Just returned home from 3 nights in a penthouse suite costing $*/night. This was truly the worst vacation hotel experience of my reasonably full travel career. The property on the surface appears to be very nice, and indeed it is contemporary in design and our ocean front suite with a 270 degree wrap around balcony offered incredible views from the 24th floor. Where the Hilton falls FLAT ON ITS FACE is the execution of the "resort" experience. The service as a rule is horrific, shockingly bad. There are exceptions or glimmers of hope, but the rule is really, really incompetent staff. They are generally friendly, but they are just not detail oriented or trained in customer service. Any positivitey is a thinly veiled hand waiting for a tip. The specifics are too numerous to mention here, but I'll be glad to share via private message. My primary issues were with the dish ordering process, and lack of accuracy---it took me 4 calls to get a bottle opener. 4 calls and 3 hrs for a bottle opener in a $*/night room is unacceptable. Additional problems were with shoddy furnishings (a chair broke and caused me to tumble to the floor while holding my 7 month old son), inoperable appliances, and rude gift shop attendant, slow to non-existant pool service (one day was excellent, one was really bad). The finaly affront was innacurate handling of specific requests by the front desk and an incomprehensible response to complaint by management. I presented my complaints and fought through the patronizing and bait-n-switch offers from management to procure a credit for one nights stay due to the problems. At the end of our stay the general manager had the gall to request I give a "10" in my review of the property as he had given me a free night. I told him he had a good sense of humor. I should also mention that I did have to contact Hilton corporate HHonors guest services to help obtain resolution. My husband and I took a 1 night honeymoon getaway when we visited family in Fort LAuderdale. We stayed at the HIlton on the beach. It was beautiful. The room was large and elegantly decorated. The bathroom had a seperate shower and jetted bath tub. The bed had a fluffy down comforter and the softest sheets I've ever felt. The staff was extremely kind and courteous. Even though it was a little expensive, I would stay there again.

Great service from everybody. Restaurant was to expensive for the quality. Dining do somewhere else, but for the rest it is very good in service and cleaning.

We reserved a room with 2 queen beds and had a confirmed reservation. When we arrived, we were told the hotel was sold out and we would have to accept one bed plus a roll away bed. What do they not understand about a reservation? A very nice facility in a good location across the street from the beach, but not a place to count on getting what you reserve, or getting any help from management. We checked out a day early rather than endure it another night.

I did allot of research before selecting this hotel and was prepared the nickle and dime that we were faced with. I chose this one due to family living near by and the fact that a few of our members smoke and this hotel does allow smoking on the balcony, one of the few that will. I knew the hotel was not on the beach like described but I did not realize how busy A1A is where the hotel is located with no crosswalks so either you walk a block or two each way and then cross or cross your fingers and run. We had ocean front rooms, which were excellent and had a good view, the higher the floor the better the view. We got a 9th floor room, but the pool is on the 6th floor, so it is like getting a view from the 3rd floor. Also, it was allot of noise from the road in front of the hotel and the construction going on from either side of the hotel. Other than that it is a very nice place to stay if you are there without kids, if you have kids I would recommend staying someone else that is more kid friendly due to the crossing of the road and the limited activities for kids. I woudl stay again but not anytime soon.

The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach is beautiful. Great staff, great location, incredible room/suite. This hotel has condos. I assume they all didn't sell so they are used as rooms. Complete kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Walk in closet, hugh master bath with sunken tub with jets. Great ocean views. I loved it.

We loved our stay at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. We had a ocean front suite and the view was spectacular! The balcony was so great. The views were unbeliveable with all of the windows and doors that covered the living room, bedroom and bathroom. You could see the ocean no matter where you were at in the room. The furnishings were so beautiful and inviting. Loved the colors! The bathrooms were so roomy ( even the smaller one) and WE LOVED THE SHOWERS! The hotel was very clean which is VERY important to us and everyone was so friendly and helpful. ( except for the grumpy girl who worked in the gift shop). We loved the little cafe in the hotel. Great pastries and hot chocolate and the workers were so very nice. The pool was very comfortable. We layed in lounge chairs the first day and then in the cabanas after that. It was so cozy. The pool assistants were so nice and helpful without being a pest but were there when you needed them. The view from the pool was wonderful too. Wish we didn't have to have valet parking but they were very prompt and nice too. My husband and I needed to get away for a few days and relax and this is the place to do it! We would absolutely stay here again!

Room was gorgeous. Kitchenette had granite counter and stainless steel appliances. Got a suite with a separate bedroom. Room was immaculate. Floor to ceiling windows with a patio overlooking the ocean and the Ft Lauderdale skyline. The ocean was across the street. The beach was clean and not very crowded (but it was June). The people were very friendly. All in all, this was luxury accommodations right on the beach. And there is a pool on the sixth story if you don't want to walk to the beach or if you want someone to wait on you. Very nice Parking is a day and it is valet which means tipping every time the car goes in or out. Second, internet access is a day. I scammed internet access and avoided the cost but you may not be so lucky. These costs really jacked up the cost but the location is far from everything so if you don't have a car, you rack up a lot of expensive taxi costs. And it is really hot in June and very unpleasant hiking blocks to restaurants.

Great hotel. beautiful pool area. friendly service, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Only negative is the daily parking fee. should bewaived or reduced for guests. Flew in early and was allowed to check in right away, that was GREAT!! will stay there again next year when I fly down for my Dolphin game....

One of the most poorly-designed hotels I've ever experienced. One restaurant for 374 rooms of people. Impossible to get a spot at the pool after 9AM. Advertised as being "on the beach" but they never mention you have to cross four lanes of traffic to get there. Absolutely no information about local events, restaurants, shopping in the room. Have to speak to a concierge IF he/she is not already tied up speaking with other people. Everything from parking a car to using the Internet is horribly overpriced.

We were going on a cruise the next day, stayed one night. Rooms were nice and clean, staff was friendly and helpful, pool area was great, have to get there early to get a chair, they charge you for shaded cabanas (rip-off). There was a fight on the pool padio level @ 2:am, kids screaming and yelling for a 1/2 hour. didn't see any hotel staff of security anywhere... kinda scary. lots of stuff to do within walking distance, lots of bars and shops.

Beautiful rooms and staff was very friendly. They charged for everything - valet parking for $30 a day plus tip was robbery. $13/day for internet unreasonable. I liked staying at this hotel but will probably never stay here again. I have been to other Hilton's and they didn't change these crazy fees like this hotel did.

The staff was friendly and outgoing The room was clean and the bed great. Plenty of towels bath stuff and all round service. Everyone was helpful in answering questions on where to go what to do and how to get there.

All in all, I'm very pleased with our stay. We checked in late (flight delays) and were upgraded from the Oceanview Studio to the Oceanview Suite for the same rate originally booked. Woo hoo! ** Beautiful room, spacious. My only complaint with the room is that I read online they were "fully stocked kitchen" - it wasn't. The only dishes were the single serve coffee cups and the drink glasses in the bathroom. So we went to the grocery and had to buy plates/bowls/cutlery so we didn't have to go out to eat for every meal. *** Room service personnel were very nice, however the prices were a bit ridiculous. 10 for a bowl of oatmeal with fruit?! Plus gratuity and taxes - it all got to be a bit too much. *** I wish there had been a hotel shuttle - we had to take cabs most everywhere since the hotel isn't located within walking distance of many places. We walked to dinner a few nights, but it wasn't easy to get anywhere on foot. An airport shuttle would have been especially nice. *** The pool was small but the pool deck was spacious with plenty of chairs and complimentary towels and cushions. While the pool was small, I really didn't see all that many people in the pool so it wasn't like people were swimming on top of one another. *** The hotel is actually across the street from the beach - However, the street you have to cross isn't very crowded and we didn't see too much "cruising". *** The concierge desk was incredibly helpful. We consulted with them several times while we were there since our time was limited and they were always so helpful. *** I'm happy.
