Head of the River is a very popular traditional inn, bar and restaurant set in a stunning location overlooking the River Thames. With 12 bedrooms, some of which have recently been refurbished to a very high standard retaining the character and original features of the property, but with the benefits of the twentieth century. Attractive rates, excellent range of home cooked cuisine, wines and Fuller's award winning ales and beers. Located just 5 mins walk from the City centre. Please note that parking is available but limited. Upon booking, please let us know if you require a parking space.

What are your breakfast options?: We have a wide range of breakfasts to choose from which include a full English breakfast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, Eggs Benedict, buttered kippers and a ‘Head Of The River Continental’. All of our guests also have cereals and juices available everyday as well as freshly baked pastries; all breakfasts are inclusive in room rates.
What transport is available to get around?: There are buses running regularly from the bus stops, which is 2 minutes away on St Aldates road. There is also a transport depot at Gloster Green approximately 10 minutes walk near the city centre which runs buses to airports and attractions.
What can I do nearby?: We do not have any entertainment, however we are situated in a picturesque location on the bank of the river Isis. We are also a ten minute walk from Oxford city centre which has all entertainment and attractions that you would find in a modern historic city.
Do you have internet?: Yes, we do have Wi-Fi both in our rooms and around the hotel; the cost is completely free to all of our guests and a Wi-Fi access code is provided upon the guest’s arrival.
Do you provide parking?: We have limited parking available which is booked upon request.
