A weekend break with friendsWe stayed at the Heworth with friends for a weekend break. We find both the accomodation and the staff excellent. We really couldn't fault it. The bonus for us was that it was only 10 minutes walk from the centre of York and it had private parking at the hotel. (A rare thing for York!)We had a meal in the restaurant on the Friday night, and this too was top notch.Breakfast were also good with plenty of variety on offer. All 'waiting on' staff couldn't do enough for you. There is also a walled courtyard at the back of the main building which is pleasant to sit in with a beer at the end of the day. Also a good selection of whisky's in the aptly named Whisky Bar!All in all a good time was had by all!!

recent stay in Yorksmall, unpretentious and very friendly. Rooms small and basic but very clean and ideal for just one night. Within walking distance of city centre. Good, free and secure parking.

good value for moneyMyself and my boyfriend stayed here over bank holiday weekend and was very happy with the hotel overall. There are 2 buildings and we was in the annexe at back of smaller one that housed reception and restaurant. The little courtyard in front of our room was lovely and we could see the car from our front door which was good. Hotel is on the grey park and ride route with stop right outside so perfect access to town centre - it is also only a 20 min walk to the minster area. Overall hotel was very good and would recommend it.

Accommodation was very good. Dinner was freshly cooked but seemed to take quite a while even though there were few diners that evening, although it was worth the wait. Breakfast would have benefited from a wider selection of fruit and yoghurts and a better quality of fruit juice. On the whole a quiet, relaxing hotel.

Staying at Heworth Court HotelRater disappointed at the quality of the room allocated as \"standard \" The room was in an attic situation and looked tired. The decoration was in tact and clean but the \"On suite\" turned out to be a cupboard acting as a toilet and if you happened to be over six foot tall would find difficulty in using it. There was no room. The was a shower and a washbasin was situated in the other corner of the room. No bath was available! this was not explained on booking or when checking in. The water to the hand basin was tepid and did not reach a \"Hot\" condition even though it was left to run for quite a while. A poor experience.I would not recomend this hotel to my family or friends as it would fall short of their personal expectations.

Disappointment. It felt like a guest house yet called itself a hotel. The room was pokey and did not feel particularly clean for instance one of the mugs was cracked inside and both were dirty. The cooked breakfast was lovely but the rest of the choices were very restrictive. My wife would normally have fruit juice, grapefruit and toast but the choice was fruit juice or grapefruit. Plus the fruit juice tasted like it was a weak reconstituted mixture.

YorkHelpful staff, clean room - if a little compact. Slow service at Sunday breakfast but the hotel was very busy and staff remained polite throughout. Good secure car parking and very easy to walk into the City of York.

Relive the tackiness of the 70's hereVery misleading blurb about this hotel. They may have done some rooms up, but in the \"annexe\" two doors down they haven't lifted a finger since the 70's. Drab, tacky and poor quality furnishing and fittings, but bizarrely, exceptionally clean. If melamine, stencilling, woodchip and plastic are your thing, you will be in seventh heaven. It really takes some work to make sure nothing in a room blends or matchs. We paid a £158 for two nights, they take the money up front, now I know why.

This B&B/guesthouse is of a clean standard compared to others I have stayed at. The people are lovely, especially the lady that served breakfast. There is a lovely garden at the back and a cosy room for reading and sufficient literature and travel guides to York. The walk into city centre takes about 15mins or regular 10min bus services. The free private car park around the back is also a bonus.

heworth courtRoom was very clean and nicely presented. The only thing I could fault was the plumbing was very noisey. When someone used their shower downstairs it sounded like the pipes were going to explode in our room. Also the shower was very hard to control, cold one minute and scolding the next.At checkout, there was also drinks put on our bill from the bar, which we never had. In fairness, they did delete these when we complained.
