apart from not having fresh brewed coffee in the morning the room was small but clean and the staff were very friendly and helpfull, not noisy at night like we thought it would be and in a very good location. Best shower in the world no doubt!!!

HorribleArrived at the reception which was a tiny shelf at the base of the stairs, waited for 15minutes and noone answered a call (at 15:00). Thankfully the bar was open so got a nice lady who asked me to follow the signs to my room. Noisy, hot and tiny room , the corridors and stairs need a bit of attention. its like a bit better student halls accomodation really, so depends on what you looking for. Definetly not a stay for me again at that price (65)

We were a large party having a meal there, one person ordered roast chicken it arrived uncooked and not roasted looked more like if it had been microwaved,we had to wait a long time before receiving our food then when we had nearly finished our main course the last meal arrived, she was told it would be a few minutes longer but we had all finished when that arrived. All choices were with chips rather than veg, where we sat it was very cold.

Excellent hotel in the centre of AberystwythVery pleasantly surprised with the room we had on the first floor. It was huge! Windows opened so lovely and airy. Plenty of storage space. Bathroom also very good with excellent shower. Breakfast great with the best bacon I've tasted. No complaints.

Bloody marvellous!!If every hotel had staff like Harry's they would be marvellous! The room was very good, clean, comfortable and well serviced. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and restaurant were self service with very good quality food. Would recommend and visit again. Marvellous.

Nice to find a friendly place to stay when miles from home. Just a 10 min walk from sea front, while in the town centre. Parking is a bit awkward, but managed to get in. The food is good, and in the morning they have an open kitchen, so you can see your food being prepared. Would stay again.

Great location but parking can be a problem. More a b/b than a hotel. Not sure how it qualified for 2 stars, unless they have better rooms than those given to internet bookings.

NoiseI stayed in what I was told is the best room in the hotel, which is very large and comfortable. The other rooms I saw were quite small and depressing. The problem with the hotel is that it is part of a pub which opens very late. The noise from televisions and music permeates the whole of the first floor of the hotel and lasts until 1am. It then starts again at 7am when they open for breakfast. Unless you are a heavy sleeper you will struggle to get sleep. I won't be going back.

We stayed here for three nights and wished we hadn't. The room was small and very hot (it was only April). At night the window could not be opened due to the sound of a noisy generator at the rear of the buidling. The bed was small for two adults and the mattress was very uncomfortable. Rooms are in close proximity to each other and noise travels very easily throughout the building. Cleaning staff did not service room properly -- they only supplied fresh towels. Expensive for what you get -- go for a B&B.

Harry's, April 2009Harry's is friendly and welcoming. My room, overlooking North Parade, was large and light, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower room was clean and warm, with plenty of hot water and a powerful shower. The Neutrogena shampoo and the milled soap were good quality but a shower cap would have been useful as the shower head was fixed (I'll take my own next time!)Service in the bistro/bar was charming although I found the food a bit too "pub grub"; Aberystwyth seems to be a place without a really good restaurant so it's an opportunity missed.Overall, it's a decent place to stay. Not for anyone who has difficulties with stairs though!

other horribly noisy drunken young guests made what would otherwise have been ideal accomodation for my daughter and myself rather a nightmare between the hours of 11pm and 4am

Room very comfortable at an excellent price.Only real let down was the quality of the food, it was OK but I sort of expected better.Excellent Irish theme sports pub below, not too loud even if it stayed open till late. Will definately stay again.

Fine place if you want to be in the centre of Aberystwyth - very good location. Room was large, decor fine - had the feeling of being in student digs and a mum had come down and given the place a lick of paint and hung some new curtains. Small bathroom, dripping shower, old desk that looked like it'd been found in a skip, old wardrobe, no doors. Small TV on wall, much too far away from the bed. No-one really ever on reception but the bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Stay here if you're not too fussy, like the bar and want to be centrally located so you can go out, get drunk, doss somewhere and not care too much where you are. Not recommended for business travellers looking for an early night.

This hotel was great for what we were expecting. We wanted to enjoy Aberystwyth as well as tune in to watch a rugby game on screen - and happily - we enjoyed a beer or two in the bar wilst enjoying the game - before checking in with no problems. Perfectly located and room was clean and comfortable.... only problem was we couldn't have a decent nights sleep as there was a generator going virtually all night!!!

Well the bar and bistro was great and really nice atmosphere and a good venue - hence I would stay here again. however the rooms are definitely shabby and in need of a refit. Very shabby in fact and not that clean overall. Not bad and not awful just tired. The reception welcome is far from hospitable either. And the car park is a piece of waste ground that will hold about 3 cars so be warned.Overall it's OK.
