The hotel is fine, but I think over priced for the amenities. They did not have the air contidioning available yet, so the room got too hot.

Free internet. On major road - lots of traffic noise. The hotel appearance was OK. Lobby was clean. The rooms did have a new bed, desk and TV, but the bathroom and kitchen area were old. The bed was too firm. The refrigerator was old and ran so load we had to unplug it. The air conditioning on full blast produced lukewarm air. When people left their rooms the door slamming was surprisingly loud. The free breakfast was not good. It was very greasy and the toaster was broken.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and will never be back. The king bed "suite" is nothing more than a regular room with a TINY kitchen in the entryway. The room itelf is very small as well. I-395 is on one side of the hotel, and Van Dorn street on the other which makes for a LOT of ambient noise. The heat/air-conditioning is controlled at the building level, so you can turn on the fan contraption in your room, but all you'll get is hot air if you go there in April because they haven't turned off the building heat yet! So at night we had to open the windows to cool down the room after it baked in the sun all day, and then the road noise got REALLY loud and annoying! The fact that an apparently busy fire station is nearby didn't help one bit. The hotel was in general not clean; crumbs and dirt strewn about the hallways; the bed sank towards the middle which is always uncomfortable; our shower handle was broken so we had to wait while a maintenance guy fixed it, ruining our departure time for the day; the duvet cover on the bedspread was torn and ripped in spots; the doors close VERY loudly; electrical outlets were loose in the wall and sometimes wouldn't work; and that's just a sampling of what made our stay extremely annoying. Then there were the room rate problems. At check-out our rate was higher than they said it would be at check-in and refused to explain the difference! I "negotiated" it down to $20 more than what was originally agreed upon, and will be contesting the charge with my credit card company. It was a very disappointing stay, and they will never get my business again.

We loved the one bedroom suite. Our family of four found the room to be spacious and nicely appointed. The kids liked the pool and the big screen TV. They offer a free shuttle to the Metro stop which was very convenient. Laundry facilities had plenty of fast washers and dryers that were all in good working order. We were pleasantly surprised by the managers reception Monday-Thursday that had free beer, wine, and a light dinner menu. Food wasn't fancy, but it was terrific for a free meal! Breakfast selections good as well. There are several places to eat nearby, but you need a car.

The Hawthorn Suites was comfortable and the room was nice as it was an efficiency suite with a little kitchen. The Hotel had no kitchen or a very good buffet as they were under construction to make room for these things. But it did seem that the hotel did their best to provide comfort and food there. There also was no room service at this time. The location was fair as it seemed to be in a good location to access multipule freeways.

The breakfast buffet was ok. Even though it had a kitchen I wouldn't call that room a suite. Disappointing.

good Location, easy access to Metro, great service, Friendly staff, missed indoor pool for the kids otherwise will be excellent.

The hotel was close to the major highways, and very close to a big shopping mall. Didn't see much restaurants in the hotel area, so we ate at a restaurant in the mall. Hotel staffs were friendly. Room was newly renovated. Carpet, mattress, sofa, tables and chairs, etc, looked new. Bed was very comfortable. Big flat screen tv was nice too. The kitchen and bathroom were not renovated though, so they didn't seem to go with the newly renovated fancy-looking room. The free continental breakfast was great, had lots of varieties to choose from compared to other motels/hotels' free breakfasts. I only stayed for one night, and wished I had stayed longer. The only negative of our stay was that our room was right next to the elevator, and we could hear it move every time it went up and down. The elevator noise wasn't very loud, but it could be annoying. Overall, it was an excellent stay for the cost.

The Hawthorne suites was well maintained and in the process of being updated. Nice rooms, very comfortable and very convenient for a longer business stay. It is a little hard to find by car.

The kitchenette was very convenient, especially if traveling with children. Noindoor whirlpool/pool. Exellent value, actually exceeded expectations.

Suite was pleasant with full kitchen and dining area. Easily accessible computers near lobby with free interent. Free shuttle to Metro. No one mentioned or advertised the complimentary breakfast, except a small note with our room key, so we missed it the first two days. Clean and functional, but not new. The location did not work for us, but otherwise I would recommend it.

MY husband and our teenage son and I stayed here while visiting Washington D.C. Although it is a way out from the city , we very much enjoyed our stay . The hotel shuttel bus took us to and from the metro station which we rode everyday into Washington. The free breakfast buffet was adequate. The hotel was for the most part quiet. We were impressed with the size of our suite. There also was a small room with 2 computers to use. Restaurants for dinner were a bit of a drive but many to choose from.

After a travel nightmare, I arrived at the Hawthorn Suites where I was greeted by some of the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. They were sympathetic that I'd just had a long, unpleasant filght and got me into my room quickly. When I got to my room I was surprised at how large the rooms were. The sofa bed was a little out dated, but the room was so clean that I overlooked it. The free breakfast is fantastic and they also serve a nice dinner. This was my first time staying in a Hawthorn, because I was able to get Hyatt points. I was trully impressed.

I have never seen a hotel is such total disrepair. This hotel was under repair and that it requires extensive remodeling in suites, including new carpets, linens and draperies to eliminate the smell of soiled and mildew fabrics. We stayed approximately 30 minutes and checked out. I am a heart patient with COPD and I had two breathing attacks in less than 30 minutes. I do not recommend this hotel for any guests in the near future.

Perfect and centrally located. All the necessary amenities were provided. Cable, wireless access, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, a small kitchen in the room and it was very clean. I would recommend a stay at this hotel to anyone. I failed to mention that the continental breakfast offered was more like a buffet! Not just cold cereal, coffee, bagels and fruit.

I stayed at this hotel for a businees trip. I needed a space that was good for small group meetings. It was clean and quiet and the service was amazing. The people were professional and pleasant and the service was quick. I will stay at this hotel again many times.

Hawthorn Suites provided a very comfortable atmosphere for all ages. Nice, clean room with numerous options from cooking, swimming, excising, washing closthes and etc. Left underclothes in room at checkout. Called back by 3pm before next check in time and staff told me that they could not be found, this was hard for me to believe. Either way, it's a great hotel. I enjoyed my stay and returned again the following weekend.
