I am a regular traveler, and I use the Hilton line of hotels almost exclusively. Having lived in DC before, and given that I was going to be in Downtown for the 4th of July, I knew I wanted something close. So, I booked a room at the Capital Hilton. While the location was great, nothing else was. The rooms are small and the decor is old. The front desk staff seemed irritated and was not very welcoming. Hilton charges $12.95 for wireless internet, while at all of their lower level hotels, the internet is provided free of charge. My room was down the hall from another room where someone was throwing a party into the early hours of the morning playing loud music and screaming. The hotel staff was made aware of the nuisance but to have no problem with their behavior. As a Hilton Diamond member I would have expected much more. In the future I will stick to the Embassy Suites as they seem to be consistent in service and style.

It's location, grandeur and the quality of the staff. They could have provided a better guide to local restaurants and bars in the room itself.

The property was beautiful but rooms very small - the air was controlled by downstairs and we were very hot every night - they sent up a fan but we still had to keep windows open. The staff was excellent and very accomodating. I wouldn't stay there again and we always stay at Hiltons - Washington was a beautiful city and we would visit again!!!!

A family wedding brought us to the Capital Hilton. We were 3 in the room and found the facility quite nice and roomy with plenty of hangers. The wedding was at the Willard a short cab ride away. During the day we did some sightseeing. Everything was a short cab ride away. We would stay there again. The food wasn't that good and the prices were high, we wouldn't eat there again.

location was good for seeing monuments, White House very close, food very expensive ($5 dollar coffee!)

Location to White House. Outdated. Rooms comfortable but outdated. Great Location and safe feeling around hotel.

The room was big and very clean. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom was very nice. Location of the hotel is perfect; very close to several different Metro lines. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. All in all, we had no complaints, and a wonderful stay.

This hotel was in a VERY good location. Also, they provided free water bottles. Take advantage of them since it is very hard/expensive to find water. I thought the hotel was great for the price. Only problem was room service was a little pricey, but the food was good. Overall, a great place to stay!!!

The location is great a few blocks from the White House and Metro station. There are taxis always waiting for business, a starbucks on every corner, and a friendly staff. The rooms were small and they were clean but not very tidy. All in all nice elegant (pricy but nice) place to sleep (the beds were amazingly comfrotable) in a great location.

Unbeatable location. A little decadent-historic flavour to it. It smells like an old lady. Old 1940's state of the art hotel. Apparently it has never been refurbished. The room was awkward in shape and furnishings, the bathroom was pretty unappealing.

Certain staff members at this hotel monitor what websites the guests are visiting in the privacy of their own rooms & they use blocking software to block any site they find morally objectionable. I find such an intrusion offensive and contrary to a persons right of free speech. With the outrageous rates they charge they should be glad to fill any rooms, and what a guest views online in private should be kept private.

After staying in this hotel for six nights, the only thing I was glad about is that I was there on business and didn't have to pay for it myself. Everything is overpriced. Valet parking is the only option at 35 per night. Internet is 12.95 per day. I thought it would be included in the price of the room. The fitness center looked great but it was an additional 10 per day if you used it. I have never been to any hotel where the guest were nickel and dimed to death like I was here. The people working there were very nice but I will definitely not be back.

Great location in downtown DC. Our room was the very farthest room at the remotest corner of the building. Great hotel, great service, great location in downtown DC. Attached day spa and fitness center were outstanding. One block from good dinner retaurant.

I had the chance to attend a conference put on at the Hilton Capital during the weekend of Halloween 2008. The staff was alway very nice and helpful. The rooms are small for the price paid, but location, location I guess. Had the chance to eat one morning in the Twigs at the buffet. It was nice, good food but very expensive as hotel food can be. Went off site to eat all dinners and lunch was provided in conference. All in all the hotel was very nice.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff was very courteous. We had to request washcloths. For some reason there were none in the room the first two days.

Very nice lobby. Valet driver harassing guest cars. Good hotel for business trips. Rooms are on the small side. The crack on uder the room door it over an inch and you get no privacy. Valet drivers are horrible. The take your car around the back and burn tires. I decided to park on the street after seeing how they handle other guest cars. Security guard are very rude!

My husband and I booked a king room for a 5 day conference in September 2008. Hilton gave us a queen size room and insisted that I made the reservations for a queen even though I had the confirmation for a king. The room was very shabby at $* a night, tv did not work, carpet dirty. Staff is very pleasant and I complained to the manager who has done nothing. I am a Hilton Honors members and don't feel very honored. The restaurant is super expensive - drinks were out of sight . I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It's a rip off.

The room we were assigned looked over a very noisy construction site that interrupted our sleep--no other room available. Room service brought consistently cold food. Housekeeping didn't make-up room after two direct calls one day--telephone service was funky--I was billed for two days--didn't get wake-up call on the last morning--was promised a certificate from Hilton to make up for the problems. Hasn't come to date. Even though I experienced difficulties--staff always polite and cheerful. Stayed at Hiltons worldwide--never such problems as this
