only problem was that they charged my fiance's credit card $50 for "incidental charges" when he was trying to pay $20 for overnight parking. Neither his name nor card was not even used in booking the room!

Front desk staff was very helpful. Excellent staff, cream lobby & rooms.

Have stayed here 3 times now, and we really like the location, close walking distance to Comerica, People Mover, restaurants. Great staff, good to see same folks year after year.

We drove in for the Tiger/Brewers baseball series. The hotel is perfectly situated for Comerica Park and Ford Field. It is a short walk to Greektown and to the river/GM building areas. The hotel staff was very friendly and gave great restaurant recommendations and directions. Our room was large, comfortable and spotless. We are definitely planning on going back.

It was cheap. Pool room was way too hot and humid - in room movies not working.

Stayed 4 days for autoshow. Great location, great clean rooms, helpful staff, nice breakfast, great restaurants in walking distance. 20/day parking worth it when wind chill is minus 11 and 3 inches of snow. 24 hr valets cleaned off snow and gave great directions. Besides there was no free parking anywhere.

The bed was comfortable. They did not have a room for me the first night. They sold my room for the first night and the room at the hotel I was sent to was not close to 3 star. The 2 complimentary breakfasts gave a good variety of cold food-all of it. The restaurant menu was not very inspiring.

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Detroit. It is so convenient to go to the ball park, the stadium, the casinos, or the theatre. My sisters and I were a little nervous staying in downtown Detroit by ourselves, but we never felt unsafe. The Valet at the hotel was extremely helpful in giving us directions to nearby restaurants and attractions. Everyone was very friendly.Rooms are really nice and clean!

The Hilton is a great location to downtown- I think the parking was overpriced- and it was very noisy.

Everything, it was perfect. It was PERFECTLY located, central to everything downtown. It was classy, spotlessly clean with a great bed. Nothing/it was PERFECT. This was a wonderful surprise. A perfect jewel in the Theater District and sports arenas center of downtown. It looked like it was built yesterday and was like a boutique hotel in size. Easy to get around, with lots of luxury in the room. Friendly staff and spotlessly clean everywhere both public & private. Within walking distance of absolutely everything on interest downtown. I'd like to visit again soon, just for the pleasure of the hotel stay!

This hotel way exceeded my expectations for the price. With Ford Field and Comerica park only a block away and nice restaurants just down the road - it was a delight to stay there. Our valet people and our front office girl, XXX, were very professional and courteous. The rooms were very clean and we were on the end of a wing so there was no noise at all. I will definately be recommending this hotel to everyone I know. And although we didn't swim we looked at the pool and hot tub and both looked clean and nice.

Hotel was in a, fairly unsafe part of town without much patrolling going on in the neighborhood. Hotel desk clerk upon check-in just went through the motions, did not feel much of a connect. She certainly could have been more upbeat. That's her job. I don't believe you should have to pay 20.00 nightly to park your car when you are there on business, and also tip the valet each time you pick your car up. I know its not required but I do it. Did not feel safe parking the car on the street over night. Room was great and the other hotel employees were helpful.

My friend and I have stayed at the Hilton Garden 4 times from 2006-07. We attend Lions and Tigers games and this hotel is right around the coner from both stadiums. It is very clean, we feel safe, it's got a small "store" for that midnight snack craving and unless there's something really big going on in the city the price is reasonable. Walking distance to Cheli's, Hockeytown cafe, Greektown. We are staying again 9-07 for the Lions home opener!

This hotel was a good hotel for a quick business trip. The area of town is not all that great, although it's very close to the Greektown Casino. The restaurant was closed so all dinners had to be from other places, and there are many in the Greektown area. Rooms are very comfortable, staff was accommodating. If you use the hotel parking lot you must use valet parking (all the cars are in an outside lot so I don't see the need in valet parking) which will cost you $20 a day. I used a lot right beside the hotel's lot and the charge was $4 a day and it was only a few steps more to walk to.

"Overall, this was a nice hotel: very clean, and friendly staff short walk to Stadiums and Greektown. However, the place is advertised as having a pool and frankly, my bathtub was larger. It was difficult to swim laps and when a second family was in it, it was crowded. Also, while it was not a surprise, why is there a parking fee for hotel guests? Very tacky."

The Hilton Garden Inn was a great hotel. It is within walking distance of Comerica Park and Ford Field. The hotel is very nice clean and spacious rooms. I liked a having a small frig and microwave in the room.It is also with in walking distance of Restaurants. It is easy on and easy off the expressway, I would definately stay here again.
