Staff made every effort to make our stay pleasant. Doorman, front desk persons, maids, waitresses, hostesses- all were first rate and never condescending to us, who are not well travelled and needed a little hand holding.

Staff came up to show us our room and stayed too long.

The hotel accomodations, as always, were great. A very comfortable, small venue with excellent ammenities and friendly and helpful staff. One complaint: the hotel restaurant, which is usually excellent, served us an unfortunate meal on our arrival Easter Sunday evening. It was a bit of shock considering the "sticker price." Perhaps it had been a long, hard day and by dinner, the crew was played out. Poor service followed by food with too much salt, cold meat and overcooked vegetables. Ugh Everything else was just fine. What a contrast!

The overall hotel stay was lovely, they dont have room service except for breakfast so that wasnt too great but the heathman resteraunt is amazing. lovely staff.

Friendly respectful staff, clean, good amenities. Two unauthorized charges to my credit card, They reversed. Great hotel, rooms were nice, everything worked. Great location in the middle of downtown, this was the end zone for a bachelor party. They put our room away from others so we wouldn't disturb neighbors which was thoughtful and considerate. My only complaint is that they overcharged me, which I have come to expect from nice hotels anyway. I did hear from someone on the inside though that they are honest mistakes.

The Heathman Hotel was a treat to say the least. Staff seemed to love their jobs and despite the gloomy weather it was a hoppin' place. My daughter and I came from SLC,UT to see WICKED at the Keller Auditorium. The conceirge gave us excellent directions (and an umbrella) and it was a fabulous walk. We had a hard time finding a place to eat as it seemed downtown Portland kinda shuts down on Saturday and Sunday during the day. No worries! Eat at the Heathman! An incredible brunch menu with exotic mamosa's served by an eager, sharp staff. Our room was quaint and cozy. Gorgeous decor with a charming touch and amazing down pillows and comforter that make you disappear into the bed. Tiny but efficient bathroom was so cool only drawback was the hair dryer. Bring your own. French Press Coffee and tea service was elegant and there was REAL cream! (and real coffee). I hit the over stuffed basket of goodies at midnight Saturday and found a big bag of delicious carmel corn...$4.00 perfect! The Oregonian newspaper was outside our door every morning. We have friends who live in Portland and honestly we just wanted to invite them to our room because it was so homey and comfortable. I can't wait to stay at The Heathman Hotel when I return to Portland to see Ian Anderson w/Jethro Tull in concert. Double class act!

Great location within walking distance to downtown area and Pearl District. Breakfast is excellent and the service at the front desk, restaurants and lounge were all great. I enjoyed the library to read and work. The rooms are well-designed and have comfortable beds and great amenities. The only slight negative was noise from the hallway because I was near an elevator. I would recommend requesting a room away from the elevator.

The bed was amazing, so comfortable for a hotel. The room was really small. It was a really nice place to stay, the staff was wonderful. I would stay there again. It was in the middle of downtown Portland so everything we needed downtown was within walking distance.

We took a week vacation in downtown Portland, OR, and decided to stay at the Heathman. It exceeded our every expectation. This hotel is truly service oriented. From the moment I called to arrange a car to pick us up from the airport until the time the bellman put our bags back in for the return trip, we were treated like kings. The front desk folk all double as concierge and were very helpful with arranging cars, dinners out, recommendations for places to go, and ensuring all the little niceties of a high end hotel were met. The only downside is that the rooms and gym were a little small - but that's to be expected in a renovated downtown hotel. The Heathman Restaurant next door was out of this world with changes every night to reflect what was fresh. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

Especially impresses by the great coffee & French coffee press in the room! The maid service was very neglectful of restocking, might be that particular maid? Great colors and linens in the room even though quite small. Restaurant is wonderful including an outdoor seating option for summer weather, an indoor "library-type" setting with fireplace & evening music and the largest, bright and sunny restaurant venue, too. The fitness center is a converted hotel room which is small but at least situated in the corner with operable windows and views.

The hotel has fabulous decorations that can make even a Scrooge feel the spirit of the season. A baby grand piano played holiday music in the morning and during cocktail hr. The lobby has many comfy leather couches and seating areas to have conversations while enjoying the ambiance. We even had Xmas cookies delivered to our rooms on Xmas morning! I was also very impressed with the hotel's eco-concern policies..while still providing a luxury experience for guests. All paper recycled, optional reuse of linens, etc. This hotel has very progressive ideas that all hotels should adapt. If you are looking for a great place to stay...skip the Lions, big H, and other big names and stay at the Heathman. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful staff and great location. Room was lovely but small. Excellent customer service and wonderful food. The bread pudding in the restaurant was the best in Portland, maybe in the world. Amenities included complimentary French Press coffee and gourmet tea with infusers, 500 free classic movies to choose from and concierge restaurant and ticket bookings that got us great seats on short notice. Price was way high, but well worth the stay.
