The Haymarket Hotel is a very friendly, well run hotel. The proprietor makes you feel welcome, greeting you personally on arrival, helping serve breakfast, running a nice relaxed bar in the evening - i.e. involved in every aspect resulting in a well-run hotel. Very nice full breakfast served in a lovely old-style room. This is a very comfortable hotel and it is easy to walk into the town or the various art galleries. Highly recommended.

The room (#9) was made too small by having two single beds in it. Would have been fine without.

Very friendly hotel. Had a room at the back, there was no view to speak of but the room was very quiet considering it was just off the main road. Was given a double room for single occupancy at no extra cost, very pleased with that! Breakfast choice limited but nicely prepared and presented. This hotel would be excellent value and location for anyone considering going to the rugby.

My only issue was that I told on registration that the bar would be open until 12.30 on my return from business engagement everything was in darkness, with no drinking water in my room this left me with a bit of an issue as I did not want to go back out at that time of night.

The hotel was easy to find, and centrally located - only a short walk to the centre. The bedroom room was small, however contained all the necessary facilities. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is very conveniently located for Haymarket station and the West End. I got a friendly welcome, and service was generally good. The hotel is a bit run down and shabby in appearance, and my room was fairly old-fashioned and in need of a lick of paint. At £90 a night for a double with breakfast I'd say it's a bit overpriced, but then hotels in Edinburgh are not cheap. Overall it's not too bad if you don't plan on spending too much time in the hotel.

I stayed at the Haymarket Hotel as a business traveller, and it isn't particularly suited to business travellers - low on facilities. The room was clean and adequately equipped but with heavy old fashioned furniture and not particularly tasteful. Shower cubicle was tiny and free toiletries amounted to a small cake of soap. Arriving in the middle of the night after a delayed flight, my heart did sink a bit. However, the staff were extremely helpful. I would recommend it as a base for a leisure trip to Edinburgh on a modest budget but don't expect good coffee.

Finding room to park on the street outside can be tricky but its free between 6.30pm and 8.30am.Shower was a little past its best! However the room was clean and nicely furnished.

This hotel was for the money quite acceptable and I would consider staying here again on business if it was just for myself. The only complaint, if it should be considered as such, was there was no bath in the on suite and therefore I would not have booked this room if travelling with my wife.
