room had a view of the new building next to it about 15 ft away. no ice machine. valet lost keys to car and took forever to get the car. it is cheaper to self park in the lot about 1 block away.

It was clean, comfortable, nicely appointed and well located. This was a lovely hotel. Though the building is older, the hotel has been wonderfully maintained and is decorated beautifully and comfortable. The hotel is in a convenient location. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Would rate this European-style boutique hotel higher if it weren't for the traffic noise and noise from the adjacent construction site. Because I read on line about the noise problem I was able to book a room on the opposite side of the hotel but guests should specifically request rooms far away from the noise which starts around 6:30am and continues 'til 5:30, sometimes on Saturdays. The other mini-problematic service issues was that there was no clear marking where the switch for the thermostat was (an unlabeled on-off light switch a few feet above the thermostat). Otherwise, a very lovely hotel.

This is one of the Historic Hotels of America organization, worth bonus points usually in my book. The Hotel is located next to a very vibrant redeveloping area in the former downtown/Shaw neighborhood at New York Avenue and 10th street; however, the view out the front door remains a little grim. Good restaurant neighborhood if you're willing to walk a few blocks. Rooms are nice enough, sized somewhere between a European hotel and the classic US model. The "Deluxe King" rooms, you should note, have queen size beds. The neighborhood wakes up early, and can be quite noisy. Beds are comfortable. Staff was helpful. Valet parking was expensive, as was the hotel bar. A couple of bagels and some coffee ended up costing $50, so you can do better at the Starbucks two blocks south on 10th Street. Would I stay again? Maybe; there are places in this price class that I like better in DC. But don't be shy- this property has much to offer if you need to be in this neighborhood.

I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. It was very charming and well decorated. The staff very friendly and accommodating. The location is great and it is walking distance to the convention center and the museums. I had a light lunch in the bar area and the food was good and well priced. All in all my stay was brief but delightful.

I went with a friend to enjoy a few baseball games while the Chicago Cubs were in town. I loved the location. Close to the Metro, and walking distance from the White House, Ford's Theater and the Mall. The rooms (standard size) were very clean and served my needs. I would recommend a larger room for two or more guests. The front desk and concierge were very helpful. My only complaint is the construction noise. However, it seems a lot of the D.C. area is under construction. I would definitely stay here again!

Room was larger then last hotel I stayed in in Wash. D.C. Further from metro than I thought. We booked two rooms for our family. My room was larger, with very nice bathroom size for older hotel in Wash. D.C. Food expensive in resturant. Staff friendly and very helpful.

I stayed at Henley Park Hotel the night I proposed to my now fiance. The hotel experience was awful from the start. First, the receptionist said I was booked for two nights when I was only booked for one. I had to waste time and money to logon to the hotel internet service to prove this to her. Second, I paid for a King Deluxe room but was only provided a standard room. When I objected the receptionist simply moved me to another standard room. When I objected again, the receptionist said the hotel didn't have King Deluxe rooms. I guess she should check out the hotel website. When I called online travel website about the issue, they instantly contacted the receptionist who in turn lied to the agent and said she had provided me with a King Deluxe room. The receptionist was neither sympathetic or apologetic throughout the experience. In fact, while I was at the desk I witnessed to other patrons complain about the service. I have called the hotel manager and he has yet to return my call. In the end, I have never had a worse hotel experience. In the end, I received far less than I paid for. You would be better served to pay less for a better treatment at a hotel in a better part of DC. All this said, I highly recommend the Coeur de Lion restaurant within the hotel. They provided a wonderful meal and fantastic service which saved my engagement night.

Staying at the Henley was wonderful, but it wasn't worth * a night. Luckily, I had found a deal online for * dollars a night, making this stay one of my best decisions - overall, the hotel is wonderful in all respects, but it's nothing out of the ordinary that would make it so expensive. It's just a luxury hotel. I wouldn't recommend paying more than *.

Staying at the Henley Park Hotel was an absolute pleasure. From the pleasant foyer through to the lovely guest rooms, it was an ideal place to stop at during our time in Washington. Even though there is construction happening next door, there was no hint of noise. Overall a very pleasing place to stay on our stop in Washington DC on our round USA trip.

Over all the experience was great, the hotel was beautiful, rooms were extremely comfortable and staff was courteous. Although the food was delicious at the restaurant it was very pricy, so if you are looking for a quick bite to eat I recommend exploring around town elsewhere. If you dont mind spending the money, both the dinner and breakfast were ok and the waitstaff was polite. The room service was also very expensive even just for toast and tea. As an example, breakfast of a waffle and toast cost $30 at the restaurant (not room service).

Nice, quaint hotel, very clean, friendly staff and location convenient to many Metro stops. We like walking, so we trekked to Dupont Circle, downtown (many times), the Mall, Chinatown, etc. Also, just tell the staff if you want a cab. Some construction next door but we never heard anything. Room very small but great bed and super-clean. Don't bother going to the in-hotel restaurant for breakfast -- too expensive, although the bar is nice. Also a nice room off lobby to read the Post (provided free) or just chill out. We walked to a new place each morning for breakfast -- many other hotels close by and off course the ubiquitous Starbucks everywhere. We loved the Henley Park.

We enjoyed the hotel and it's location. The only complaint is that the room's air conditioner wasn't working. However, the maintenance worker was sent up at 11 p.m. and also brought a fan. It was nice. We only needed the room to sleep, the rest of the time was seeing D.C.

The historic nature. Space was tight and they kept the hotel way too hot.

The Henley Park is in a great location downtown, very close to the convention center and walking distance from the Mall (you can also take the Metro). Our room was comfortably spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. Flat-screen HD TV. All the bathroom amenities, safe, iron, coffee machine, etc. We arrived Sunday evening and the restaurant was closed, but we had a great dinner in the bar for very reasonable prices (shrimp tempura & salad, 14; excellent 1/2 lb. hamburger, 10). We also noted that the room service and minibar prices were actually reasonable and not a ripoff like so many hotels. The hotel has an afternoon tea, which we didn't try, but the menu looked good. The service was good and they provided a checkout receipt under the door, so we didn't have to stop at the front desk on the way out. The only drawback is that right next door is a large construction project, a 250,000 square foot office building, which is currently (4/08) being built several stories below ground level--the garage levels. This will surely continue for at least a year. Our first day, Monday, it was raining/stormy and there was no work going on. Tuesday morning, we awoke to construction noise at 7 am. If you are going to be getting up around 7, this will not be a problem for you. If you are just arriving from the West Coast, it may be! If you request a room facing the Cato Institute (yes, that Cato Institute, right across the street), that would be the quietest side of the hotel. We would stay here again. Might bring earplugs for the construction!
