable. There were not seats available at the lobby entrance where we waited for the airport taxi.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Although we arrived in the middle of the Chicago Marathon, we were allowed to check into our room early, with upgraded features at no extra cost. The staff was very helpful and friendly, from the the front desk staff to the porters to the security officers to the concierge staff to the cleaning crew. The food and drink at Kitty O'Shea's was quite good, and the barkeeper very attentive despite a large crowd. The room was nice, especially 2 bathrooms, and the beds were comfortable. It was a first visit to Chicago by my friend and myself, and the hotel played a big part in our very favorable impression.

Well located for Museum campus and Grant park. Personnel very helpful and friendly. WIFI, parking, workout room etc. were at significant charge here and free at other hotels.
