We were there for a wedding. The beds were very comfortable and the continental breakfast was great, it even satisfied my mother!

The room was large. The two sinks and many mirrors were helpful when traveling with 4 people. The beds were small and the mattresses were not comfortable. The sleeper sofa was the most comfortable bed. This hotel was very convenient to the VA Tech. The room was large which was very nice. I believe the beds seemed smaller than the queens. The room was clean but it seemed old. The suite was great for our family. If remodeled this hotel would be superb.

Bad infestation of bed bugs. I want to make sure no one else experiences what I did. My office booked me at this hotel for work. After spending 1 night there, I left with over 200 bed bug bites. I have never seen these before, or been bitten, so I am thoroughly disgusted. After looking for reviews after my experience I found a couple other people had this problem 2 months before my stay, yet the hotel denied every having this issue before. This is deplorable and I look like I just left an African jungle, not a 1 night stay in a hotel. Book here at your own risk. The location is so-so, and the rates were Cheap! You get what you pay for. Next time, I'll be booking my own hotel stay, and I will never do business with this chain again.

The Hawthorn Blacksburg University was a wonderful hotel to stay in. The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the hallways were warm. The hotel was easy to access from the highway and is close to restaurants and the shopping mall and other shopping areas. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. I plan to stay here anytime I'm in the area.

This hotel is a good value. It is great for a family stay or business. Breakfast is good. Location is good - very quiet. Gas station/convenience store is extremely convenient. If you are traveling to Blacksburg to visit your college student or attend a Virginia Tech event, this is an excellent hotel!
