Very friendly hotel. I used it for business as I am bored with the Premier Inn/Travel Lodge chains. Would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone who feels the same way.

Nice PlaceThe room was very pleaant and comfortable and the setting of the hotel is beautiful. The staff seemd a trifle disorganized but all-in-all very friendly.

A Little GemOne of the best hotels I've stayed in (in terms of value for money). Sat Nav tries to take you down a road which doesn't seem to exist, but the location is right; keep cruising until you find the entrance. Pay the extra and get a room with a view. I will definitely stay again.

Hidden GemThis hotel is truly a real treasure waiting to be discovered by those of you who have not yet experienced its delights. It is tucked away within it's beautiful grounds upon Beacon Hill Frodsham and provides an ideal base for business or pleasure, with very close links to the motorway system. This hotel offers top class accommodation and fine food in a wonderfully relaxed environment in a setting which is second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Shhh.................. Dont tell anyone !The Heathercliffe is positioned at the top of a quite country lane with some fantastics views of the local countryside. The staff are very friendly and welcoming with a very relaxed informal atmosphere. Room 4 was clean and very comforable with views of the duck pond from the front window and the river mersey from the side window. This was my first stay but have eaten at The Heathercliffe several times when colleagues have stayed. The food is all freshly cooked using local produce, is presented well and of a very high standard, great value for money. In the mornings the breakfast is again freshly cooked and worth waiting for so leave yourself a few more minutes to enjoy it.I will stay again soon when next in the area, I hope I will be able to book a room, however can see the Heathercliffe being very popular.Joe Worrall

Great little hotel, had to wait a little while on arrival as there was no one at reception, but apart from that the hotel is ideal.

An excellent hotel that is competitively priced. The accommodation is newly refurbished and done to a very high standard, the staff are all very helpful and the food is very good. It has a homely atmosphere and small enough for the staff to provide a real personal service.I have only recently discovered the Heathercliffe and now my colleagues and I are using it as our first choice in the area.

A hidden gem - not the easiest place to find, but well worth the effort. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. A real alternative to the big hotel chains, with real customer service and properly cooked and presented food.

I arrived on a freezing winter's evening to find that I was the only guest in the entire hotel all night - hardly an auspicious start, but at least they knew who I was without my having to provide identification! Thereafter my overnight stay was an interesting mix of extremely good and just plain ordinary.I was shown to my room and pleased to see that I had been upgraded to a double, but it was a barn of a place and in need of new decor. The brand new flatscreen TV contrasted with the creaking wardrobe, the radiator just about coped with the volume of air it had to heat, but at least there was free WiFi access. The en-suite bathroom was exceptional - newly decorated to a high standard, with a nice array of branded toiletries and clean white fluffy towels, but it was let down by the absence of the flush button on the loo cistern, and the shower door wasn't properly mounted so it kept swinging against me as I stood in the cubicle!I had a pre-dinner drink - alone, but for the sound of 1950s American dance band music playing on a CD, and was then shown through to the 50-seater restaurant where I dined in solitary splendour. The food, when it arrived was extremely good - very tasty, and very well presented, so that when I was asked if all was OK my only suggestion was that they change the CD which was now going round for the third time.I retired to bed at 9pm, since there was no company in the bar - the only member of staff I saw all night was the receptionist who also waited at table. As the night air plummeted to -7 degrees so the temperature in my room also dropped alarmingly as the central heating was turned off at night, and it was only when the cold woke me at 0230hrs that I found the spare blanket in the bottom of the wardrobe. At breakfast I was greeted by only the second face I saw during my entire stay, an amiable waitress who served me with a very well-presented full English breakfast, and I went on my way well-fed, if still a little cool from my night's rest.T

Small, personal, like a home from home. Immaculate and spotless, full of history and fascinating memorabilia. Staff attitude and care as good as anywhere. Lady with apron who took my breakfast order and chatted turned out to be the owner.....genteel, dignified, lovely lady. Tasty breakfast, lovely quiet surroundings, imposing view. Did not know hotels like this still existed but very glad that they do. Stayed on after checkout to write work report in the public area.

One of the best one night stops I have had in a long while. Food was excellent, and the hotel and grounds were superb.I went in the winter and I should imagine in the summer it would be fantastic.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, business or otherwise, as it was not too expensive and much better than plenty of the more expensive hotels that I have stayed in.

A couple of miles out of Frodsham up a narrow lane and with superb views over the Liverpool landscape. A wonderful friendly welcoming country house hotel. I'd gladly go back.

The hotel is friendly and welcoming, but it does suffer slightly from not having the latest of resources available. Probably better suited to holiday and leisure travellers rather than businessmen, the hotel was nevertheless good value for money. For business travel, good access to wireless broadband is mandatory. Did not have that here, but being located at the 'top of the hill\" with superb views around, my 3G card came to the rescue.
