The hotel was basic but thats what we wanted a clean place to rest with no frills. We were out the whole day. The staff were polite, english was limited and lacked any knowledge to give us any real information of places of interest. We found our way around thanks to the many tips left by other reviews and other sites on the internet. We came by airport shuttle and walked forward and raised our heads and looked to the right for the name board and found it easily. We took a taxi back to the airport for Y 100. The location is the best thing, we made use of the subway which is a standard Y 2 fare irrespective of the distance travelled. There are lots of places to grab a bite to eat and even though its crowded we felt very safe while walking around late at night. We are very happy with the Hotel and would stay again if we come back to Beijing.

I have stayed at the Harmony 3 times in the last six months and have been very, very satisfied on each occasion. I was particulary impressed this time to identify many of the staff from my previous visits - this is a positive and probably indicates a strong management. Needless to say, I will stay there again on my next visit - it is ideal for both tourists and business visitors being very well located.

The hotel is in a very good location. Close to a lot of the main attractions and subway lines. The breakfast is okay and the hotel is clean. The beds are very hard according to European standards, but (as we were reminded) you are in China. It is very easy to get to the Great Wall (Badaling) by taking a short subway ride and taking the local bus 919. (Much cheaper that the tour price asked by the company advertised in the hotel) The hotel staff were quite friendly and tried to help where they could. Their English was not that good though...

I knew I was in trouble when on my way to my room I noticed these little boxes in the corners with little pellets in them and the word "rodent poison." I should have left then. This hotel was awful and should not be listed as a 3 star or any star for that matter. The staff was not helpful. After "hello" you were on your own. I would rather walk the streets all night than stay at this rat hole. I would not recommend this hotel on a very bad day. Under no circumstance should you pick this hotel. Not even for the price -- it was not worth it. -- Stay Away!

Perfect position for this hotel...we were not disappointed with the staff and hotel

Where to begin....Okay in all fairness, the hotel is very clean and the check-in and check-out is painless. If you speak to XYZ, one of the representatives at the front she gives you great deals on the excursions just for sitting with a sales person for an hour (i thought it was woth it). We sat down with XYZ who was very friendly not pushy and we got great excursion deals. The pools are very clean and wonderful. Unlike the beach which has rough sand and the waves just came crashing down on anyone who got close to it. The restaurants are terrible, the food is not good, they are so interested in the food appearance that they lack in taste. As for the waiters, they are awful, you might find two who work hard but they rest are lazy and nasty. They have the restaurant Caribeno that has good quesadillas and tacos for lunch so thats what we ate the whole week..oh and the flan is to die for..very good. Now, if you want shrimp or lobster get ready to pay extra..now this is an all inclusive yet you have to pay extra. The rooms are very nice and housekeeping is on point. They restock your room with everything you need..no problem. There are no safes in the rooms BUT if you go to the front desk they have safes there free of charge. There is no night life after 11:00pm..no music at the hotel, no club, there is just nothing to do unless you go into town. So you end up going to your room and watching the 5 english channels they have. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and definitely would not go back to it. Rethink this hotel, its not worth the money.

My second visit and I was as impressed with the property as I was the first time - great location and ideal for tourists or business people seeking a good value property.

We stayed for 10 days during the Olympics so hotel prices were very inflated but the location of the hotel was very convenient. Staff were helpful and the rooms good for this standard of hotel.

Excellent tourist style hotel - very good location close to Railway Station and within easy distance of major tourist attractions. Would certainily return to this hotel if and when I visit Beijing again.

The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the subway stop which is a great advantage. The staff at the reception is very helpful and speak good English. The Tianamen Square is about 3o minutes walk ( or two subway stop) . We stayed in the "de lux" rooms which are comfortable and spatious . The beds are hard(er than usual) , but after a long day of walking , viewing and spending money you will sleep well there. The breakfast is a buffet type, where you can find Chinese specialities, as well as toast, fruit, yoghurt , jam , etc. In summary I would hihgly reccomend this hotel to every traveller if I go again to Beijing I wil stay this hotel for sure .
