Enjoyed my stay at the Caledonian- great location, great room, nice big bathroom. The buffett breakfast was great. Also went to the spa and had a good experience- wouldn't say it was the best spa though. The only downside is that I woke up one of the nights with the noise outside. The location is so central that on a weekend night you might hear noise from party goers outside.

The view of the castle and the location to easily get out and walk. This hotel was perfect for anyone who wants to be delighted with views of the castle! Easy to get to shops and restaurants, as well as the garden grounds at the base of the castle!

The Caley is an old Victorian hotel which has been updated without losing the charm. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This a truly a 5 start hotel but it is comfortable and not pretentious. Location is just below Edinburgh Castle. The Castle is a healthy but not insurmountable walk from the hotel. Breakfast is amazing. Two rooms of food from which to select plus the ability to order eggs, french toast and other breakfast goodies. We took advantage of their prepaid B&B offer. I thought we'd get a tiny room on the 5th floor. Instead we got a lovely very large room on the 3rd floor. View was overlooking the car park but it got lots of sun and the windows opened. Only suggestion would be for the hotel to find a way to install a bathroom night light. We would stay here again, especially if they offered their B&B program.

Location was excellent, hotel is beautiful (floorplan a bit eccentric). Close to Edinburgh Castle and Princes' street. Staff was not helpful, not welcoming, did nothing extra to warrant me staying at their hotel again

The Caledonian Hilton is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at with the most outstanding staff I have ever encountered. Every request we made was accomplished immediately and everyone was so friendly. Arriving at 9am after an all-night transatlantic flight, the front desk staff managed to get our family, including three very tired teenagers, into our rooms by 10am, when check-in should have been 3pm! A special thank you to [...] in the breakfast area, who served us each day, for his helpful advice and local stories. Also, to concierges [...] and [...] for wonderful restaurant suggestions ( Brown's) and help booking activities. I would return in a heartbeat!

Great staff, and accessible location. Made to feel welcomed. I can't think of anything negative. Historic hotel, centrally located in Edinburgh. Well trained staff, who treat their customers royally. Updated rooms are spacious, and well decorated.

This is a beautiful hotel. We had slight issues in that the hair dryer and television didn't work, but other than that, the stay was great. The hotel is beautiful and has a great view of the castle.

A Little old and worn in places but then it is old ! Lovely place to enjoy Edinburgh from

The staff accommodated my needs and requests well. Limited availability of services (the "Living Well" area (including pool) and room service). The building is beautiful and situated in a lovely part of Edinburgh near Edinburgh Castle. The interior of the hotel, however, is somewhat lacking, especially on the upper floor. The common areas of the hotel were upper class, clean, and nice, but our room was quite dirty and run-down for a Hilton. The selection was awful. No food was included with the room charge. The hours of availability for room service and the pool area were awfully short. The cost of keeping some staff on hand for an extra few hours at the beginning and ending of the day is quite minimal compared to the value of the convenience.
