I love staying here with my family. Its our choice of hotels and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The hospitality,breakfast, basketball, pool and exercise was a win for us. Highly recommend anyone to stay there. (A great room for business and luncheons too.)

Easy to get to. Less than 1/2 mile from Lake Buena Vista Walt Disney World entrance. Rooms were clean, modern and came with all necessary appliances and utensils. Would be great for a family.

The suite gave us the room we need with two growing children. Near the highway and many restaurants, but the traffic in the afternoon and evening is congested. Clean hotel room, good buffet breakfast, small pool. The hotel is in a quiet area of Orlando near Disney World and Sea World.

EXCELLENT HOTEL - very clean; beds are very comfortable; service excellent; breakfast very good; very friendly staff at front desk; makes you feel like you're home. Will DEFENITELY BOOK THE SAME HOTEL NEXT TIME. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!

Check-in was smooth and easy as was check-out. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our suite felt just like home.

The hotel is nice for the price but we were supposed to have a fridge and microwave in our room and we did not. The amentities section is misleading because there is not a fridge or mocrowave in every room you have to ask for it and then they may or may not have it. The hotel is clean. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast was not that great. In walking distance of just about everything. Good location.

Terrible check-in experience! I made reservations for two (2) Adults and two (2) children Executive Guest Room with either 2 Queen Beds or 1 King. Obviously, with a family of 4 I needed "2 Queen Beds!" That was not the case when I checked in. I was told there was "no room with 2 beds reserved for my family - the reservation I made from Orbitz was ONLY a room and no beds???? I was told the hotel was booked and that there was no available rooms for my family. I just traveled 2 days to get there and imagine my suprise! I presented the front desk a copy of my confirmation and they didn't seem to recognize or want to honor it. Hotel stated if I wanted to upgrade I would have to pay more money - That was a very poor business statement!!! When I was pulled aside from the Manager, I was told this was Orbitz mistake. My family and I just wanted to get settled into a room we paid for through Orbitz and begin our Disney vacation. I was later that evening put into a suite by the maintenance Manager. I will never book through Orbitz again or recommend to anyone!

It was very clean and comfortable. The suite was large. We traveled with an infant and a toddler. I felt very comfortable and there was plenty of space for us all. The kitchen is not huge, but then again, we didn't go there to cook. It was nice to have one available in case we wanted to warm something and to wash the bottles and cups. The breakfast wasn't as good as I was hoping, but it really wasn't bad. The second day we were there it was much better than the first. I would definately recommend this hotel and expect to go back soon. The bed was very comfortable. I had never had such a great night's sleep at a hotel. The hotel was excellent except for the hallways which had no air conditioning and it was very uncomfortable everytime we walked out of our room into the elevator.

The staff at the breakfast area were very unfriendly and did a poor job of keeping the items stocked, the main person spoke very little english making it hard to communicate with her. The furniture was torn and uncomfortable, the bathroom light was burnt out when we arrived and still when we left. There are many other hotels in that area at the same price with much better service so shop around before you go.

This hotel is very well kept. It's clean, it's in a nice location, it's got a great free breakfast that changes every morning with lots of choices..also has happy hour mon thru thurs. Also, a light dinner for free on wed. It's super close to all the Sea World places and downtown Disney (5 mins or so). Staff was incredible! They are friendly and helpful. The beds were great, Both queens in a large bedroom, w/ duvet and lots of pillows, the matress was pillow top, PLUS they also had another thick pad for comfort, and the sheets were super soft. The kitchen was fully stocked, dishwasher and all. Pots & pans, dishes, cups. We really like this hotel and absolutely loved Orlando. We will definetely be back!. There is also a plaza right down the road w/ places to eat and a grocery store and drugstore near by.

my family and i, had a great experience. The hotel was very clean and suites where very well equipped. there was many places to go out and eat or to shop for food. both Disney and Universal where close by. my family and i felt very safe, inside and out. We didn't have to drive far for anything. I would highly recommended.

The hotel we ended up at (a Hawthorn Suites closer to Universal Studios) was fine (and is the one I'm going to review). But, we were unhappy to be bumped as a result of this hotel beign overbooked. We had a prepaid reservation (in full) but still got bumped. The other hotel was about 10 minutes away but we were upset that we did have to move. The Hawthorn on Sand Lake is fine but in a busier area than the one in Lake Buena Vista. At Sand Lake you have to contend with the International Drive traffic which can be a bit hectic. The upside is that the Sand Lake property is within walking distance of some restaurants and other services. Staff was friendly, breakfast was nice and the room was great for a family of four with separate living/bedroom area. Kitchen was also welcome (though why don't they keep ice in the kitchen freezers? I always have to wait for that first couple of batches of ice to be made.) Was impressed that housekeeping cleaned our few dishes. I didn't expect that (and tipped them well as a result). If you are visiting Universal or Sea World the Sand Lake Hawthorn is a good location. To be closer to Disney you need to aim for Lake Buena Vista.

The Hawthorn Suites was a very clean, comfortable hotel. The location to Disney is great. We didn't use pool but it seemed very nice. Everything was neat and clean. The bathroom was a disappointment no vanity to put anything, small tilted mirror and bad lighting for make-up.

This was a great hotel. Very professional staff, very clean. They have a nice continental breakfast in the morning. The pool was nice, but a little small. Across the street from Disney.

The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms comfortable. The kitchen appliances were a great plus for traveling, especially the refridgerator. It was great having 2 televisions for those who wanted to stay up a little later than the others. The people at the front desk were very friendly. The breakfast was very well presented and of good quality. I would consider staying in this facility again.

After a late arrival [1AM], we were checked in by a friendly clerk. Upon getting to the room, we had problems with the key card. We checked back with the clerk, we were given a new room, with a free upgrade for our troubles. All staff was friendly, and smiling during our stay. Breakfast was good and different everyday. New toasters would of been nice, half worked. You are 5 minutes from downtown Disney and close to the parks and I-4. Nice large rooms and clean. Would recommend for family or couples. We got a great online rate, made our stay even better.

Stayed here early October 2008. Location ideal within 10-15 min of Universal and Disney Parks. Pool was a bit on the small side, but clean and never crowded. Breakfast choices very limited, and half the toasters did not work properly. One bedroom suite was adequate. Clean and comfortable, but few frills. The two queen beds were very comfortable and the sofabed was one of the better ones I have come across in this standard of hotel. Staff very helpful, if a little slow at check-in.

The Hawthorne Suites was a good deal fo the price paid. Overall, the hotel was nice although some things could be remodeled (decor). The breakfast was fair. Check inn was the only part that I was not satisfied with. Although it was not said, it was clear that our rooms were given away. We had three rooms on two different floors and the two that were supposed to be adjoining were not. We also received a call from the front desk complaining that we were in and out of our rooms too much. This was disturbing because it was not us. We did not leave our rooms, however a family down the hall were the noisy ones but since we had high school students with us, we were the target. That was disappointing. If a staff member would have come to that floor to observe before calling, that would have been easily seen. Other than these staff issues, everything was fine.
