| We took a week vacation in downtown Portland, OR, and decided to stay at the Heathman. It exceeded our every expectation. The Heathman Hotel Portland is truly service oriented. From the moment I called to arrange a car to pick us up from the airport until the time the bellman put our bags back in for the return trip, we were treated like kings. The front desk folk all double as concierge and were very helpful with arranging cars, dinners out, recommendations for places to go, and ensuring all the little niceties of a high end hotel were met. The only downside is that the rooms and gym were a little small - but that's to be expected in a renovated downtown hotel. The Heathman Restaurant next door was out of this world with changes every night to reflect what was fresh. We will definitely stay here again when we return. |

| The hotel has fabulous decorations that can make even a Scrooge feel the spirit of the season. A baby grand piano played holiday music in the morning and during cocktail hr. The lobby has many comfy leather couches and seating areas to have conversations while enjoying the ambiance. We even had Xmas cookies delivered to our rooms on Xmas morning! I was also very impressed with the hotel's eco-concern policies..while still providing a luxury experience for guests. All paper recycled, optional reuse of linens, etc. The Heathman Hotel Portland has very progressive ideas that all hotels should adapt. If you are looking for a great place to stay...skip the Lions, big H, and other big names and stay at the Heathman. You won't be disappointed. |
