This boutique country retreat rests on a hillside of the Taupiri Ranges, which are near the main tourist route. Guests staying in the Hillside Hotel will be able to enjoy views that reach all the way to the central plateau and Mt. Ruapehu. The property adjoins a 300 acre private native forest conservation reserve in the midst of the 2300 acre Hillside Station. Ample off-street parking is available for guests driving to the Hillside Hotel.

Each of the guestrooms in the Hillside Hotel is spacious and includes a king or queen size bed, en suite with separate bath and shower, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron, a hairdryer, and an executive desk. Many rooms offer spectacular rural and native forest views.

The Hillside Hotel’s architecture was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and the Arts and Crafts interiors pay homage to the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Original artwork by Meryl Graham is featured throughout the property. Food from the hotel’s on-site restaurant is characterized by local produce, well-conceived flavors, heritage influences, and geographic sensibility, and the menu is comprised of contemporary New Zealand dishes.

What are your breakfast options?: We have breakfast available for guests usually between 7:00am and 10:00am. Pre-booked breakfasts are NZD$20 and unbooked $25.
What transport is available to get around?: Auckland/Hamilton Airport shuttles will drop at our door. There is no public transport.
What can I do nearby?: We are a rural retreat and set on a 2300 acre property with 300 acres of private bush/native forest reserve for guests to explore. Also, a guest library of books, magazines and DVD movies, 20 minutes to golf courses and half an hour drive to Hamilton City where there is a good range of nightlife.
Do you have internet?: We have free high speed internet in each room - wireless in the restaurant and lounges and conference rooms.
Do you provide parking?: Lots of parking on site for free, well-lit but not undercover.
