Hayden's Hotel is located in Ballinasloe, which is home to October Fair, the biggest horse fair in Europe. It has free Wi-Fi, free parking and a bar with live music. Close by is the River Suck for fishing, golf, and the N6 motorway toward Galway and Dublin. Ballinasloe is known as the 'Gateway to the West' The bar hosts live music on Thursday and Saturday nights. Hayden's' nightclub is situated away from the main hotel and is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. The town is now principally recognised for the Great October Fair. This fair has been conducted since the early 18th century.] The name Ballinasloe means Mouth of the Ford of the Hostings. A village therefore developed near the fords and close to 2 castles which were built to control the fords. The area is rich in heritage and history also, from Clonmacnoise, Europe's most ancient monastic university, to Kilconnell's 14th century Franciscan Abbey, to the site of the 1691 Battle of Aughrim. While for the kids, there's the Glendeer Pet Farm just a short drive away. We are located on the main street in the market town of Ballinasloe, just a 40-minute drive from Galway city and 90 miles from Dublin city centre.
