I was there for a conference and these facilities were very good as well. Houston temperatures were blazing hot during my stay, but the hotel rooms were very comfortable. Valet service was prompt and helpful. The staff was very helpful when we left our keycards in the room and very accommodating with late checkout necessary for the conference. It was a very nice experience.

Excellent location for my needs. Extra charges for internet and high parking prices.

my 10 month old daughter and i were caught in a flash flood (yay houston) and instead of trying to brave our way through, we chose to stay at the hilton on lamar in houston, which is where i am as i write this. the room is great. i quite like it. nice tv, spacious business center, posh bed, large bathroom, superb climate controls... the staff is friendly and courteous. the receptionist gave me a discount out of pity (i had a *really* bad day), i had a lady come in and set up a crib for my daughter, the gentleman who delivered my room service order was friendly and efficient... but i had 3 service charges on my room service order, which caused our (tasteless) chicken fingers and sprite to cost $30. i have to pay $16 for parking, and then i had to walk through the garage to get to the lobby. what the heck is that? the internet is $11. if i wanted to use the gym, it would cost me $12. will i have to pay for the soap that i used in the shower, too?? by the time i get out of here, this one night is going to cost me about $200, which is utterly ridiculous. it's a nice hotel and i really do like the room, but i won't be staying at a hilton hotel again.

We were very impressed with this hotel. Friendly staff, clean room with up to date decor. I've been to high end hotels and know a nice one when I see it. This definitely fits into that category.

Quiet, romantic night to celebrate 40 years of happy marriage! Great room service and beautiful room! Thank you!

Beautiful lobby. Food is pricey. Love it, have stayed there before and will stay there again.

I had high expectations for a "Hilton" hotel. The front lobby was very imppressive, but that's where it ended. We had to pay for parking and came in through the parking garage. The skyway reeked of mildew and the carpet looked like it hadn't been replace since the 1970's. As we made our way to the room on the 14th floor, we noticed all sorts of trash, newspapers, dirty dishes from room service and smuged mirrors (also the smell didn't get much better). The rooms were small but clean. The bed linens that they bosted on the website were nice, but the mattress was rock hard. The bathroom was somewhat clean except the the hair on the floor under the sink. The showers were good and strong for water pressure. As for the rest of the hotel, we chose this one because it has an indoor swimming pool. Of course when we got there, it was closed for 2 weeks due to maintenance. Also, it had a great workout room, but you had to pay $10 to use it. I have never stayed at such a conglomerate hotel that nickel and dimed you to death!!! You had to pay for parking ($15), fitness and the high-speed interenet available in your room. Also, there was a mini-bar in your room with outrageous prices for candy, soda, and alcohol. I will never stay here again. Very Disappointing!!! I will stick with the Holiday Inn Express where everything is included, even breakfast!!

I stayed here for a weekend trip and had gotten the room at a bargain price. Parking was somewhat of an issue b/c of a nearby event, and the garage is quite a walk from the lobby. There is limited free street parking, however - in front of the lobby, right across the street! The room was very clean and had a great view. Staff was pleasant.

Traveling with wife and our 2 young boys. Room was clean. Rooftop indoor pool was a big hit with the kids. We were greeted warmly by the young lady at the check-in desk and she was a big help with answering questions and getting us just the right room. Rooms were average, but they were really clean. Service and friendliness really made this hotel stand out.

Looking for a place to stay in Houston for a few days? This is the place! First time in Houston for us and we had a great time. We had a standard room (We didnt stay in much) and it was very clean and nice. 4 star quality. Pool was nice and hot tub was great. The outside veranda overlooking Houston was so relaxing, we all fell asleep after a long swim. We also got the generic 'See Houston' package and went to the Space Center (Very Cool), Museum of Natural Science (Extremely Cool), Houston Zoo (Small but one of the cleanest and nicest we've been to) and the Downtown Aquarium (A must see - Make a plan to eat there $$). We also took a horse drawn carriage ride and the operator let my 7 year old daugher sit with her up front (Gave a good tip before we took off). The city seemed to recover well from Hurricane Ike. I know further south was a bit worse, but everything was open. I would recommend paying the $15/day to park in the garage right next to the hotel. There is a connecting bridge to the hotel and provides for easy access. And don't forget to try 'Swampthing' at the Pappadeux restaurant. Good drink!

We had a very nice stay. Economical food choices were not available. Improvement in that area would help. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The hotel is located in a great spot, and is generally quite nice. However, the main reason I took my grandson to stay at this hotel was their pool located atop the hotel.

I stayed in this hotel a few months back during the baseball season when I made a trip to Houston to catch an Astros game. It's in the heart of downtown within walking distance of the ballpark, and convention center. Everything about the hotel was luxorious from room service to rooms. The only thing is they make you pay to use the high speed internet connection. For the price of the room, that needs to be included.

The Hilton - Americas had a very personal feeling for a convention center(large) hotel. Although the room was cozy it left nothing to be desired and was beautifully furnished.Gourmet coffee in the room and great service when we requested extra. The staff met our needs very well from front desk to cocierge to bell desk and housekeeping. We only had one meal at the hotel which was a very well done breakfast buffet that was a great value compared to the ala carte items given the wonderful array of items to choose from. We were in town to go to some games at Minute Maid Park . The complimentary down town shuttle service was awesome taking us to down town shopping and restaurants and picking us up promptly. Our three day stay was too short given our itinerary and we wished we could have stuck around longer just to enjoy the hotel.

Beautiful public space, comfortable room and excellent restaurant. Slow valet service. A beautiful hotel with excellent public spaces, comfortable rooms and first-class restaurants.

The rooms are spacious and lovely, well appointed and well equipped - desk & work area, upholstered chairs, internet access, good coffee, great shower. Moreover, airline check-in stands were available in the lobby. Conference rooms were chilly. The conference food was beautifully presented and served graciously, but heavy on whipped cream. The coffee shop could have had more snack options. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

Dirty rooms charges for health club. The hotel rooms are always dingy or dirty. 4 star hotel? Fee for health club; fee for internet; 14 fee for room service you guys are a joke. This has happened too many times. Clearly hotels give their worst rooms.

The room was passable, mainly because I think the mattresses could be of better quality. The view from the room was of the roof. The hotel was clean and very beautiful. The employees were very quick and informative. The restaurants were expensive as well as the drinks at the bar.
